- Scenes from nine visits to Clapham Junction over a twenty-two year period, covering the heyday of the Southern region Class 73 Electrodiesels to the final months of the Connex and South West 'Slam-Door' trains. Six heritage steam locomotives and a Hastings DEMU contribute to the action.
Clapham junction is always my favourite station ever ❤
ABSOLUTELY HELLFIRE MY LORDS!!!!
73 117 'University of Surrey' -- this was the one I spotted within five minutes of arriving at Woking while on vacation in the UK in '91. And that was 28 years after standing on the platform there and having 73117 'Vivien' come storming by with a down express
The south of England has been cursed with some seriously hideous corporate liveries, but a great piece of film all the same. Thank you.
A useful piece of documentary, loved the steam special at 3.30. Was the one at 7.30 the same at 11.30 coming back? No of course not - cream and custard up, pullman back Nicely filmed and edited. Looks like you had trackside access. Nice to have just the train sounds and no commentary but a set of notes would help those like me who are poor at recognising things!
my one was filmed in 2012 with mostly emus
wow very old this was filmed
wow so many steam specials everytime I go to Clapham junction theres nothing and the next day a steam special passed
Imagine this. Its 2009 and You've just returned from a day trip up to London. You arrive at Paddock Wood at 9:45pm at night. While you wait for the connecting Medway Valley Line service you decide to go to Waitrose next door. As you step into the concourse you hear a roar. You turn around and look in on horror as two 57's zoom past towing the brand new London Midland 350's bound for Willesden... :)
Pendennis Castle to lodon
