Great video! Wanna know what the fuss with the statue was? After 1991 Colombia became a secular country. Bucaramanga is home to many universities and a growing agnostic/atheist population for whom the idea of spending tons of public money on a massive catholic statue does not sit well. The government of the time tried to "fix" the problem by renaming the statue "Santadereanísimo" (Bucaramanga is the capital of the Department of Santander), but few people bought that. It was built at the end, the city has a more decent government now. Everyone is kind of happy now.
Bucaramanga is a great jumping off point for visiting the nearby national park, also known as “Panachi,” where you'll find tons of outdoor activities. The park features green landscapes, a deep canyon, and the dramatic slopes of the Andes.

Chocó, its capital is Quibdó (there the Afro-descendant population is 98%). And cities in the Colombian Pacific such as Buenaventura or Tumaco, where its population is 90% Afro. They have been mistreated and truly ignored territories ...

Hey Ace, thank u for coming to my city! you should go to La Mesa de Los Santos, (its really close from Bga, usually 40 mins by car) in there you can go to the Chicamocha National Park and also you can drink some of the best colombian coffee that its produced on those lands.
And if you have enough time, try to visit some of the nearest towns around the region. I’d highly recommend u to go to Zapatoca, that is like 1 hour away. In there you can go to the Mirador Guane, one of the coolest places to watch the canyon, the Campo Santo, and also in the town you will see the panoramic of the city!

Oh and also you can go to El Embalse Topocoro, there you will find a lot of activities related with water sports. And don’t forget to try the local fast food, we have the best burgers in Colombia!!

This is great Ace. My pop is from Bucaramanga. I didn't think you was going to go over there. I haven't been there since 2006, and I already see that it has changed ever since. Last time I checked the neighborhood Cabecera was more of the luxuries area of Bucaramanga (you probably went there already). So check the night life there. While you at it go visit Cucuta, it's like 60-80 miles from Bucaramanga. From there you could see Venezuela since it borders there. Just wondering, did you take a bus, a train, or you flew there? Just wondering. Anyways gave your video a like and I'm going to share this video with dad, who also lives in Florida (Kissimmee). Enjoy. ACE LIVE!
