Last surviving Māori Battalion member arrives to Waitangi

  • The Waitangi Treaty Grounds played host to 98-year-old Sir Robert “Bom” Gillies and his whānau. Tā Bom remains the last surviving member of the 28th Māori battalion, who fought during World War II.

    Amazing man looks younger than he is, He speaks of Peace not War which is Wisdom however NZ finds itself in a stupid War backing the same ideology that he fought against?
