This should've been called 30 Controllers to Beat Dark Souls With
Isaiah Rosales If you can beat Dark Souls with Maracas, you deserve to be inducted into the hall of fame, like all of them
I. Defeated darksouls with a steering wheel
And you were beaten by the guy who beat dark souls with Bananas. No, really. Look it up.
How about with toasters?
yeah it's possible to beat dark souls with toasters but it'll require tons of toasters.
some of these controllers are actually cool
2 2 fr
Cool, but still strange.
I didn't see a single one that I would call "cool". They are all a bunch of cheap plastic gimmicks. The only one that looks good is that realistic recoil gun but it costs appropriately.
@@imyourmaster77 I thought the mouse one was awesome
juan-jdra You sound like a boring tryhard.
the Wutang game has "Feel the pain" in the cover and that's exactly what you felt if you used that controller
Dylan J 😂 what I thought
protect ya neck...
"Taste the pain"
I collect weird controller, they get far far stranger than the ones you had on the list.
indeed they do. #14 (the hydraulic racing sim seat) isn't even bad or weird. That's actually awesome as heck.
Watch ur profanity
Play dark soul with it challenge?
let me see dotdotdot
no i really want to see them
No Steel Battalion controller? Or the Farming Simulator one?
Literally the only control I wanted to see
I came here to post the same the about the Steel Battalion controller.
I also thought Steel Battalion would have been number one
rodrigo davet same. Still got ours. 9 year old tried to game on it and got confused in a matter of minutes :)
I was also going to say the steel battalion controller. I own one and it always impresses people, tons of people dont even remember or know it existed
Who's hyped for the grease proof controller?
Not me, i never have grease but its awesome
Looks cool but I feel like it has no benefits under than eating and gaming which is honestly disgusting to think about
I think there only making a few of them so better get on it
Yall need games not another controller
Myst_Blaze I'm ready
"I'm not gonna make fun of it"
Smart move.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how great the Dreamcast Fishing Rod was?
Declan Decke Yes!
No mention of the Steel Battalion controller because it was so awesome?
It would be on a list of "Awesome Controllers" instead of "Strange Controllers"
I convinced my cousin his mom's vibrator was a Wii remote.......when she got home and saw him swinging that thing around trying to bowl I nearly pissed my pants laughing
"Controllers you don't remember"
"Power Glove"
GTFO
it's you PROBABLY don't remember you idiot
I am aware of the Power Glove
Never seen one in person
Who doesn’t remember the power glove like it’s very remembered
RayanImamiShark stfu EVERYONE knows what a Power Glove is
Regular Show
An up vote here for the chainsaw controller. It looks awesome, its display case is great too. If you try hard enough it can actually be used for gaming. It being related to RE4 seals the deal. The cheesy motor sound when you pull the rip cord ties up nicely with the in game figurines with sound you can collect.
#24 The ps4 slime controller bit got me laughing pretty good. That response was so petty I love it.
Also, please make more videos like this! Things that were created in gaming that the general public missed or didnt even know about. Love these vids
I own it and its a really comfortable controller
Therealxingend made a video on it
I have the dragon quest 8 remote. Its really uncomfortable. The plastic is really hard and the fuzzy material on the outside attracts a ton of dust and is really hard to clean. Not to meantion the triggers are on the bottom =(
"There's no way someone could hurt themselves with that!"
"Challenge accepted"
7:37 Who else thought he said “Thot powered controller.”
3:21 Falcon just went Aight Bet-
Falcon?! Can you ask Jake where the pizza he promised is at, I'm gettin hungry.
I like the buttons on number 6. Its a Playstation Controller but the buttons are labeled I, II, A, B. That won't be confusing if a game tells you to push X or O to do something.
Labeling the button I II or X O wouldn't make any difference and If your getting confused following basic button input commands maybe you shouldn't be playing video games
If that ist your first controller it would be quite confusing. I know my buttons. I played Playstation since the first one but good luck finding the right buttons if that would be your first controller.
It took me quite some time to figure R B and T on xbox actually.
riemaennchen if you're still having to look at the controller to know which button to press you might be a noob.
yeah when you're legitimately good at gaming you no longer need to look at the buttons, your muscle memory will do the work without you thinking.
just like with typing on a real keyboard you'll get good enough to a point where looking at the keyboard is no longer required to type.
the maracas made me laugh out loud for a solid 5 seconds. 🤣
"You probably DON'T REMEMBER"
IT'S SITTING RIGHT NEXT TO ME. IT CAME OUT LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO.
We all had one of these. Mine was the second one on the list. I love my X-91 controller.
Falcon's voice sounds less lazy in this video 😂😂
Really? I totally thought he sounded drunk.
@@Akael01No i mean compared to the usual voice its sounds a little bit, well umm let's say less drunk 😂
You noticed too... I was looking for this comment.
@@kenzito101
I watched the video again
Yep he didn't drink that day 😂😂
I actually played thru RE4 with the chainsaw controller. Was definitely a chore but was happy to have accomplished that haha.
Weirdest controller I used was my sisters vibrating controller she always kept under her bead.
Did it even connect to the console?
Probably wasn’t very big if she was able to hide it under a single bead
I don't think that was a controller.....
Under her bead? Must be a small controller.
@@Kyoto-P it was wireless dude, we live in the XXI century man!!
The Negcon is a real cool device. It gives you an extreme fine steering. Loved it with Gran Tourismo on PS1.
Gameranx: hey at the end of the video we should speed up how I'm talking 😂😂😂😂
I have the onimusha 3 controller. I'm looking at it right now. It's on top of my TV... Collecting dust....
how to use it if i may ask
like i still dont know how you can press all the buttons without lifting your hands like you are getting electrified
BLUE FIRE
You can't.
Its not impossible to use it, but it does handicap you.
The last time I used it was a couple of years ago, to play killzone on my ps 2. If I remember correctly...
If it is on top of your TV and you are looking at it, then it's doing what it does best: looking awesome. Congrats on it and I'm glad to hear you use it every now and then.
Listening to falcon’s confused explanations of these can be apply to so much in life. “Idk why it existed but it did” haha great vid👍🏽👍🏽
I love the resident evil 4 controller the best controller for ps2
7:30 Oooh.. I thought it'd be some kind of limited edition Rudolph controller.
Shut up and take my money. I'm getting this for Christmas.
I remember loving the Master Chief controller....maybe it was the Halo fan in me that forced myself to like it LOL. Sold it for a lot though.
Good for you!
A friend of mine actually had Samurai and ninja themed PS2 controllers. I can’t remember what they were from but they were highly detailed. The details were supposed represent weapons and clothing styles. They looked liked collectors items but they were fully functional and extremely durable. But they were extremely uncomfortable to use because they would make your hands raw do to how the controllers were sculpted.
And then you realize the "FREAKIN LASER IS BLINDING YOU, DAMAGING YOUR RETINAS"
The Colecovision controller is easily the weirdest one for me. It looked more like a Zac Morris cell phone than a controller.
I dunno, I like it
I always thought it was so awkward to use. Thought it was neat how you could slide different overlays for the controller depending on the game. You were screwed if you lost the card though, ha ha.
This is part of why I have never once actually used the ColecoVision that a friend of mine found me several years ago... the thing was still taped up in the styrofoam even though the box it originally came in had long since rotted away.
The other thing is I don't know if I have a TV that can actually handle that signal anymore? Probably not
Damn that AK74 really looks like an M16
Dude did you even actually use the Jogcon? It was awesome with R4
the negcon was a great controller that should be reinvented. loved that thing.
Who else remembered the power glove from regular show
Me
Are you related to Brian and Abagail snider?
The cheap blue gamestop wireless controllers for ps2
Tom Gaughan yeeesss I remember those!
when I was in basic training back in 2001 I got to use that m16 nes light gun. It helped to practice your rifle fundamentals and was the closest to getting to play a video game during basic training.
A more recent one is the Steam controller; the direction they took it in with the dual trackpads is an odd choice, but it surprisingly works really well for most games.
I find first person games and top-down games to be exceptional, but games in which the camera is behind the player/over the shoulder, I find those to be difficult to control with it.
the army uses real rifles as controllers now, obviously not with live ammunition, but compressed gas that simulates recoil whenever the trigger is squeezed. it was pretty fun, just wished the projection had higher resolution - they probably have 4k now, as I trained with it 8 years ago.
I'm pissed he called what was CLEARLY an M16A1, an AK74U..
Nah the est hasn't changed at all and it still doesn't work
@@dillosdojo3909 right wtf was that
Namco Ngcon #6 Twist is how you steared your vehicle, it works good. even works on my PC
And he forgot to mention it came out before they had control sticks on the playstation controller
Yes Wipeout 2097 etc :D
The bit about the Halo gun controller was really funny. I would not use this as a gun. or a controller. If it worked as a gun, an actual gun, I would not buy it. Hahaha
Honestly love you guys so much, I love every video y’all put out
The Duke will be remembered as the most uncomfortable controller for my 7 year old hands
Because you were a 7 year old bitch. Jk, nah but seriously.
i always loved the Duke. Still have my original and bought the new one for the xbone, looking to get another actually
Sorry you have girl hands, the Duke is for man hands.
I hope SCP: Containment Breach doesn't come out with their own SCP controller...
Thank you for teaching me something Gameranx, I had NEVER heard of the NES Hands Free Controller before. There is one on EBAY right now for sale for about $2800. I would have to imagine it will continue to gain value.
Oooooh the snes bazooka!! I loved that thing!
7:21 the thumbnail (what you probably came for)
Thx
Atari 2600 controller , basic as hell but did the job .
Also it was indestructible. It was over engineered and over built. Those were the days.
I own a few of the Microsoft controllers for PC on the sidewinder series that were pretty weird and out there. There was also that tank Commander controller for the Xbox game that was like 4ft wide too
that ball like controller feels confortable
Oh god. Dont talk about those light ass fragile controllers from the 90s
It still beats me why SONY thought the boomerang was a good idea. If they hadn't listened to gamers Microsoft would've sold 100 million 360s
If you throw it, it flies back to you. Isn't that what gamers could dream of? :D
Falcon's commentary on this is the absolute best.
I loved how as the video went on you could tell that Falcon's patience was wearing thin. Made watching this even more enjoyable!
And I worked at GameStop circa 2002~2006... I've seen some effed up controllers in my day.
Mostly MadCatz garbage licensed ones... but man oh man, that Halo controller was uncomfortable as heck!
3:00 i see that one everywhere tbh
7:13 theres a reason it says feel the pain
The master chief controller actually looks very beneficial. I really wanna try it
I had a Gcon. it took some getting used to but I got quite good at using it on the PS1 racing games
Hyperkin: We mixed the Xbox and Super Nintendo controllers
Hori: Do I look like a joke to you?
PowerA and 8bitdo: *cries outside the window*
No mention of the cockpit controller for Steel Battalion on the original Xbox? How disappointing
Man in Tidy Whities
Because that controller was actually amazing
The Negcon is one of the best controllers i ever used for playing racing games. I bought it with wipeout 2097 and i loved it.
that Boomerrang PS3 concept one when i saw it in a gameinformer mag when the PS3 was on the rise for release, I wantged that thing lol. Looked interesting to me
#6, The NeGCon, that thing was brilliant! I shit you not! In racing games It gave a level of control not possible with any other hand held controller available at the time. I wish they made a modern day version.
Agreed, I had one too, worked well for Rage Racer.
Rally Cross too, much better precison over the cars, really elevated the game experience.
Sarkazmo Loafy
Didn't they make two? One for the ps1 and one for PS2?
I don't remember a second Negcon. There could've been but I simply don't remember it.
Am I the only one who wants number 30? Yes? Okay . . . I'll take my leave then.
I want it.
That shit was actually pretty dope
I looked it up on Amazon, it's not available
I looked for it on Ebay. no results...😢
3:52. hey. i loved that controller. it was so comfortable. and the button placement was like a skuff before skuff was a thing
The Namco neGcon controller was the best! We strictly used it for the Wipeout series. It was so natural to use for anti-gravity racing.
I'm waiting for toaster controller
awesomejf03 wanna play in the bath also?
What's the background music
killmonger 7555 The opening music I’ve heard before 😀
Blon- inconforme
"looks swollen" lmfaoooo
I love these kinds of videos i always learn new things
LJN Roll 'n Rocker not was included...
The forever iconic, but weird, controller is the Nintendo 64 controller.
Gamecube one too.
I bought the Power Glove when it first came out, "Wireless gaming" (that was wired) didn't really stick too well, and it had a full keyboard which didn't make sense since no games utilized it for anything at the time. I only owned it a day or two, then returned it.
i still own two namco neGcon controllers. before the analoguecontrollers "dualshock" as they were called later, they were the only way to have analogue controlls in racing games so you don't always steer, brake or throttle with either full steering angle, full throttle or brake or noke at all. they made sense in a way, though they were a nightmare to set up with all those deadzones and getting used to play with them.
Steel Battalion on the original XBOX. 40 buttons of straight up madness
Thumbnail is 7:20
For a while I’ve wanted a twisting controller. I just feel like it would add comfort.
I had the U-force for the NES... Cool concept, never could get it to work right.
Also had Steel Battalion for X-Box
I had a wireless PS2 controller that had fans built in to keep your hands from sweating and a joystick that screwed into the D-pad for games that didn’t use the left stick. It was huge and took like 6 AA batteries but it was soooo worth it
Worth*
"My mom loved Valium and lot's of drugs"
Jogcon was really fun at least, that and the negcon that twists in the middle for ridge racer were great! Good times!
This was funny to watch. I get maybe keeping the run time short, but still I like the "This was a thing, it sucked. NEXT!" kind of attitude towards some of them.
Why wasn't the Steel Battalion controller in this list?
Sharks Don't Have Bones
Ya they do their just made of cartilage
Fair, I should have said that. But I am way too lazy
@@raec1684 lol
I had the gamester fps master controller I had to cut off the trigger guards to be able to work it best lol but the best part about it whitch this video doesn't mention is that there buttons on the inside of the handles that your middle and ring fingers can access, and you can map these buttons to do actions like open doors, throwing grenades ect ect while your thumbs stay on the analogs and your forefingers stay on the triggers. Was a great controller, should of kept mine
The neGcon controller worked above and beyond for racing games. It only took about 1 minute to get used to and suddenly you could play Wipeout or Ridge Racer with an unparalleled ease.
I'm early let me tell a joke
Fortnite
Ow.... That hurts me.....
Best. Joke. Ever.
That1NonluGuy Villain That’s hilarious!
Dude that was awesome 😂
You mean that game that's incredibly popular and has already made more money than you'll ever see in your life? You mean that Fortnite?
Hi
How is the Steel Battalion controller not on this list? That thing was epic.
At first I was like "oh these aren't too bad." Then we got to the final 12 and I'm scratching my head.

Yay the only controller I owned on this list was the Donkey Konga bongos and they were surprisingly good. And nothing bad to say about it on this video either.
That Gamestar FPS Master controller was legit. I loved it. I wish I could still use it.
I remember seeing an ad for the re4 chainsaw controller for the first time and was confused and intrigued at the same time. It looked cool but I knew it would never work comfortablely.
Sole purpose: yet an other collectable.
Thank you. I saw some old friends I haven’t seen for a long time.
I actually would have loved to play an FPS game using the that ps controller with the trackball. That seemed to be really efficient!
Novint Falcon. Had really unique force feedback/tension. You could feel different textures.
By the end of the video Falcon sounded like he was tired of all these horrible controllers, like "whose idea was it to do this horrible list?!!!"
