This is the THIRD Jhiaxus ever. The first was a Robots in Disguise (2000) figure, a repaint of Beast Machines Jetstorm. The second was a Generations figure, a retool of Generations Armada Starscream. This Legacy Jhiaxus is the third figure ever.
I saw this figure be on sale so many times at Walmart and never ever thought about picking it up...and recently I won it in a giveaway on whatnot and i gotta say it's a lot better than I expected....like you said they put so much effort and it's probably because they've never done a figure of this character before and most likely won't do another one again for another 10-15 years...

I fixed the wrist doors by putting a bit of super glue on the tabs, letting it try, then clipping off what excess/unnecessary glue stopping it from closing.
Jhiaxus has the face of an Asian demon, and I really love it. It's not quite human, so it's not uncanny, just ugly and cool in all its stern glory. This is where most of his personality is. I don't blame anyone who calls Jhiaxus a god by seeing his face. But man he just looks like a jacked up seeker without null rays. He's not unique enough. The shins having exposed wires isn't that big of a deal to me, cause his face got strong vibes. I hope they release Jhiaxus in IDW colors cause I want him to look more and more like guardian monster statues like those around temples and stuff. Jhiaxus is cool, but nowhere near must-have for me. I just noticed his face looks like Darkseid from DC. I remember Darkseid from the Justice League cartoons. That was one of my childhood cartoons. Toy companies really were diving in the nostalgia rabbit hole, but then Gundam announced a new anime. And I'm excited for Earthspark. I hope that cartoon's toyline lives up to WFC Trilogy and Legacy. This nostalgia rabbit hole is ending, and I'm thrilled to see completely new stuff. Do you think Bludgeon or Drift will be in Legacy? I really want these characters.
It does have a Samurai Helmet Quality. Yeah the Hot Orange is a much better color scheme. He does look a little like Darkside. Going by the look of the Earthspark designs I doubt it will be good but we will see. I mean considering they showed off Skullgrin already I'd say Bludgeon is a safe bet.
Excellent and fair review, PerspectiveEnd. Bot mode is really good, yes. However the arm kibble and hollow undercockpit in jet mode is plain bad, so I wouldn't consider it a mini masterpiece. Though its jet mode is still better than Legacy Blitzwing's alternate modes. Cheers.
I was debating weather or not to give him the Moniker, but to be fair some real MPs don't have great altmodes. Really the robot mode being so near perfect is what did it for me.
Imagine disarming a guy and then he pulls out a smaller version of the gun you just knocked out of his hands. Also, looking at this Jhiaxus makes me think that the previous lines didn't have that many Decepticons because some of them are either fugly beyond comprehension or impossible to translate into toy form. Because I remember distinctly that the Unicron Trilogy had roughly the same amount for both factions.

honestly all of the voyagers in legacy so far have been fantastic (not counting the soundwave repack) plus its nice to have a big decpticon villain who isnt some version of megatron for once
I'll admit I love how this figure looks even though he looks like he has Zaku tubes on his head mixed with a seeker, but my common problem will be and always will be this...yellowing, this figure is nothing but white, I fear for it overtime.

I recently got this. I'm impressed with the bot mode ,accuracy and detail. I have the same QC issues as well. Despite that I'm just glad we finally got a proper representation of this character. I have a feeling they will retool this sculpt for their upcoming metal hawk.
Some people worry about the clear plastic chest but it seems pretty thick and sturdy to me. Speaking of clear plastic, I guess the little gun is supposed to be his obligatory energon weapon

I’d like to see a orange and grey repaint to reference his previous figures/colours. It’s also odd that he has opening hands on a random voyager, I find this to be one of the better voyagers in legacy while it’s ugly to some the possibility and quality is great

When i first saw this figure, i thought the clear gun was a jpeg just edited on because it was missing or something. turns out... its just incredibly thin
I actually got this figure as an early gift for my birthday, and I must say, his general build reminds me of BB Movie Prime. I enjoy the figure, however I wish they gave him a more pleasant looking headsculpt. Also, strangely the QC on my figure is exactly like yours, which makes me believe that it’s more widespread.
I always give the extra weapons like that clear gun to other figures that didn't have proper weapons to begin with like legacy arcee. It might not be accurate but it's better than pizza cutter.
I figure that his alt-node is a cargo shuttle rather than a jet per se, with a couple of bulk cargo containers underslung. It's not like Skyfire or the Sweeps/Defcon or even Astrotrain ever gave a crap about aerodynamics, let alone any larger ships. Really, though, he's not far off the situation of the BB Movie figures where the toy designers pretty much just had to start from the robot mode and make whatever they could out of it, since basically the only thing that carries over between modes is his stripey cockpit, with not even the main color matching otherwise.
I'm pretty sure that's not what they are going for. I mean that's kind of true but Skyfire, was like supposed to have a crew like a Starship. And yeah that is fair, there wasn't much in the way of an actual altmode for this guy to work off of.
I really like this guy and I am happy we are getting comic only transformers finally. Oh also at 4:24 you said optimus never used the matrix but optimus was actually the first person and still the only person to open the matrix in a cartoon. It's In the G1 episode "return of optimus prime part 2". Hasbro is not going to try to replace optimus with rodimus again after the first try which is why future stories involving the matrix were almost entirely centered around optimus. Hence the matrix becoming important to optimus as a character, since every iteration after g1 has some kind of matrix that is significant to the character.
So I admit I didn't read through all the comments to see if anyone said it or not but this is the third Jhiaxus figure. The first was in the RID 2001 toyline as a repaint of the deluxe Jetstorm, then of course before this one, the thrilling 30.

I love the gaudy aesthetic of this figure, it was the main draw. Hilariously enough i have the exact same qc with the joints, and its super weird. They're at that really weird point where its not great but its tolerable. Weirdly enough i think the way this transforms would work wonderfully as a seeker. It could be just me who thinks that though, and we should just let Jihaxus have this win of a figure.
I think it could work great for the cone heads, or maybe some Tetra Jets. But hey if you like what you see, I don't get it, but you must LOVE this thing.
It's funny you mention his build being perfect for a seeker, because when I first saw the pictures of him released by Hasbro I was excited, not for Jhiaxus himself, but because I was convinced he was a pre-tool for Armada Starscream. Everything about him just worked in my eyes, and just needed some tweaks to fit his character. ...And then we saw Armada Starscream... And he looks fucking aweful. He's literally an upscaled, worse version of his Generations figure, and that makes me... So mad. Mad, and concerned, because if Starscream looked that poor, then I worry for Megatron and Optimus. I didn't even have plans to buy Jhiaxus, but the moment I saw the Starscream we were getting I just decided to buy him out of spite, and it just made me *MORE* mad because this figure's mold is so damn good. The legs on mine are nice and tight even if the elbows and shoulders are a tad loose, and the articulation is amazing, even having that shoulder articulation cheat mentioned in the video which I was quick to figure out and love utilizing for all sorts of fun poses. Everything just works so well on him even if his colors are gaudy and horribly cheap-looking. Like, he's my favorite Legacy figure so far, and as someone that had no intention of buying him that came as a major surprise to me.
I'm seriously convinced with that blitzwing that they figured they would probably need another leader class so they decided on voyager blitzwing and figured it would work because in the last line there was a triple change or leader class so why not again?
I just got mine today and HOLY SHIT I LOVE this thing. I honestly didn’t even know that this guy existed until this thing was revealed but now I love the character and this figure captures him so well and I’m happy. He’s gonna be sitting on the throne that came with the Corination Starscream that I have, wish the crown fit him though. Also PLEASE don’t turn your hatred of Blitzwing into a running gag it’s already bad enough that you do Cliffjumper. I don’t own Cliffjumper but I own the Netflix Bumblebee and I really like the thing, probably my favorite Netflix figure of the ones I got. And for that he might be small and he might parts form but he’s still actually good and it’s ok that he’s getting a few retools and repaints, I mean it makes sense that they do that because some characters actually have Bumblebee’s body type so it makes sense that they retool Cliffjumper into them. It’s ok that you don’t like it but your hatred of it has gotten out of hand at this point. That last part had nothing to do with this video but I had to get that off my chest.
In the wing universe aka the most closest thing of in between the g1 cartoon and beast wars jhiaxus was the reason of the birth of many transformers like g2 ironhide, nightracer, mw starscream, mw hubcap and thanks to sky byte who jumped into the g1 universe and stole the rest of jhiaxus's pods and the bw predicons were born and one of them was tarantulas
Here's an idea. For Stop Motion, the smaller gun could perhaps be used as an inbetween frame from when he's summoning his weapon, like they do in Victory.

UPDATE (I guess) I've gotten it at the start of september in czech republic, for relatively decent price (as the exchange rate czk - dollar got worse) and I'm loving it. He's not exactly the centerpoint of my transformers collection, but he deffinitely is the main villain of my "g1 esque" shelf. The design, in my eyes, wonderfully conveys his nature of a fanatical warmonger who sees nothing but his ideology. The feral insanity hiding behind mask of arrogance, together with slight "marine" feel, it's got it all. When I visited the US, I've seen few of them in some Targets.
The reason why this figure is the way it is. Is because one of the designers got to work on this and it was one of his Favorite characters, so he tried to make it as good and perfect as possible. And that probably explains why cyclones is as good of a figure same thing goes with blaster, why they look soo good.
I mean that only explains so much, like 1 why did this get so much budget allowed for it, even if it was the guys favorite character. And 2 why are they then apparently allowed to Phone in designs?
I like the Idea of Jhiaxus being a scientist who made false information "proving" functionism as a viable thing. But the reason he's doing it is because he benefits from the system (but i can't find out a way to fit that in my own personal story). Also hyped for this
In short, you can hate this because of the figure look, but at the end of the day, this is still one HECK of a well executed figure. And as for the gun.... The best guess I had heard is from TJOmegas. That the reason why this figure has his translusive gun is the same, as the reason why Bulk has an translusive mini-gun. And as for the question of the video... Since you mentioned his generations retool, can I ask what you think about his incarnation in IDW comics?
Yes, it's a great figure of a Really UGLY thing. Yeah, it's clearly the energon weapon thing, but why do it twice? I think the IDW version looks a lot cooler, and I like him as a weird kind of Dr Frankenstein Igor hybrid.
A bit off topic but an update I picked up the blitz wing and yeah I’m liking it a lot though the plastic does make me worry it’ll break in future so I’m being careful. I did end up finding blitz for $40 so it was easier on the wallet and felt more reasonable. To get back on topic I can’t wait to find the rest of the wave two figs cause Jhiaxus is lookin great to me. Edit note god big J’s name is hard to spell lol
This figure was definitely designed by people who love the character. Afterall this is the first original mold for the character so glad they went all out. I wouldn't be surprised if they release a repaint/retool of his comic book orange deco. The alt mode is definitely a dud, but overall it's an amazing figure that I'm surprised we got in 2022 with this level of gap fillers, moving hands ect.
From a capitalistic standpoint it kinda makes sense why they’re making all these one off characters hella accurate, since that way, they don’t have to do em again in a long while. We’ll always have characters that are relevant and that matter, they’re probably just getting these niche taste one off characters out the way just to later profit on their eventual rarity in the future. That’s purely a guess of mine.
There is a separate think you have to consider. Copyright. If they do a perfect version now, and have to make it again later to keep Copyright, then the next versions of these will likely be doomed to go poorly.
it feels like they went out of their way to make this figure better than most; he's taller than a lot of leaders, has one of the cleanest robot modes, they added those arm panels to cover up what would be huge gaps on other figures, and gave him opening hands which they just only seem to do for new molds once every blue moon, all for... jhiaxus. why? motormaster couldn't get any opening hands, even for the menasor mode, but a fucking voyager jhiaxus does???
I hate how everything is pinned. I got a replacement copy with better tolerances, but his right elbow was so loose. But since everything is pinned, I can’t just swap the arms.
That is an interesting statement, considering how fans used to curse the lack of pins. You could use some joint tighteners. Also the arms are on mushroom pegs arent they, cant you swap them there?
I don't recall Hasbro ever saying that opening hands were the "true sign" of a Leader (aka Ultra-class) or Commander (aka Super-class). After all, Studio Series '86 Hot Rod has them and he isn't Ultra-class or Super-class, he was Mega-class - and is sold with out the majority of his accessories as a Deluxe-class now!
I don’t know jack ab this character and I think the colors he was given are horrendous but I’m impressed his figure is as intuitive as it is. Not sure if it warrants picking up or not, but I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it came out better than I expected.

I just watched a video showing the New stuff revealed at Comecon and it had the cybertron theme playing in the background, and I realized that the cybertron theme fits the whole astetich (i have No idea how to spell that) of legacy really well and by that i Mean the packaging and promotionel images. U can Even interpret the "our worlds Are in danger" line as refering to the diffrent universes the line is showcasing. (and if u dont believe me at least try to listen to the cybertron theme while looking at some of the legacy promotionel images. spesifctly (another Word i cant spell) the ones were the figures Are in that landscape with the sand and the props and also the boxart )

Thank Primus I found this guy on sale at $30. Before you ask, in my local Toys r us (yes I have Toys r us) its $50! Voyagers are $50... Deluxes $40, Voyagers as I said $50, Legacy leaders are $84, but somehow SS leaders are $72? Also, COMMANDERS ARE $130. I think I'm buying everything not here, it saves money and my appetite for collecting Transformers.
Many of the wing universe stories brings up that it is in between g1 and beast wars like the inclusion of obsidian and strika before bm, but i kinda wanted to talk about the g2 redux story where a new genaration of transformers made in earth was born lead by freaking pyro which in my opion is awsome with a heroic english accent and clench with a western bad guy voice which again is awesome, defensor and menasor had perish and streetwise and breakdown were the only survivors of the stunticons and the protectobots, sky byte came from the rid2001 universe abunch of sharktions follow him, pyro's friend rapido is spanish, some of the originals like inferno and jazz who were under pyro's command were g2ified and by primus pyro being the leader of the next generation of autobots before the maximal and predicons exist is still something i love so much
I think the reason as tl why the matrix is more associated with optimus nowadays is mostly retroactive general knowledge (now we know that being a prime is a rank you can gain thanks to being powered up by the matrix) and general gimmickry (it's added value in the figures and a way for designers to flex their ability by adding an extra chest compartment.

Got 2 figures today, Legacy Silverstreak (aka shattered glass Bluestreak in my collection) and POTP Rodimus Unicronus (Everyone knows it's shattered glass Rodimus). Silverstreak is pretty good with very tight joints and the only real issue being his box was a bit crushed from being shipped from the US of A. Rodimus is different with very weak feet that only hold him if he is in a squat but besides that he looks amazing with the rest of my Shattered glass guys, even if he is the second largest guy only beaten by Jetfire. I imagine Rodimus decided to build himself a mech or upgrade with the Matrix of Chaos and now is buff AF.
This guy absolutely deserved the leader pricepoint over Blitzwing - seriously, just fix his legs, maybe give him a butterfly at the shoulders, and do SOMETHING to make the underside fold up or integrate better, and he'd absolutely work better as one.

I'll admit I love how this figure looks even though he looks like he has Zaku tubes on his head mixed with a seeker, but my common problem will be and always will be this...yellowing, this figure is nothing but white, I fear for it overtime.

I recently got this. I'm impressed with the bot mode ,accuracy and detail. I have the same QC issues as well. Despite that I'm just glad we finally got a proper representation of this character. I have a feeling they will retool this sculpt for their upcoming metal hawk.
I guess if this is the one attempt he's ever going to get at Chug it may as well be an MP.

I’d like to see a orange and grey repaint to reference his previous figures/colours. It’s also odd that he has opening hands on a random voyager, I find this to be one of the better voyagers in legacy while it’s ugly to some the possibility and quality is great

Jhiaxus, THIS Jhiaxus, is an absolute behemoth of a character who can go toe to toe with Prime or Megatron and reasonably expect to win.
Not sure why this took me a long time to realize but the wings on his ankles remind me of Namor

I actually got this figure as an early gift for my birthday, and I must say, his general build reminds me of BB Movie Prime. I enjoy the figure, however I wish they gave him a more pleasant looking headsculpt. Also, strangely the QC on my figure is exactly like yours, which makes me believe that it’s more widespread.

I always give the extra weapons like that clear gun to other figures that didn't have proper weapons to begin with like legacy arcee. It might not be accurate but it's better than pizza cutter.

I figure that his alt-node is a cargo shuttle rather than a jet per se, with a couple of bulk cargo containers underslung. It's not like Skyfire or the Sweeps/Defcon or even Astrotrain ever gave a crap about aerodynamics, let alone any larger ships. Really, though, he's not far off the situation of the BB Movie figures where the toy designers pretty much just had to start from the robot mode and make whatever they could out of it, since basically the only thing that carries over between modes is his stripey cockpit, with not even the main color matching otherwise.

I really like this guy and I am happy we are getting comic only transformers finally. Oh also at 4:24 you said optimus never used the matrix but optimus was actually the first person and still the only person to open the matrix in a cartoon. It's In the G1 episode "return of optimus prime part 2". Hasbro is not going to try to replace optimus with rodimus again after the first try which is why future stories involving the matrix were almost entirely centered around optimus. Hence the matrix becoming important to optimus as a character, since every iteration after g1 has some kind of matrix that is significant to the character.

So I admit I didn't read through all the comments to see if anyone said it or not but this is the third Jhiaxus figure. The first was in the RID 2001 toyline as a repaint of the deluxe Jetstorm, then of course before this one, the thrilling 30.
You are the first to tell me what figure you are talking about when informing me there is a figure, and now that I know, I gotta say. Oh FUCK no that don't even remotely count.

I love the gaudy aesthetic of this figure, it was the main draw. Hilariously enough i have the exact same qc with the joints, and its super weird. They're at that really weird point where its not great but its tolerable.
Weirdly enough i think the way this transforms would work wonderfully as a seeker. It could be just me who thinks that though, and we should just let Jihaxus have this win of a figure.
I think it could work great for the cone heads, or maybe some Tetra Jets.
But hey if you like what you see, I don't get it, but you must LOVE this thing.
It's funny you mention his build being perfect for a seeker, because when I first saw the pictures of him released by Hasbro I was excited, not for Jhiaxus himself, but because I was convinced he was a pre-tool for Armada Starscream. Everything about him just worked in my eyes, and just needed some tweaks to fit his character.
...And then we saw Armada Starscream... And he looks fucking aweful. He's literally an upscaled, worse version of his Generations figure, and that makes me... So mad. Mad, and concerned, because if Starscream looked that poor, then I worry for Megatron and Optimus. I didn't even have plans to buy Jhiaxus, but the moment I saw the Starscream we were getting I just decided to buy him out of spite, and it just made me *MORE* mad because this figure's mold is so damn good. The legs on mine are nice and tight even if the elbows and shoulders are a tad loose, and the articulation is amazing, even having that shoulder articulation cheat mentioned in the video which I was quick to figure out and love utilizing for all sorts of fun poses.
Everything just works so well on him even if his colors are gaudy and horribly cheap-looking. Like, he's my favorite Legacy figure so far, and as someone that had no intention of buying him that came as a major surprise to me.
I'm seriously convinced with that blitzwing that they figured they would probably need another leader class so they decided on voyager blitzwing and figured it would work because in the last line there was a triple change or leader class so why not again?
I just got mine today and HOLY SHIT I LOVE this thing. I honestly didn’t even know that this guy existed until this thing was revealed but now I love the character and this figure captures him so well and I’m happy. He’s gonna be sitting on the throne that came with the Corination Starscream that I have, wish the crown fit him though. Also PLEASE don’t turn your hatred of Blitzwing into a running gag it’s already bad enough that you do Cliffjumper. I don’t own Cliffjumper but I own the Netflix Bumblebee and I really like the thing, probably my favorite Netflix figure of the ones I got. And for that he might be small and he might parts form but he’s still actually good and it’s ok that he’s getting a few retools and repaints, I mean it makes sense that they do that because some characters actually have Bumblebee’s body type so it makes sense that they retool Cliffjumper into them. It’s ok that you don’t like it but your hatred of it has gotten out of hand at this point. That last part had nothing to do with this video but I had to get that off my chest.
In the wing universe aka the most closest thing of in between the g1 cartoon and beast wars jhiaxus was the reason of the birth of many transformers like g2 ironhide, nightracer, mw starscream, mw hubcap and thanks to sky byte who jumped into the g1 universe and stole the rest of jhiaxus's pods and the bw predicons were born and one of them was tarantulas

Here's an idea. For Stop Motion, the smaller gun could perhaps be used as an inbetween frame from when he's summoning his weapon, like they do in Victory.

I've gotten it at the start of september in czech republic, for relatively decent price (as the exchange rate czk - dollar got worse) and I'm loving it. He's not exactly the centerpoint of my transformers collection, but he deffinitely is the main villain of my "g1 esque" shelf. The design, in my eyes, wonderfully conveys his nature of a fanatical warmonger who sees nothing but his ideology. The feral insanity hiding behind mask of arrogance, together with slight "marine" feel, it's got it all. When I visited the US, I've seen few of them in some Targets.

The reason why this figure is the way it is. Is because one of the designers got to work on this and it was one of his Favorite characters, so he tried to make it as good and perfect as possible. And that probably explains why cyclones is as good of a figure same thing goes with blaster, why they look soo good.
I mean that only explains so much, like 1 why did this get so much budget allowed for it, even if it was the guys favorite character.

I like the Idea of Jhiaxus being a scientist who made false information "proving" functionism as a viable thing. But the reason he's doing it is because he benefits from the system (but i can't find out a way to fit that in my own personal story). Also hyped for this

In short, you can hate this because of the figure look, but at the end of the day, this is still one HECK of a well executed figure.
And as for the gun.... The best guess I had heard is from TJOmegas. That the reason why this figure has his translusive gun is the same, as the reason why Bulk has an translusive mini-gun.

A bit off topic but an update I picked up the blitz wing and yeah I’m liking it a lot though the plastic does make me worry it’ll break in future so I’m being careful. I did end up finding blitz for $40 so it was easier on the wallet and felt more reasonable. To get back on topic I can’t wait to find the rest of the wave two figs cause Jhiaxus is lookin great to me.

This figure was definitely designed by people who love the character. Afterall this is the first original mold for the character so glad they went all out. I wouldn't be surprised if they release a repaint/retool of his comic book orange deco. The alt mode is definitely a dud, but overall it's an amazing figure that I'm surprised we got in 2022 with this level of gap fillers, moving hands ect.

From a capitalistic standpoint it kinda makes sense why they’re making all these one off characters hella accurate, since that way, they don’t have to do em again in a long while. We’ll always have characters that are relevant and that matter, they’re probably just getting these niche taste one off characters out the way just to later profit on their eventual rarity in the future. That’s purely a guess of mine.
There is a separate think you have to consider. Copyright. If they do a perfect version now, and have to make it again later to keep Copyright, then the next versions of these will likely be doomed to go poorly.
it feels like they went out of their way to make this figure better than most; he's taller than a lot of leaders, has one of the cleanest robot modes, they added those arm panels to cover up what would be huge gaps on other figures, and gave him opening hands which they just only seem to do for new molds once every blue moon, all for... jhiaxus. why? motormaster couldn't get any opening hands, even for the menasor mode, but a fucking voyager jhiaxus does???
It's a Conundrum why they thought Jhiaxus was in need of every dollar they had in the budget.
I hate how everything is pinned. I got a replacement copy with better tolerances, but his right elbow was so loose. But since everything is pinned, I can’t just swap the arms.

I don't recall Hasbro ever saying that opening hands were the "true sign" of a Leader (aka Ultra-class) or Commander (aka Super-class). After all, Studio Series '86 Hot Rod has them and he isn't Ultra-class or Super-class, he was Mega-class - and is sold with out the majority of his accessories as a Deluxe-class now!

I just watched a video showing the New stuff revealed at Comecon and it had the cybertron theme playing in the background, and I realized that the cybertron theme fits the whole astetich (i have No idea how to spell that) of legacy really well and by that i Mean the packaging and promotionel images. U can Even interpret the "our worlds Are in danger" line as refering to the diffrent universes the line is showcasing. (and if u dont believe me at least try to listen to the cybertron theme while looking at some of the legacy promotionel images. spesifctly (another Word i cant spell) the ones were the figures Are in that landscape with the sand and the props and also the boxart )
I like this figure. I relate to it very much, as in it physically hurts to look at both of our faces.

Thank Primus I found this guy on sale at $30. Before you ask, in my local Toys r us (yes I have Toys r us) its $50! Voyagers are $50... Deluxes $40, Voyagers as I said $50, Legacy leaders are $84, but somehow SS leaders are $72? Also, COMMANDERS ARE $130. I think I'm buying everything not here, it saves money and my appetite for collecting Transformers.

Many of the wing universe stories brings up that it is in between g1 and beast wars like the inclusion of obsidian and strika before bm, but i kinda wanted to talk about the g2 redux story where a new genaration of transformers made in earth was born lead by freaking pyro which in my opion is awsome with a heroic english accent and clench with a western bad guy voice which again is awesome, defensor and menasor had perish and streetwise and breakdown were the only survivors of the stunticons and the protectobots, sky byte came from the rid2001 universe abunch of sharktions follow him, pyro's friend rapido is spanish, some of the originals like inferno and jazz who were under pyro's command were g2ified and by primus pyro being the leader of the next generation of autobots before the maximal and predicons exist is still something i love so much

I think the reason as tl why the matrix is more associated with optimus nowadays is mostly retroactive general knowledge (now we know that being a prime is a rank you can gain thanks to being powered up by the matrix) and general gimmickry (it's added value in the figures and a way for designers to flex their ability by adding an extra chest compartment.

Got 2 figures today, Legacy Silverstreak (aka shattered glass Bluestreak in my collection) and POTP Rodimus Unicronus (Everyone knows it's shattered glass Rodimus). Silverstreak is pretty good with very tight joints and the only real issue being his box was a bit crushed from being shipped from the US of A. Rodimus is different with very weak feet that only hold him if he is in a squat but besides that he looks amazing with the rest of my Shattered glass guys, even if he is the second largest guy only beaten by Jetfire. I imagine Rodimus decided to build himself a mech or upgrade with the Matrix of Chaos and now is buff AF.

This guy absolutely deserved the leader pricepoint over Blitzwing - seriously, just fix his legs, maybe give him a butterfly at the shoulders, and do SOMETHING to make the underside fold up or integrate better, and he'd absolutely work better as one.
