Leica Conversations: Jason Roman & the Leica SL3

Join us for a Leica Conversation with NY-based visual artist Jason Roman.
Jason will discuss the inspiration for his latest project: "Natives" and his experience working with the new Leica SL3 to create the series. Topics will include his thoughts on the camera's ergonomics and how advances in its autofocus system allowed him to capture his subjects.
In addition, he will share his thoughts on using both SL lenses and M lenses on the camera. Hosted by Senior Product Specialist John Kreidler.

Jason Roman is a New York street photographer and cinematographer. Self-taught, he honed his craft in the streets, talking to and engaging with the world around him, never leaving the house without a camera around his neck. While the city served as his classroom, Jason's career has led him around the world photographing behind-the-scenes for tv and film, editorial spreads and advertising campaigns. Still, it is the NYC streets that provide his greatest inspiration and creative flow. Beyond creating art, Jason actively nurtures connections in the community and the industry and outside of that you can catch him feeding and photographing pigeons in Chinatown.

I tend to believe that the sensitivity of a person is often reflected in their art. Jason's inner persona is certainly reflected in his emotive portraits. I share his admiration for Bruce Gilden and can only imagine how Jason felt making a portrait of such an iconic photographer. Great conversation and best to both of you.
