LADIES!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look into Midwives...if not, at least a doula to speak up for you when you are at your most vunerable state. The pain scares us away, but hospitals are a business and they do not care about you forreal. Csections are big money, there is a reason why it's unnecessarily pushed.
All of this!!! Ladies unless you have a medical issue, please go to a birthing center or a home birth if preferred. It's so much better. Your experience will be much more natural and less painful.

Welcome to capitalism. They got the job because they want to make money to have a chance at a livable wage than flipping burgers. It the same we seeing with companies doing whatever they can to increase their stock till qualify it out the wall. Look at Boeing airline where their shortcut cost lives. We see a huge decline in everything being made as people just work for a soulless company and as the employer they care less in return and it all goes out the window. You not award by going the extra mile no more. It more about who you know and chance. Hard work get you know where but knowing how to work the system get you everywhere. Like we always award those behaviors now and so we see everything falling apart including morales.
@@msovaz77 Yep. Some people are drawn to those jobs to help others and give back to the community, others just see it as a way to gain a position of trust and power over others.

As someone who enjoys people talking shit about their jobs and customers, I see a lot of medical professionals trying to jump in without realizing the difference between a potentially traumatized patient asking for help and a retail customer not understanding how coupons work.
Just an opinion. But I feel if they wanna trash talk their patients, they should just do it in private with their friends and family. Not on camera for the world to see and then posting it on TikTok where their faces are recognized.
That’s what they get. It’s even more disheartening that most of them are black nurses knowing the track record of the treatment and mortality rates with black women and black babies in labor and delivery.
This is ironic by Georgia also being the leading state in (black) maternal mortality. There should be an independent documentary featuring these horrific stories! I want to do it.
As a RN I personally take every offense to other medical professionals treating our patients like crap, not responding to needs, and down playing pain etc. I fight for my patients like they are my family because I’d want someone to do the same for my family. People are people. We are all here to spread God’s love and compassion. If you’re not doing it for that compassion and love for God’s people, what are you really doing it for? That’s the ICK 🤮
I agree. When I see medical professionals behaving this way that’s ick. They are being so cruel and heartless. If they hate people so much why do this job? Go work in the factory and be a robot.
@@truth_hunter Every woman I know who became a nurse is sooooo full of hate. There are also forums online of men discussing how they will never date another nurse because of the vile things they seen exes do.
I have a sister who just became a nurse and through the years I’ve watched her become more and more like this. She has become rude, arrogant, and thinks everyone is a pain in the ass, and constantly bitches about her patients and their needs. Like bruh, it’s your fucking job. This is why when I was a L&D NURSE I was that ONE that spoke up for the patients and I made sure that not only the mom was always comfortable but the whole family!!!! And if a mom ever lost a child and they were religious I would always pray with the family and ask them what they wanted to do. I was always told "if you are too nice to THESE (certain people) patients, they will take advantage of you!!!" I'm sorry I thought that was MY JOB!!!! I had to leave and went into hospice care. I remember a patient that I had their granddaughter ended up being one of my old L&D patients and when she saw me, she said "Oh my God, i know you. You were one of the nurses that helped deliver my baby. You were the BEST outta all of them. You were the only one that seemed to care!" Hearing something like that makes you feel good and crummy at the same time because it makes you wonder "Why are these other people in the medical field if they don't care?!"
I don’t get it. Even the hardest of hearts can soften for someone who has lost their child. There is no pain worse than that. How could you add to that by being rude to them? I don’t even understand how it is possible for people to be so cruel, but it does happen. Bless that poor mother.

OP referenced the medical field and I included what I’ve seen displayed; that the lack of empathy extends to those who are meant to lead these individuals and thus should be exemplifying empathetic behaviour as they took an oath to do so.
My mother was a labor and delivery nurse for 25 years and her Ick was coworkers more worried about being on their phones and gossiping than taking care of their patients.
Same here.. my mom has been in L & D for 40 years. She'd say the same. It's mostly the younger nurses that are the problem. They are completely violating HIPPA by gossiping about patients but they never receive any punishment for it so the problem just grows. It's sad.
Was a multi-state, licensed medical imaging specialist (X-Ray, Nuc Med, Nuc Cardiology, MRI, PET-CT) for 37 years at over 50 clinics, hospitals, offices in some of the US's largest hospitals and can honestly say I saw very few malcontents in our collective patient care profession. IMO, nurses were some of the very best. I miss them in my retirement.
Man, I thought it was in my head. I was induced and my call button was ignored. I was in so much pain and I knew I had to have been dilated but no one came till I screamed really loud because I was crowning. How lazy and cruel for them to ignore the button and my cries that long.
Some nurses are so f in arrogant. Taking care of patients is literally their job! Especially ruining the experience of the birth of a child! What a$$hoes.
THIS. The same thing happen to me and my mom.... my call button is ignored even though my mom was in pain, no one comes even after more than 45 minutes so afterward, I always go to the frontdesk. They obviously don't immediately gives us what we needed ( that's another 1 hour or more ) but at least by going to the frontdesk, I'm not the only who is annoyed.
This happened to me. It was 10pm, and I hadn't been checked since 2pm. I had the nastiest nurse I've ever met. I felt a lot of pressure and asked her to check me, and she said "no" and that she'd check in an hour. She came back in TWO hours, and I was fully dilated. Who knows for how long. He was stuck in the canal and needed intervention to come out, otherwise he probably would have been born with no staff in the room.
And they are followers I notice most people in most workplaces still act as if they are in junior high they never got past it and they never grew up A kind of side eye adults with too much social media on their devices

Right after I gave birth to my second son, he stopped breathing in my arms and I told the nurse that I thought he wasn’t breathing and she said, it’s just all the medication you had! So I jiggled him again, still not moving or breathing so I yelled “he’s not breathing!” That nurse literally huffed and stomped over to me resentfully and checked on him….guess what, he wasn’t breathing! They whisked him away because he was in severe respiratory distress and nearly died. You did amazingly for your baby.
Oh how awful. Same thing happened to me with my preemie baby choking and she told me I had to wait because she had other Moms to deal with. I could barely walk after having my emergency csection. I could not get out of there fast enough.
As an MD anesthetist this is so unethical. I’ve kicked nurses out of the labour and delivery room. Minorities are under treated and have a higher risk of complications. Nurses and doctors have to listen to these mothers more!

Get serious. It's slang terminology. Were you called a "baby momma" to your face? Women have been called "momma" or "mama" for decades before you started having children. "Baby Momma" is a relatively new term for the United States. The term is of Jamaican-Creole descent and is used now for any woman who has children, whether married or not.

They tended to me around the clock until I finally got my pain under control and slept. We see ya’ll and we appreciate everything you do 💕
Disgusting but what about carers who cannot be struck off and the public do not get antsy about as they are just carers they are still in a position of trust
Medical care is NOT a simple customer service job. People are VULNERABLE. None wants to be naked or exposed in front of strangers but that is what it takes to get medical care. A MOTHER will always remember the day they give birth. Don't make it harder than it already is.
Yes! One time there was a church member who was in the hospital emergency unit so we went to go visit him, but I was really questioning the way the nurses treated the patients. They really seemed to not care about their privacy or feelings. While we were leaving, there were some bed ridden patients who were just laying there with their private areas and legs completely exposed and the nurses did not have the curtains drawn. It was my first time in an emergency unit so I wondered if this was normal but I suddenly started thinking that maybe hospitals and hospital staff are not such a place to trust

I work from home now supporting pregnant patients with complicated pregnancies. There is an extreme lack of compassion in the medical field. Every day, no matter how annoyed I am with whatever patients, I push myself to remember they are seeking help and are PEOPLE. What if I was in their position. At that point, I'm good and treat them with the respect they deserve.

My grandmother became a nurse after watching her mom die in hospital (it was so long ago, it was called The Hospital for the Incurable- it was basically a hospice) and was so touched by care of the nurses there, that she felt a calling towards nursing. She was an orphan, and her family had no money, but she pulled herself up, and was able to complete nursing school and was an amazingly compassionate nurse. I think my favorite story, which isn’t really a story at all, is that if her hospital would get homeless people or people who hadn’t bathed in a while, they’d have my grandma take care of them, as she was one of the only nurses who would take the time to bathe them, and get the knots out of their hair, and the grossness just wasn’t a factor for her, because of her compassion for all people. I just shudder to think that people get into the medical field for the money, and not because of a personal calling to make a difference.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I say this all the time. There are so many commercials advertising the healthcare field as if it's hobby lobby like " you need money, we'll train you in 6 weeks, start earning soon" the message is always centered on money not quality of care

Worked in OB/GYN. None of us ever treated our patients like that. We would not have stood for it, and neither would our doctor. We all fought over who got to hold the new babies first! Exactly! So much can happen or go wrong fast, these are not the nurses that you would want to be depending on...I can't imagine how triggering it was for the mother to see the same nurse in the video. Just wrong.
As a “black” paediatric RN that works in the NICU and in the Mother and Baby unit this is very embarrassing and discrediting for nurses especially for black ones. Yes, there are times patients and visitors can be annoying or even disrespectful but that is not a reason to be unprofessional and post videos on Tik Tok about the profession. I know I’m a good nurse and wouldn’t disregard a mother, father or visitor’s concern as they know their body and their baby. These patients most of the time are in stressful situations and Nurses are supposed to support them through it. They’re are still great black nurses out there I work and worked with many of them. Those nurses are free to say how they feel about their job, but not smart to do it on social media.
What’s up with all the black talk who cares y’all gotta move forward from that shh yes I’m black but damn it seem as if color isn’t the issue anymore but social-media is
@@brokenchainsofsatan2817 Social media is part of the problem. Those nurses chose to post the video on social media though. I mentioned colour because 3/4 of the nurses in the video were black. Also, it’s not about me moving forward, skin colour doesn’t matter to me as we are all connected and one anyway, some people aren’t aware of that though… so I was only stating the obvious.
@@essencemil I got a headache reading that comment are you trying to say you mentioned race because some people aren’t aware that race makes a difference? I’m confused due to the contradiction in your statement. Lastly you said especially blacks meaning it’s embarrassing discrediting for all but hits a bit different for black. That statement indicates that you feel as if being black and a nurse put you in a different category than being just a regular nurse
There’s a difference between venting your frustrations with your coworkers off the clock and putting patients on blast for things that happen during their most vulnerable moments. The times that require the most empathy. Makes you feel like you really can’t trust the people who are supposed to help you, nursing and healthcare isn’t just a job. If you don’t love working with people (even people you don’t like) don’t do it.
Sadly the country and the world is going through a ever worsening nursing shortage. Medicine is a tough and honestly emotionally exhausting job and most people can't "take it" which lead to one of the most understaffed fields in the country. Did you know that the average nurse is in their 50s? All I can say is let's hope we get that robot caretaker thing going soon, the baby boomers are getting older everyday.
News flash a lot of the upper level jobs are workers that were the mean girls or the bully. For instance, a lot of the people in the medical field have a background of being the “mean girl”
@@hottstepher a robot caretaker will not give you the stupid comments that humans have the audacity to make when in any position of power. Until some bozo will give them AI and the 'sass' will also come in there.
It is so sad this is happening in the medical field. About 5 years ago I had to have emergency surgery and I had a couple nurses who were really nice, but another who wasn’t. The only time she was nice to me was immediately after my surgery. I kept to myself most of the time and only pressed the call button when I needed to. About 2 weeks after the surgery when I had to get the staples removed, I went to the doctor and a nurse took me in and I told her about my questions. She seemed nice to my face but the minute she closed the door I overheard her tell the doctor “She has a lot of questions” in a very rude tone. It was my first major surgery and I was upset. I felt like it should be only natural to have questions after something like that. If you’re in the medical field, I get that you encounter many stressful situations throughout your day. But please remember that your patients are human, too. If you work in a hospital or similar facility, your patients are coming to you on some of the craziest days of their lives and they may be feeling scared or anxious. Please be empathetic.
Lmaoo the joke about nurses being the mean girls from high schools is true. Black female nurses talking negatively about black female patients makes me sick.
I worked for a hospital in security. The things the nurses said about the patients was insane. 98 percent of the staff was not there to care for their patients. In fact they disliked most of their patients.
I am a nurse. Recently while on a trip I had a horrible fall and hurt my ankle. I went to a local hospital where a friend worked and was diagnosed with a severe sprain, but no broken bones. I was able to get home, but fell 3 times with the crutches I was given. Still unable to bear weight after a week I went to a specialist and found that I did have a broken bone. Then learned that the nurses at the original ER were discussing me (HIPPA violation) and said that I was 'faking' my injury. There are waaaay too many "mean girls' in nursing.
@@KeepingItNealit’s unfortunate, I had so much respect for nurses. Whilst there I did come across a couple good ones. Unfortunately, some of the good ones were burnt out due to the failing medical system and short staffing. It just was hostile to be there daily, and of course, as security we got to deal with the very best patients 🫢. Anyways, I’m sorry to hear of your fall. I hope everything is all healed, or healing well. I’m glad someone was able to help you.
As a nurse of 30+ years I’ve never understood how any of these healthcare professionals doctors included are not violating hospital policy by placing anything online related to their jobs.
I think because it doesn’t technically violated HIPPA if they’re giving out personal information about a patient that could easily lead to the identification of who they are but I understand what you mean. I don’t think they shouldn’t be allowed to post literally anything about their work. Like some of the content I’ve seen medical professionals make is educational and could really potentially help someone. For example, sharing their knowledge about uncommon symptoms of a heart attack and that women are more likely to have these more abnormal symptoms. That way people are more likely to get checked out when those things occur. But anything that’s like complaining about patients, especially normal concerns and questions, like that shouldn’t be allowed. Anything that’s too personal… probably shouldn’t do that either.
Aside from just being totally unprofessional, I suppose they didn't violate HIPPA specifically but your employer tells you not to post shit like this so they have justification for termination
Absolutely-as a nurse I would NEVER put a patient or their family members on blast on the internet. Have I joked around with coworkers? Yes! But never online or even with my non-coworker friends. I take my job seriously and want to treat my patients with respect and give them dignity in their most vulnerable moments. I have also been on the receiving end of nursing care when my daughter suffered a catastrophic stroke at age 6. I know I most likely didn’t act like the perfect family member, so I would be horrified if I heard nurses online calling patients from the hospital we were admitted to as “ick”. If those are things you feel comfortable saying online, how far would you go in secret? Where is the line drawn? Nursing has long been one of the most respected careers. If people aren’t careful, the reputation and respect that are 100% due will be removed and nurses will become a laughingstock. It’s hard enough to be heard by patients and physicians. Let’s not make it worse for ourselves! We don’t need to go online and act arrogantly. That’s my 2 cents. And one other thing…it’s really bothering me that they put “addition” instead of “edition”. Good grief.
Tbh this is why I don’t care if a doctor or nurse is black or white I’ve had shitty doctors of all races but my family doctor who goes above and beyond for me is a white woman and she’s the only one I trust completely now, regardless of race the care the doctor and nurses provide is what matters most
Mines is Filipino, she is everything, she gave me a paper to write down any nurses I didn’t like from the hospital after I experienced early labor signs, she kicked them out and had her own team for everything, she came from home to see me and even sent me to the hospital she knew every doctor at just in case my baby came early, her team is phenomenal you can’t even tell I had an emergency C-section, she is the only reason I want to have more children
That's great for you that you've found caring healthcare providers, but that doesn't diminish the fact that medical racism is real. Furthermore, the Black women in these videos only represent themselves. They do not represent ALL Black people. So please do not take this trend as an opportunity to imply that it doesn't matter what race your doctor/nurse/medical providers are. While there are, of course, decent non-Black providers out there, the reality of mistreatment based solely on race by non-Black providers is real. So ultimately, it does matter in many cases.
RN here🙋🏾♀️ When I tell y’all that we are taught NOT to do this in nursing school, I mean before even stepping foot into a medical setting we are told that this is grounds for immediate termination, losing their license, lawsuits and possibly catching a charge..I’m absolutely shocked that they thought this horrendous idea would get a pass🤦🏾♀️.. None of them saw the massive train wreck coming? I mean they were actually dumb enough to NOT wear masks? She showed her full face??
People have done stupid things, and it's almost to a point where foolishness is normalized, and doing right is criminalized. These women knew better, yet they chose to demonize their patients for the world to see. The prime example is in the video where one lady said that she recognized two of the nurses. Umm, what a shame? Emory, you all need to do better.
There’s way bigger issues in healthcare nurses who are drug addicts and sexual abusers are given passes all the time. Them speaking of general annoyances isn’t a HiPPA violation
@@Marz859 exactly. People are taking this out of proportion. They did not violate Hippa. We have a nursing shortage, and nurses working in poor conditions who are underpaid yet this is what people want to make an uproar over? It's sad
I know a few bullies from my high school who went on to nursing school. They completely lacked empathy. It horrifies me to think of those type of people working in that field.
I gave birth at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago. Every single nurse that was involved in the care of me and my baby, from triage to the NICU, was amazing. Some were white, some black, some young, some older, every single one treated me with dignity, respect, and compassion. I remember after a long labor each one of the nurses in the room coming up to me and congratulating me and telling me how well I did. I was a tired, emotional mess and they took time to lift me up. I went in with a fear in the back of my mind, being a black woman, that I wouldn't be treated well and my pain would be minimized or ignored, and thank God it was not. My heart goes out to women who were treated poorly during labor and delivery.
@MsAnseide I had the very same experience. Not a birth but a surgery and I was treated with the utmost compassion and respect. Diverse team, all of whom kept me informed at each and every step. Amazing after care. This is why I only use Northwestern hospitals and physicians for all of my care even ophthalmology!
I had both of my children at Northwestern in Chicago and I lived in Indiana lol the experience was great. I didn't want to leave, I tried to make excuses to stay, The food was great they watched my baby while I slept and recovered. If I have any more children I will go back to Northwestern in Chicago
Yes it's the culture that need to be fostered. Every one have the capability to be humane and compassionate, but clearly the culture in Emery is money minded.
As a retired RN I am so saddened by this. Treat everyone with respect. When I mentor new nurses I advise them to treat people how they would like to be treated. I know I can hold my head high.
I am a former NICU nurse and I could tell you horror stories about how some of the labor and delivery nurses talked about their patients. So glad these nurses got fired. I worked with nurses that should have been fired too. So sad for the patients. I also was recently hospitalized and the care I received from the nurses was atrocious. It's scary out there these days.
Everyone should file a complaint with the nursing board. If they don't want to do the care they were licensed to provide, then the license needs to be restricted.
I hope this stay viral and that these women never ever find another job in the health industry...they need to go to a burger joint with their medical degree's, we don't need them or want them
I did actually get a nurse fired for abusing me a couple of months ago (my Dad also threatened to sue the care home that I was in at the time), so there's a little bit of justice for you, at least. 😁
Another issue with this, I'm a person who feels I've already burdened people with my simple existence. Seeing videos like this sends a message to people who've felt or feel like I do, it sends the message that our fears and negative thoughts aren't just in our heads, we aren't being over dramatic. These nurses here are showing us that we are a burden to them. Who am I supposed to trust?
I felt bad for calling the nurses for any reason. This just justifies my fears. And my family doesn't have that great of a track record with nurses to begin with.
100%. I think this is just a larger issue online. Some people can be extremely hypercritical of others and don’t think before they post. That feeds into other people’s anxiety. And, chances are, if you already have that level of anxiety, not caring isn’t as easy of an option.
Only to black women....the United States of America has put black women in thier cross hairs and is relentless is crushing us....and its mostly done by black women to black women
When women are most vulnerable-- and it matters for the life of a woman's baby that she be healthy and happy to care for them!!! Why does the world do this to women and babies?
@Aashka_The_Empath after my first baby I stayed home with midwives! I could not find a midwife the first time-- then I didn't dare get pregnant again til I found one. The next 4 born at home. Actually, I went into labor on the way to my last prenatal appointment with one and he was born at the midwifery house. Grandchildren also born at home.
I'm from Zimbabwe, a majority brown nation, but this problem also exists there. The healthcare professionals being the same skin colour as you doesn't make them treat you any better if they are determined to be as nasty and evil as possible.
Funny how women who don't need a c-section are pushed to get one yet when my mom asked for one because she actually needed it they refused and almost killed both her and me during delivery
I was friends with a Nurse who works in a elderly home. The rude memes about helping elderly people and constant selfies at work every day was so bizarre to me. I finally stopped talking to her. She’s just miserable, evil, selfish and with a ego.
It's the total lack of empathy for me. Giving birth is the most stressful, scariest, painful time and the fact they think it's "annoying" is fcking nuts. Excuse me for asking how much my baby weighs while I'm still holding them, I'm a little out of it, I DID just push a human being out of my body with the most passive aggressive, condescending nurse aiding me. And I'm a _little_ doped up. Please forgive us for "ick"ing up _your_ day. 🙄 at least now everyone knows if one of these women walk into their room to request someone else.
Absolutely. My labor and delivery was complication free but it was still intense. I had a doula and midwife and it was a very suppprtive experience. There weren't other laboring moms in the ward so i had about 5 nurses helping me and they were all amazing. Every woman should have this experience
It's becoming all too common now adays (even beyond L&D). I've come to a point where I just flat out refuse to see any nurses for an appt. I simply have the worse luck with them treating me like anything but garbage.
That’s crazy. I’m an nursing student and I just finished having my clinicals there. I wasn’t on that floor, but what those nurses said was messed up. This is one of the reasons why I want to be a labor and delivery nurse.
Good for you, we need more caring nurses. I won a Daisy award last year but TBH, I'm just doing my job. It's crazy how so many uncaring ppl enter the medical field.
I've had many traumatic experiences with hospitals But one I'll never forget is when they let my friend's baby nephew die just 3 months after he was born 💔 He was having trouble breathing and fever sometimes. He was taken to the hospital time and time again. Every single time, they would brush it off as "flu" and not even check on him. They would say he just had a weak immune system and is having trouble adapting since he was still so young. They said it's normal. A lot of babies go through that. But it would get better. Every day my friend came to class sadder and sadder and the baby only got worse! They would take him back but always have the same reply. Only the nurses grew more annoyed and cold each time. I ran out of comforting words to say and eventually just felt like a hypocrite for ever saying them It took a freaking autopsy to finally determine that the baby had a growing tumour obstructing his little nose and preventing him from breathing! 😡😖😖😖 That traumatized me to this day. As I was still in high school trying to comfort my teenage friend from this! I have asthma and don't even want to imagine what it would be like for a little baby to have their breathing obstructed FOR DAYS and have all those people around you, but no one helping! And babies can't tell anyone! They can only cry, but crying makes it worse. Those doctors and nurses let him die for days of slow suffocation! WTF man??💔💔💀 He didn't have a freaking "weak immune system". His little body was just collapsing bc he couldn't fckng breathe! Actually, he was a fcking warrior to survive for so damn long under those conditions 😕 I still feel agonized just thinking of it again. Me and my friend never spoke of it. She just grew more and more distant with time. Pushed me completely away and got mad bc I kept promising her nephew would get better. As if I ever could promise such a thing Sorry but those "people" should be called murderers instead We lived in a very small town and hospitals made us feel like if you or whoever you love ever get seriously sick, there's no hope for any of us in there. We could consider ourselves dead 😕
Only 800mg of Ibuprofen after a csection??!!?! That was torture 😮 I can’t even imagine the physical pain that she was in😢Then she had to deal with the heartbreak of her baby dying on top of the awful bedside manners and lack of respect and compassion from the nurses 😢 This is so disturbing and heartbreaking
I just gave birth in Feb can assure you most doctors no longer give pain meds for c sections at least where I live. It's barbaric. I was completely shocked by that.
That’s what they gave me with mixed in with perc. I was like this isn’t strong enough. They mix 800 Tylenol and try to only give you that. I was in so much pain. It’s ridiculous
My mom was in the hospital At university of Penn and a nurse was being very rude to her. Mind y’all my mom had a kidney infection. She was in a lot of pain. I came over to the desk and said something and then she didn’t have a problem anymore. She treated my mom as if she was too ignorant to understand and I had to check them. She was Black too y’all, I was disgusted. If y’all hate y’all job pack It the fuck up!

Managers etc HIDE AND COVER abuse neglect AND poor care! TRUST THAT THEY DO!!!
Yep, the hospital covered up two extreme malpractice cases they committed against me. I spoke to several lawyers who felt for me and said although I had a strong case, they wouldn’t take on a case against a hospital because they have too much income at their disposal for legal battles. They said it would be unlikely I’d be able to attain one without a LOT of money upfront and sadly they were correct. 😢

@@LikeUhVersion I do wish the best for you but to save your emotions, don’t get your hopes up. I had lots of documentation as well. I had open heart surgery, and when I came out of surgery, I had a massive bleed in my heart that they were unaware of, and they released me and sent me home on blood thinners. Throughout the next week I was in and out of the emergency room several times very obviously looking like I was about to slump over and die and numerous times they sent me home and told me to continue my blood thinners (despite an INR or blood thinness level of 9.8, three times the level they consider an emergency) and did not catch that I had a massive bleed in my heart even though I had just had open heart surgery. My heart got so full of blood. It couldn’t pump and I had a cardiac arrest. Worth noting the cardiac arrest happened when they left me unattended in the bathroom, I damaged my face smacking my head as I hit the floor and laid there dead several minutes before they came back to get me. after CPR, They got me back and I had emergency open-heart surgery to fix the bleed, I was in a coma for a few days after, and they completely ignored my advance directive paperwork (the paperwork that says what your preferences and demands are if you are incapacitated and unable to make your own choices) and refused to speak to my husband, or give him any updates when he is the person who I listed to make all decisions for me if I was incapacitated. This was during covid so no visitors were allowed, so he couldn’t come in. Despite that, they somehow made an acception for my unvaccinated mother to come in and take photos and videos of me on life support and send them out to people without my consent. Mind you, she’d been kicked out of that same hospital at one of my previous hospital stays there for being abusive to me when I was previously on life support and causing my heart monitors to go off/stressing me out. They made so many very serious and illegal mistakes in my care surrounding that surgery, I had indisputable evidence and I still couldn’t get representation. All that being said, I truly do hope you connect with someone who does the right thing and tries to help you win your case
I'm so glad that when I told my nurse that I felt like I needed to push, they came in immediately. Less than 10 pushes later, my baby was born. The only acceptable ick in the video is the baby daddy running between rooms. Everything else is standard patient care. Women are extremely vulnerable during pregnancy. Most of us don't know what to expect, even with classes. They should exercise compassion and empathy.
I felt like the family bombarding the nurses asking for random shit they could get at the vending machine was a bit valid but maybe not idk I’m not a nurse.

I work in healthcare, this is absolutely a big deal and so disrespectful. I’m glad they were fired. They didn’t need to be there anymore. Workplaces have culture and the culture there is lacking in patient empathy
this truly triggered my emotions. I’m 8 months pregnant and very lucky to have found a doula to help my partner & I through this journey but I’m so disgusted and upset by this. these are the exact type of nurses who make me so anxious about hospital birth.

Fr. My mom has her issues as a mother but what I CAN say, is she is a bomb ass nurse and nurterer. This makes me think why when she retired she said she'd never go back to nursing.
This is why I quit working in the health care industry if you stay in it too long you become , hardened, desensitised and a bit sociopathic. A woman in one home I worked in said she was allergic to nuts a care worker proceeded to give this woman a meal with nuts I reminded the care worker that nut allergies can be fatal she pretty much said she didn't care and that woman will eat anything.
Huh?! Was there a reason she just couldn’t give her the nuts?! I hate when people do stupid shit at work not realizing they are making their lives harder at the end of the day.
As someone who cares for animals as a job I try to be extremely careful about what I say about the pets in my care both at work and online. I can’t fathom thinking it’s ok to publicly talk about humans that way when you’re in a career position!

There is a lot of nasty people in the nursing home working with no empathy either and a lot of management is the same way. It’s so sad to see what’s happening. I’m a cna
I was thinking about this during the video -- where are these women going to find work now if another L&D department understandably doesn't want to hire them? I fear for the vulnerable in nursing home situations who get stuck "being cared for" by people who lack empathy.
I am a black woman and I was waiting on my then military husband to arrive at the hospital. A black woman nurse in L&D asked me if my baby daddy was coming. I told her no my HUSBAND is coming. The disgusting behavior of black women in power positions is seriously out of control.
Baby daddy is a disrespectful term as it is. I know it’s in some people’s vocabulary, but really, a professional would say, “Is the father coming?” No question there what they mean, and it doesn’t imply anything about marital status.
@@reflectionsinthebible3579 when I worked in the hospital we would ask if the lady in labor would have anyone to support her throughout the laboring process. It’s more dignified ways to talk to patients.
I’m so sorry this happened to patients. I’m a 54 year old white guy who is entering my 33rd year as a nurse. I did about 7 years in home health, 17 years in pediatric oncology in the last 9 years in adult kidney liver transplant. I’m very fortunate to have found my purpose in life as a nurse. Helping others has and continues to be a privilege. Part of that is the nurse patient confidentiality. People come into the hospital sick, afraid and anxious. As a nurse, you have to understand this will factor into the patients behavior and requests. It’s our jobs to show compassion and grace as we help the patients get better. Anything said or done by the patients during this time is confidential and should not be shared publicly for any purpose. Again, I’m so sorry this happened.
This is so sad my condolences to the two women who lost their little angels and I'm sorry for those who had to go through this terrible experience. I'm really starting to have second thoughts about chasing my dreams to become a nurse one day
If anything this changes how many people want to give birth, especially black women. Most nurses are respected and valued, and the others who make a bad name for themselves make a bad name for THEMSELVES. The only thing that made me change my mind about nursing was the long and stressful hours not the bad apples, at the end of the day you become a nurse or should become a nurse to help others, that is the primary goal. That was another reason I've hesitated about it as well, I don't think jobs like nursing should be looked at as just working or just doing something to get paid. In the health care field you are responsible for people's lives and should have a certain respect for the human life and empathy for others pain. This incident is an example of people who choose the nursing field just to get paid. Especially when they started on the 'icks' as if pregnant women have any control over what their bodies do at this stressful time and like if they have had or are planning on having them, they won't/ haven't gone through the same. It's the lack of empathy that shows that they never should have become nurses in the first place. Don't let these rotten apples keep you from being a great nurse, because clearly it's needed.
Do not give up on your dreams nurses have a calling and you should follow ur heart. Not all nurses are like this when I had my labor and delivery rotation everyone was so nice and respectful of patients idk how these people even went into the healthcare field.
This is so heartbreaking. My birthing experience was horrible I still have PTSD and my son hates hospitals. I’m glad people are talking about this because I’ve always been too scared to speak up
Your son would not have a knowledge of anything unless you told him later in life. People always try to say they have PTSD for anything and everything now. Let me get this right your were afraid to say something at the hospital , but was not afraid to tell your son something to make him afraid of hospital. See this is the reason the nurses had things to say about the stupid things patients say and do. Prime example.
I have tears in my eyes thinking how .. wonderful it is to be able every day to be kind to others... and how horrible it is not to realize the best part of our profession... (I'm an RN 30 yrs)
Yesssss I pray I can have a good birthing experience
All of this!!! Ladies unless you have a medical issue, please go to a birthing center or a home birth if preferred. It's so much better. Your experience will be much more natural and less painful.

You not award by going the extra mile no more. It more about who you know and chance. Hard work get you know where but knowing how to work the system get you everywhere. Like we always award those behaviors now and so we see everything falling apart including morales.

This is why when I was a L&D NURSE I was that ONE that spoke up for the patients and I made sure that not only the mom was always comfortable but the whole family!!!!
And if a mom ever lost a child and they were religious I would always pray with the family and ask them what they wanted to do.
I was always told "if you are too nice to THESE (certain people) patients, they will take advantage of you!!!"

The fact that it’s black women that are having the most problems with black nurses has me questioning, do black women even care about the lives of other black women? Are black women contributing to the same“black femicide” that black men have been accused of? This is literally a life or death field. I’m disgusted.
There is much dysfunction that is promoted by media etc.
Nope
💡💡💡
Probably black male worship..sad !
the answer is no. skin folk aint kin folk and race is a social construct
I had two traumatic experiences at hospitals. I’m a black woman and the black woman nurses and doctors treated me like trash. I was scared and exhausted and thought they would make me feel more comfortable and safe. They treated me like it was an inconvenience to hear my concerns
True some are no different from the white ones but I did meet such a gentle black nurse when I went for a Covid-19 test. she was so gentle. I thanked her for being so gentle it was so refreshing.
I learned to leave that race/ethnic stuff at the door when a black woman doctor misdiagnosed me with cancer at 26 and was ready to take out my uterus.
It was a Caucasian male doctor who saved my uterus at the cancer treatment centers of America. When the other doctor found out that I went there for a second opinion and they were going to run tests on me, she kept calling me and that doctor probing for information! He told me because he wanted my permission and I said absolutely not!
I’m terrified enough of the medical industry in this country. All these research papers and nobody thinks outside of the box because they all want to get paid.
That’s who you’re dealing with in the med dept. At the very end of my stay, there were black nurses and they all were rude or ignored me. The young black female nurses are like tht; not so much the older ones
Exactly. I have witnessed in my 40 years of living, that a lot of black people treat white people better than they treat black people.
Yeah same. I am AA woman and after I gave birth, a black woman nurse ripped my catheter out so roughly and made me feel horrible pain.
Being told we’re wrong when we say we can feel our baby is the worst feeling ever. Our bodies know when it’s time to push, we can actually FEEL our babies! It’s disgusting how many bad things are done to and about patients especially mothers giving birth 😞

I'm a black woman, not in the health field and my initial thought was "well, a lot of people complain about their job, but they probably shouldn't be on the internet complaining about it." However, if people in the healthcare field regularly provided decent care to EVERYONE, very few people would be complaining about the TikTok trend. Honestly, they brought it on themselves.
I'm glad they did this publicly, they don't need to be in the position to care for people.
Get em outta there. These are to cocky arrogant nurses all patients want to slap the dog ish out of. It was better when y'all were only allowed to clean and mop!
I’ve seen worse from colleagues….really embarrassing tbh, but sadly this is a common occurrence in nursing ESPECIALLY in the er
Nurses are often abused in the Healthcare field.
@@crystalsthefutureempress really it's not that deep. Did they put anyone's life in jeopardy because of this? Nurses literally get treated like trash
This is why it’s important to join a career you genuinely have a passion for.I feel like when people join a career just for the money they can tend to be careless and heartless.
Burnout in nursing is real. It’s a systemic issue. Many nurses quit within their first year and never return to the field cuz of it
My grandmother became a nurse after watching her mom die in hospital (it was so long ago, it was called The Hospital for the Incurable- it was basically a hospice) and was so touched by care of the nurses there, that she felt a calling towards nursing.
Most bw I know who want to be nurses only do it because it's good money and there isn't high competition for it.
Some nurses are nasty and rude no compassion
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I say this all the time. There are so many commercials advertising the healthcare field as if it's hobby lobby like " you need money, we'll train you in 6 weeks, start earning soon" the message is always centered on money not quality of care

Worked in OB/GYN. None of us ever treated our patients like that. We would not have stood for it, and neither would our doctor. We all fought over who got to hold the new babies first! Some of it was heartbreaking, too. I had a really rotten nurse in the ER one time, so I know the bad ones are out there, but the ones I know are first rate.
I used to be a housekeeper in the ER and Labor & Delivery and the lack of passion the nurses and CNA's had was disgusting. I am a recovery room nurse, so pain is my business. I am also a black woman and have been “dismissed” until I pulled my medical weight and made someone pay attention. I am embarrassed as a nurse. The intensity of the training we endure, then a certification exam to practice as well as other certifications is not for the weak. However, none of that supersedes compassion and empathy which can not be taught. We all have our “things” that can annoy us but never are we ever to project that on to the patient or their families. Caring for someone is about THEM,not you. I also think people put too much on the internet. This video is inappropriate and they got what they deserve. They are disgrace to the profession of nursing.
Thank you for your service. I've had LOTS of surgeries and the nurses in recovery are the best and most compassionate!!

@@bunnylacy2097 Totally agree.
@@bunnylacy2097they didn't say anything about HIPPA being violated, just hospital policy...
Right??? As a teacher I could lose my job by posting things about my students. And rightfully so!!

Mine is a white man and he continues to surprise me with how good he is. Doctors in general can be lazy, sending you off with meds you don't need.

None of them saw the massive train wreck coming? I mean they were actually dumb enough to NOT wear masks? She showed her full face??
Just being on social media in general? or is this challenge some sort of violation to rules/standards/hippa?
People have done stupid things, and it's almost to a point where foolishness is normalized, and doing right is criminalized. These women knew better, yet they chose to demonize their patients for the world to see. The prime example is in the video where one lady said that she recognized two of the nurses.
@MsAnseide
I had the very same experience.
Thanks for being positive. It’s not everyone’s experience ❤
They are also great in north Carolina the Charlotte City Hospital
Yes it's the culture that need to be fostered. Every one have the capability to be humane and compassionate, but clearly the culture in Emery is money minded.
As a retired RN I am so saddened by this. Treat everyone with respect. When I mentor new nurses I advise them to treat people how they would like to be treated. I know I can hold my head high.
Same here.
This is the best advice as they are required by law to answer any complaints.
Yes!!!
Preach sis I couldn’t have said this better myself ❤
I felt bad for calling the nurses for any reason. This just justifies my fears. And my family doesn't have that great of a track record with nurses to begin with.
100%. I think this is just a larger issue online. Some people can be extremely hypercritical of others and don’t think before they post. That feeds into other people’s anxiety. And, chances are, if you already have that level of anxiety, not caring isn’t as easy of an option.
These nurses forgot why they became nurses. I am a nurse, you are not the problem they are. You should never feel like you’re a burden as a patient.
I’m from Eastern Europe, and the abuse of women in labor is a thing. Sadly it seems it’s a universal problem 😔

I've had many traumatic experiences with hospitals
But one I'll never forget is when they let my friend's baby nephew die just 3 months after he was born 💔
He was having trouble breathing and fever sometimes.
I ran out of comforting words to say and eventually just felt like a hypocrite for ever saying them
It took a freaking autopsy to finally determine that the baby had a growing tumour obstructing his little nose and preventing him from breathing! 😡😖😖😖
That traumatized me to this day.
WTF man??💔💔💀
He didn't have a freaking "weak immune system". His little body was just collapsing bc he couldn't fckng breathe! Actually, he was a fcking warrior to survive for so damn long under those conditions 😕
I still feel agonized just thinking of it again. Me and my friend never spoke of it. She just grew more and more distant with time. Pushed me completely away and got mad bc I kept promising her nephew would get better. As if I ever could promise such a thing
Sorry but those "people" should be called murderers instead
We lived in a very small town and hospitals made us feel like if you or whoever you love ever get seriously sick, there's no hope for any of us in there. We could consider ourselves dead 😕

That was torture 😮 I can’t even imagine the physical pain that she was in😢Then she had to deal with the heartbreak of her baby dying on top of the awful bedside manners and lack of respect and compassion from the nurses 😢 This is so disturbing and heartbreaking

I was told to go buy Tylenol or Advil after my wrist surgery and was pushed out of the doors as soon as I woke up
That’s what they gave me with mixed in with perc. I was like this isn’t strong enough. They mix 800 Tylenol and try to only give you that. I was in so much pain. It’s ridiculous
Right? Now seeing that scar will forever be a reminder of that
My dr gave me only 5 days worth, on top of them reopening my scar due to an infection due to a staple

Exactly, I don’t get it. So many other jobs that don’t involve ppls literal lives. There are many book smart people with no empathy doing jobs that require it smh

I was recently fired for standing up for my patients and families. Nursing / healthcare has changed soooo much. I’ve been in healthcare over 20 years and it’s quite disgusting!!! People are who they are no matter what career they choose. I recommend everyone to take better care of themselves as well as be very mindful of what facility hospitals you choose! DOCUMENT ALL THAT YOU CAN! This is widespread! Managers don’t care! To think that these facilities hospitals etc aren’t aware of these people unprofessional behavior would be incorrect. Managers etc HIDE AND COVER abuse neglect AND poor care! TRUST THAT THEY DO!!!
I am an RN, have been licensed for a year and I completely agree. Hospitals are a disaster.
@@The_Great_Depressionwhich is insane because it’s people lives not burgers. Ppl have better luck suing a restaurant or fast food it seems. I’m glad that I kept my notes etc because they turned everything against me. No care for the lives being neglected and abused. Quite disgusting. I wasn’t sure if an atty would take my case so after a couple weeks I finally decided to actually begin consulting with attys. Hoping all goes well because it’s inhumane. I don’t know how some ppl sleep or look at themselves in a mirror. I wouldn’t trust them with a fish or self watering plant.

There are bullies at every job
I'm so glad that when I told my nurse that I felt like I needed to push, they came in immediately. Less than 10 pushes later, my baby was born.
The only acceptable ick in the video is the baby daddy running between rooms. Everything else is standard patient care. Women are extremely vulnerable during pregnancy. Most of us don't know what to expect, even with classes. They should exercise compassion and empathy.
I felt like the family bombarding the nurses asking for random shit they could get at the vending machine was a bit valid but maybe not idk I’m not a nurse.
@@thaloblue In a lot of Maternity wards (at least where I’m at) they only have vending machines in certain floors or the lobby. Also towels and other things aren’t in vending machines, the nurses should provide extra if asked for. The only acceptable pet peeve was the baby daddy one with two baby mommas.
Yes this. Women are vulnerable during pregnancy and labor. Where is the compassion? We need to advocate for ourselves. There are so many other safe way to birth than in the hospital.
@@thaloblue no it’s not, usually the reason family goes to the nurse is because the nurses haven’t helped and the patient has been waiting or they need something (again waiting for a while because the nurses aren’t coming), and if they can’t find something
PULL THEIR LICENSES PLEASE‼️
We as Black Women already get treated like dog sh*t in hospitals by palm handed ppl - it’s the WORST when other Black Women do the same thing and mock you.🤬🤦🏾♀️
Right
They want that validation from their white superiors it’s always been more disgusting when our own does it smh
Why does it always have to be about you? You’re not the only ones getting treated like dog sh*t! Get over yourself!
Palm handed people(???)....i swear we're the most racist breed on the planet, yet point the finger at others. Make since yall have yall experiences. Meanwhile I'm a black in ber 30s, treat all people basically the same, and have never had this bad treatment yall talk about "except with exactly 1" incident with white women jumping to conclusions. Meanwhile very jumping, every gun to my head, every rape, every traumatic thing that's happened to me has always been by the hands of those of the beautiful black diaspora. Reminds me how BLM actually started in Canada by two black lesbians, calling for blacks to kill white people,...for being white.....in a country where slavery (regardless of race) was never legal. But yall go ahead with this white devil narrative in the comments, I guess.
that is absolutely insane that a patient asking for food would be an “ick”. do you want them to starve???
I'm a psychiatric registered nurse. I have stories for days, never would i share them on social media.
As a RN, these nurses infuriate me. I don’t care the color of your skin. I tried to always take great care of my patients. These nurses are a blight on our profession.
It’s not just about the hospital -- I complaint about my job all the time but not online. Everything is not to be posted.
Give good and descent nurses bad name. I’m a nurse, I promise I don’t treat my patients that way. I work on an oncology unit, I am a big advocate for pain management. I empathize with my patients and their loved one. I pray for peace for those mothers who have endured such disrespect and neglect. ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for your good service 🥹😘

Fr. My mom has her issues as a mother but what I CAN say, is she is a bomb ass nurse and nurterer. This makes me think why when she retired she said she'd never go back to nursing.
You’re making a big difference honey and you’re greatly appreciated ❤️
Need more professionals like you who cares about their patients and work. Thank you for being a good nurse.
😮😮😮😮
My God
Did you report her? That shit is crazy…
Huh?! Was there a reason she just couldn’t give her the nuts?! I hate when people do stupid shit at work not realizing they are making their lives harder at the end of the day.
You not wrong about that. Compassion fatigue is real.
As someone who cares for animals as a job I try to be extremely careful about what I say about the pets in my care both at work and online. I can’t fathom thinking it’s ok to publicly talk about humans that way when you’re in a career position!
I was a teen when I gave birth to my first baby, the nurse came in to check me,after she was done, she put her whole hand/palm on my stomach and shook it around and told me,you have to loose this!!!!😢🤬I never forgot and it’s been 32 years 😢

There is a lot of nasty people in the nursing home working with no empathy either and a lot of management is the same way. It’s so sad to see what’s happening. I’m a cna
I quit my job at an assisted living facility for this same reason, no one cares not even administration
Thank you for being a CNA. That's one of the most difficult, high responsibility, low paid jobs. Bless you
We need cameras in the patient rooms to protect our elderly
I was thinking about this during the video -- where are these women going to find work now if another L&D department understandably doesn't want to hire them? I fear for the vulnerable in nursing home situations who get stuck "being cared for" by people who lack empathy.
Thank you l, you are appreciated more than you know 💝
I am a black woman and I was waiting on my then military husband to arrive at the hospital. A black woman nurse in L&D asked me if my baby daddy was coming. I told her no my HUSBAND is coming. The disgusting behavior of black women in power positions is seriously out of control.
Omg. I’m so sorry. What in the internalized racism?! That’s so sad.
Girl…. You did too much. Relax.
Baby daddy is a disrespectful term as it is. I know it’s in some people’s vocabulary, but really, a professional would say, “Is the father coming?” No question there what they mean, and it doesn’t imply anything about marital status.
They can’t assume relationships. That shouldn’t have offended you.
I'm really starting to have second thoughts about chasing my dreams to become a nurse one day
Avoid being hesitant of your aspirations, because of other ignorant people. Be the change you want to see in your field.
Honestly sometimes it just takes one amazing nurse to make someone’s day….be the change you want to see. Chase after your dreams.
Amazing nurses make the world a better place! Lovingly caring for others at their most vulnerable is an honor,it’s sacred work.
