    Bargaining: Yes! My husband says “Baby don’t talk” once they hear my American Accent- the price goes up. As long as I don’t talk- they think I am a Nigerian because I dress to fit in😊 Love Shoprite and Chicken Republic.

    As someone who grew up in Nigeria I have to say with 100% certainty, there's no how you cannot enjoy the country despite the hardship.

    Welcome to our dear country Nigeria 🇳🇬 Our vendors are great evaluators in detecting signs of monetary values from customers.
    They do that to us, visiting Nigerians in diaspora no matter how you dress locally to fit in. They can still tell from your mannerisms, reactions to things and mixed accents.
    I don't go anywhere close to the markets. Thank God. I have siblings who take care of that part for me 😂😂

    😄😄 as a Nigerian, this is an honest assessment of our culture TBH. You got every point spot on. The bargaing part got me. Very funny but so true. We even see it as being weird if someone gives us a price for goods and is unwilling to have it beat down. The reason people in remote areas avoid supermarkets. Nice content. Enjoy your stay.

    I’m thinking of moving to Nigeria and west Africa generally. Westerner here. I’d be interested in info on things to do with practical things like visas, setting up a bank account, taxation etc. Great content thanks.

    Lovely video. You've definitely gotten the hang of what goes on and how to survive the culture there. Could you make a video of what made you move there?

    Let me help you how to bargain in Nigeria.Generally you bargain till dey tells you can go, when that happens, attempt and act like you’re leaving, if you pass the price that the worth, they will not call you back,that’s how you know you got the best price.Go back and purchase the items.

  • @gamrpresident
    @gamrpresident Před 2 lety +8

    I was just laughing about the “bargain” part. Honestly they do that to us Nigerians too, that’s why we let women do the buying 😀😀. Your looks and dressing might increase the price of goods you want to buy but immediately they realized U know the koko, they will give you the actual price. Anyway well done and Kogi is very close to my state. Keep it up.

    Nigeria is hot , so are other parts of the world. Why do you guyz always emphasize on how hot it is in Africa as if they have control of the weather. My state of Texas and Arizona are hotter than any country in Africa. For you being a Canadian it may be different but the global warming has changed the world’s climate from what we experienced 3 decades ago. I have come to observe that it is typical of tourists visiting Africa to be judgmental about the weather.

      @@DianaRodriguez-jp8dx the question is disrespectful and not the response. I see it as part of European or western pomposity. The first thing I will tell you if you say you are not from Nigeria is, 'welcome to Nigeria '. That is one thing you in the west do not know how to do. Shame
