Being a Feather player myself it put a smile on my face seeing her falcon punch someone out of the game like that, lol. Such fond memories.
Oh yeah, me also :D
"Demon Tribal Pharika"
... Well alright then
Well...i made an angel tribal Karametra deck....and it's bonkers
@@afspeellijstnaruto same I've made some really weird synergistic decks including a karametra artifacts deck
Feather is one of the best commanders ever printed in my opinion, simply because the deck is so damn cheap to build. It really allows budget competitiveness and I love that.
Yea, I was planning to fully foil my Feather Deck, then I realized there are some foils of commons that are absurdly expensive lmao
for me it's because her completely new designed ability changes everything. It gives Boros a cardadvantage that was a) really needed, b) is so much flavour and c) changes the point of view on so many cards. I mean, who had a crimson whisps in hand and thought "oh that's gonna be a good commander card?". Nobody.
But Feather changed that view entirely. She makes unplayable cards totally great out of a sudden
I just wanna say: I love it when games have all colors represented
How pervasive Golos has become its unsettling.
I hate out golos players immediately. lands matter decks get out of control so fast, because its not something you see a lot of interaction for at the table.
Bruna, an azorius deck - not a large amount of card draw
Feather, a boros deck - gimme all the cards
That shouldn't be the case since azorius has blue as part of its color identity and blue is the color of card draw.
ShinAkuma420 I believe white sword was pointing out the irony of how to game played out
@@frosty980 Ah I see, that makes sense. It's a shame that Ryan just wasn't getting those card draw spells, particularly Rhystic Study (if he has it in the deck, which I am betting he does).
@@Devilish420 Checked the list. The deck had neither Rhystic Study nor Mystic Remora. Could coulda dropped some auras for those.
@@RecklessFables Yikes, yea I agree with you there. I'm sure there's some useless Auras in the deck that could be taken out for Rhystic study and mystic Remora, hell even a dictate of kruphix would be good to add in.
7:21 ah yes, the famous backflip attack
Best way to attack with something with Vigilance imo
Underrated comments here
Completely overlooked this while watching. Good catch. lol
Game starts at 10:13
"Trevor dredges back his life again"
Poor Trevor... :'(
The only time I've ever seen Deadly Tempest actually kill someone with the assist from Field of the Dead
What an amazing game, I was sure Golos was gonna take this one, great come back!
As a feather player I’m always happy to see a feather deck win😁
Same! I always struggle to win with mine but seeing other people play their's gives me new ideas on how to tweak mine. I really like that Dreadhorde Arcanist. Will be sure to put it in my deck!
As a feather player I can attest to always getting focused down hard by wider decks before you get a chance to get her engine going.
ManjMau it does a lot of work it’s an auto include imo
@@ManjMau Helpful tip: if you look really close, Feather actually has an extra white mana pip in its cost. You ALWAYS hold up 1 white to show protection, even if you don't have it.
Did I miss something @ 8:45 when Ryan chooses with the trawler? The tap is supposed to be Trevors choice than Ryan sacs and chooses.
I misspoke. Trevor picked the first card, not Ryan. Sorry for the confusion!
MTG Muddstah gotcha! I kinda thought so but just checking haha
Mike with that tempest, what an animal.
I love it when there's a voltron deck in this channel, so I can learn a few things. I was sad to see Bruna took a while to get going, when she's usually kind of fast if you play a lot of weel and loot effects
Good luck doing that without red
Eliakim Rodrigues yeah idk about wheel and loot, but there is definitely a lot of self mill at least.
I built a $20 feather deck and let’s just say people sleep on Boros (for obvious reasons) and this just lets the deck get those easy turn 4-5 kills
i build a 15 euro feather deck just to see if i can beat the 120 euro deck my friends have :D still waiting for the cards. Do you have your deck list?
That was totally awesome! I play both Golos and Feather in my own playgroup, and usually get to those effects. Pharika's tribal was cute, and Bruna might be something I make an attempt to build next. Though my word...that was a very fun looking game.
That was a neat Pharika deck!
Normally Bruna on the board with no protection eats removal. But with Golos and Feather around she isn't as scary which shows just how powerful they are
for some reason i find that Trevor his decks are always ...well...more competitive or something
I wouldn't say it's competitive, but it's definitely a little too strong and consistent for this table. How often can you see a 5 CMC commander being casted 4 times in 8 turns... It felt so good to see the deadly tempest take him out xD
Trevor does seem to go for more streamlined decks. It does what he wants it to do and is quite focused. He does not seem like the kind of guy like I am who takes a removal spell or counter out of his deck because he found a weird janky card that could be funny. I could never find a slot for a counter in a 5 color deck lol but that is just me.
Point is removal and answers are truly how you win games and he has figured that out...even if this game was short lived for him haha
Also, having seen 100 Trevor games. He seems like the guy that wants to basically pubstomp people but doesn't have the balls to go full cEDH
Or he just likes playing powerful, synergistic decks 🤷♂️
You must have missed the episode when he played mono white Elish-Norn, I'll say that he's deck is built to be consistently high powered but looking at the past 15 episodes, the majority of players seems to have deck scattered across the spectrum from below cedh.
I am really curious as to whether you know Trevor in person to give you the audacity to judge his personality, perhaps you are confident the art of labelling people with magic playstyle ?
I wanna play big splashy spells as efficiently as possible, is that possible in cEDH? Serious question. Cos' Door to Nothingness does not seem like it would see cEDH play.
@@JDPower-ej3rx Then maybe he should play against decks with the same powerlevel.
@@DarthAthar These decks all seemed evenly matched. Trevor popped off early but they matched him and eventually took him out. Stop shaming people for enjoying powerful cards
So happy to see proper threat assessment here. Hard focus the lands matter player it is too resilient and reliable in casual edh...people dont want to be mean usually and let it do its thing, but don't. Kudos to the table for smacking it down
I totally get STPSng that Mentor cuz it makes prowess tokens, but I think Zada enables a lot of what this deck wants to do.
It's obvious in hindsight that Feather + Zada was going to be explosive with all those cantrips, but at the time, a quickly-expanding board of tokens seemed like it was going to be the bigger threat.
I might be mistaken but wouldn’t that have caused his own creature to get exiled too because of Zada’s effect?
@@cradthecrad7171 No, Zada is "Whenever you cast..."
Vian888 ahh my bad, confused it with mirrorwing dragons effect
@@sofer2230 not to me. Yes that stream of cantrips in this game was lucky, but that's exactly what the deck does/wants. While it may not rely on Zada, it certainly benefits heavily from it being in play from Protections or Haste or board pumping. Would've hoped for some kind of board wipe or something but it's not like the tokens were hastey boys. This is coming from someone who really wanted to build this way back when. But then Winota stole my Boros heart.
There it is again! The best playmate I've ever seen! BANG!
Golos is scary because no matter what you do he will ramp to bigger spells,if you dont deal with him he will just cast free stuff using his ability.
It always put a smile on my face when a deck which is clearly of another powerlevel then the other gets kicked out of the game first. Nice game Muddstah!
Hey Muddstah, as a suggestion I would like to ask (dunno if other people would like it tho)
Would you mind putting somewhere the date where the match was filmed? Just to be informed about what cards were available and what's not.
Keep up the great work!
Trevor cheated during his shortcut at 3:35 -- he should've paid an additional 4 life for the two shocklands used to cast Golos. This turned out to be pretty relevant to several later turns of the game, as he should've gone to zero after getting hit by Bruna. Bojuka Bog and merciless eviction wouldn't have been played, and Bruna likely would've had bigger swings in the turns following.
Good, crap on those Golos players! Get outta here! That Feather deck was monstrous.
Yeah, Golos was a mistake. It should never have been printed. Too much power creep.
@@thengine7 Is that still your thought after cards like Volo, Koma, prismatic bridge, Xanathar have been printed?
May i suggest an uplifting music in the background, and lowering the volume of the commentators voice. Awesome coverage of the game 🙏 it was what kept me in it
Two Angel Voltron’s, vibing and being badasses just what I like to see
Trevor, I love the deck. Have you tried an "All-in on Valakut playstyle"? I've had some pretty satisfying explosive turns where I double (or triple) damage for the turn, play several land drops and have 3 or 4 Valakut's triggering off of each one. I play it with a pseudo-control style, using the first Valakut or copy of Valakut to remove troublesome creatures or Planeswalkers, while wiping the board and removing problem permanents. I then build, over the course of a turn or two, the other two Valakut's, usually resulting in 3-5, and just flame spray the board.
That was 3 against 1. It’s was unfair hahaha golos is ridiculous.
Scrambling Claws' tap ability was misused, the player gets to choose for the tap ability
12:32
1st Scry - bottom
2nd Scry - top
Still did the third and fourth Scry
Harry follows through.
Awesome feather deck
The golos list is amazing!
For the most part that Bruna build isn’t the best it could be, I’ve been playing with a bruna end deck for a while now, and he certainly could do better if he swapped out some cards for some other cards but he did have a couple of interesting ones in the deck list that I’m gonna take a look at maybe including into my deck.
That's my favorite intro
"hhwhhhhhip of erebos" hah!
When Trevor exiled Bruna's Graveyard tho😧😂
As wise as it was to get rid of the Golos player (trevor) as early as possible, the other players didn't do enough to suppress the feather deck hence the feather deck snuck away with the win. Perhaps it was just that the Bruna deck wasn't getting the card draw needed to find answers, which is weird because it has blue and blue is the color of card draw -_-
Not all Blue decks are filled to the brim with card draw, and this was very clearly an Aura-oriented deck... I imagine exiling Zada instead of the Mentor would've helped but at the time, the latter seemed like the bigger threat.
@@sofer2230 true, but I find it disturbing that the bruna deck didn't have card draw enchantments like Rhystic study or Mystic Remora in it (I looked at the deck list and didn't see those in it), I'm sure there are Auras in there that are useless compared to having Rhystic and Mystic in there and can be easily swapped out for those two. Those could have helped the bruna deck out a lot.
I know I'm late, but where did ryan get his playmat?
Danitha aka Christy Mack. Can’t un see it now.
Sorry if of topic, but how do you use staff of domination in your darreti deck?
Feather pretty much negates the weakness of boros, ie. card draw - by playing a bunch of (what were once considered) trash instants and sorceries that draw singular cards while doing something else (like giving haste or double strike) and then recycling them. With Zadha or Mirrorwing dragon on the field, that just makes those cards, and Feather's ability to recycle them, all the more powerful.
gotta love them good ol' Jersey bois!
Loved golos
You can’t have pie without the cool wHip of Erebos. Giggity.
I see Feather and I click!
I have a question... What does the "next end step" means? Isn't that means like in the next turn?
A bit late, but it means the very next end step. Say you play such a card/effect during your main phase, it'll do whatever it says it will on your end step. But if you play it while already in the end step it will wait until the end step of the next player in line.
I want more MTGMuddstah merch! Make it happen my Canadian friend!
I truly loved the Gavi reference. Nice content as always :D
The game starts at 1:00
Golos is why I built Winota. Funny to see Golos players whine that they are being targeted :p
is there a up to date deck list for feather?
11:44 jjjjjwhip of erebos
As a brauna lover, I felt that bojuka bog in the heart
Yeah it was very upsetting.
Scrabbling Claws allows the target player to exile any card they want. The player with the claws doesn't choose the card
Yea, that was a mistake on my narration. Listening to the audio, Trevor picked the first card.
All these field wipes before bruna comes back is crazy to me.
Personally I love watching Trevor's Golos deck. My Tatyova Lands deck is getting a little concerned.
His deck is why mass land destruction needs to be encouraged more.
Tatyova is way better. I disassembled mine because one one game
In particular where I had 17 mana turn 4. Turn 5 I cast mass manipulation for 10 and stole
Everyone’s board and finally realized how nuts she is lol.
Eldrazi Conscription has Annihilator 2. Golos didn't sac?
Annihilator triggers on attack. Bruna has to be declared an attacker for her ability to trigger, so annihilator is simply a +10/+10 on her first attack.
@@MTGMuddstah got it. Thanks for clarifying!
How would we be notified if we won the giveaway?
The winner will be emailed by Flipside Gaming.
You gonna be playing again at shops anytime soon Muddstah? I’m loving the content, just curious how things are going in your area.
I haven't really made any inquiries about it. We're only just in Phase 2 in Ontario so I'm not comfortable with filming in poorly ventilated spaces still.
MTG Muddstah outdoor magic ;)!
10:05 justice....
For example, I don't think this deck should be running Dannitha. The reason why is because you're going to be getting Auras for free anyways, so you shouldn't be casting them. Instead you would save that mana for other things. Once you swing you get all of that
3:18 Made me choke
Self-shots fired!
@@MTGMuddstah I feel you though
Nothing's worse than getting screwed by your own deck
Cool “whip of erebos”
I can't wait to see how mutate will affect commander from now on
Well, I played a Feather deck in my meta and everyone complained about the card draw. I have a Golos build and everyone complains about how many lands I get. I used to play Bruna and she was “too powerful.” Etc. I’m not slamming my meta at all. The point is, if you belong to a meta, complaining about each other’s commanders is what we do. :D
Jersey!
I’m having deja vu
wuhu im excited
Por Golos, always targeted 😂
Won't someone think of the poor Golos player with their Lotus Cobras, Fetches, Loam, and Swordtooth openers.
I love/hate being that one player that draws the control of the other 3, because on one hand I made them all look at me, which means I must have done something right; but on the other I end up playing archenemy without the schemes :(
You mean archenemy, right?
@@eliakimrodrigues you're right, my bad
lmao I hate feather so goddamn much, should've focused on her instead of Golos, as oppresive as Golos is too
No trevor would have won in a turn or two promise
1:24 : "Danithhh"....!?!? Her name is Danitha. Da-nee-tah.
Good to know! Thank you.
I thought it was "Dan-i-thuh"
Game was Golos versus the table
Unfortunately that is what every game with a Golos at the table in a casual playgroup should be
I really hate seeing one person getting all the hate poor Trevor, but I understand why because golos is a beast of a commander.
I wish Golos were less consistent
I pulled a Golos and thought about building him, but after seeing how stronk he is I decided to tuck him in the 99 of my 5C Blink Allies deck.
Bruna is in my opinion the nastiest commander in magic. My buddies deck could beat probably every competitive out there right now. It's basically just ramp, self mill and then swing for a million lol. He literally wins on turn 3 or 4 every time he plays the deck. He's also built to ensure that his opponents can't do anything to stop him, while at the same time having an answer for everything. It's so ridiculously insane!
Azorious in general its pretty damn strong, when building one the first question its not "how do i win" but "how do i lock my opponets first".
@@phyrexian_dude4645 you are correct lol the rest of the deck is how can I get as many Aura's out my library as quickly as possible. Then swing away lol in my opinion she has the most broken ability for any legendary creature. He can legitimately swing for 50/50 plus indestructible, lifelink, hexproof, whatever, on turn 3.
FEATHER PAAAAAAAWNCH!
The most obvious fix to the Bruna deck would be to drop the two Enchantresses (since Bruna rarely CASTS the auras) and adding Mystic Remora and Rhystic Study
Maybe drop Land Tax for Leyline of Sanctity. (I'm putting this down because I'm thinking about building this deck, again)
I was so close😂
I was excited to see another Feather deck on this channel..... and was disappointed again. Wasn't built well, wasn't piloted well.
BOROS BOROS BOROS
Geez, the Golos hate is real in the comments. The video clearly shows that he can be stopped and hes not invincible. I admit it is nuts that hes like a recurring solemn simulacrum, which is why I think they need to make a card that's like notion thief but steals land search instead of card draw.
Haha, that would be hilarious.
@@matthewmcarthur4782 lol it would definitely be real powerful against landfall decks for sure.
That Golos deck is disgusting!
Da-nish? lol
Stop letting Golos player at the table. It's not fun to anyone.
No.
without watching the video, I'm going to guess Golos wins. Lands matter Golos decks are disgusting
Ppl with shity decks teaming up against the one with good deck build, claiming he's the boogeyman on the board. Nothing new on the front. That resumes mtg nowadays, everywhere.
Why would they not take him out of the game? Are they supposed to just sit down and let him win? That makes no sense.
Found the triggerd golos player.
@@jamespooh2 of course not, it's just boring to watch the same thing happening against the same guy everytime. They spent so much effort on focusing trevor down, and yet let the feather alone doing the shit shes supposed to do.
@@Mattatoskr nah, just find boring the same archenemy everytime against that dude. Just my 2 cents.
