This video accomplished just what I intended for it to do, ruffling people’s feathers. I posted this out of boredom and I’m glad I did 😂😂 Some of y’all shouldn’t take other people’s opinions of a celebrity so seriously. Or music. This is all entertainment and you don’t have to agree. It’s ok if you don’t. My opinions won’t change lol. My opinion for this particular topic remains. Beyoncé is not a country singer. Texas Hold ‘Em is a nice song, but it ain’t country music. I 100% agree. Everyone saying “Beyonce has a right to make country music” is completely missing the point. Of course she does. No one is saying she doesn’t. What she doesn’t have a right to is airtime on country stations. Country stations are catering to a country audience who expect to hear legitimate country artists who make country albums and play at country concerts. They aren’t down for the A-list pop stars that play on every other station to make 1 or 2 songs with an acoustic guitar to now invade their airwaves, and the DJs know this so they don’t play them.
This isn’t anything personal or unique to beyonce it happens in every music scene, just like the jazz stations aren’t going to start playing Adele just because she comes out with one jazzy tune

@@Ignasimp (1) This isn't a country album. Actual lyrics from the album: "I ain't in no gang gang but I got shooters and I bang bang" on "Spaghetti"; "Bounce on this sh_t dance dance, Bounce on this shi*t dance dance" on "Riverdance" -- the electronic drums, the synths, the layered Enya or Imogen Heap-esque vocals on virtually every track, the slapped funk bass and sub hip hop bass lines... Being generous, it has 4 country songs -Texas Hold'em, Protector, Jolene, Just for Fun - out of the 27 tracks on the album. Have you listened to this album?
      (2) Taylor Swift actually was once upon a time a legitimate country artist. She made country albums, out of Nashville, from a country label, played acoustic guitar and sang about her everyday life. Multiple country albums. No synths, no sub bass, no trap drums. Genuinely country.
      (3) Miley Cyrus was played on country stations?
Go listen to this album by Beyonce; it isn't a country album. It's not a bad album but it's just not the genre known as "country." The vast majority is overproduced, repetitive, algorithmic pop with a country-ish sound. The current state of country, Beyonce being no different, is exactly the reason many country fans stopped listening and supporting the genre. No one is limited to the genre they started out with. Just because her voice doesn’t have a thick southern drawl doesn’t negate her ability to sing country songs. Her interpretation of the music does not have to fit into a cookie cutter mold. She is a Texan and very well could have grown up singing country music all day as far as we know. Beyoncé’s country amounts to “All hat and no cattle”. I liked her song “ Daddy Lessons” and I stopped listening to country radio or watching country awards several years ago when I saw that some of my fave country music artists took issue with Beyoncé performing there. Dixie Chicks, I kind of understood because they’ve been blackballed for nearly 20 years ( even though they are still loved and missed in the country scene). Rhianna, Taylor Swift and SZA are out doing (in number’s) so bad that they’re trying to compare her to Nicki Minaj (who is also doing better) to save face. Last month, everybody was saying Beyoncé is the Queen of Rap, and as they are doing now, they started showing past pics and video of Beyoncé rapping. Well, everybody knows Nicki Minaj holds that title and fans and non- fans even had to bring them back from that delusion. Since that didn’t work, this month is she is country and now they show pics and video of that. Since Bey was a young girl, she has repped Texas and rap culture. Yes, she said they couldn’t take the country out her, we’re from Texas, we country. However, “country” and “country music” are two different life styles. Now, they’re trying to make it seems she’s doing this to reclaim the music that was taken from us. Y’all can be sheep but Jay and Bey are about opportunity and money.

Now if we can just get SZA to help write a manga that is later turned into a great anime series - my day will be made. 😂 If you don’t like the work , that is fine. I loved her last album but I'm not personally feeling these songs because I know what country sounds like. Yes artists can try new and different categories of music, why not, she's beautiful and talented but putting country music with lyrics does not make it country alone. It's also how it's sung. A majority of Beyonce's fans don't listen to or cared for country music before
this album dropped but because it's Beyonce doing country suddenly they're in disagreement with it not being country or anyone who says otherwise. Listen to Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Pasty Cline, Dolly Parton, Jimmie Allen to name a few and you would understand what I mean. Another thing is country artists tend to be more conservative in the way they dress and carry about themselves. She came out representing country yet dressing almost nude!! Not sexy, almost nude! I will put the link below. Yes she is entitled to do as she pleases however as a mother of two daughters there should be self respect!! I was in disbelief when I saw it!!
