- Marc Cohn and I toured together in support of his first record which was released in 1991 and it won him a Grammy for best new artist. After playing mostly in larger ensembles with various artists like Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Rickie Lee Jones and many others, this opportunity to tour in the US and abroad in a duo format was new territory for me. I found it musically challenging and quite freeing. I thank my dear friend, Marc Cohn, for not only being such a talented man, but also giving me the opportunity to play in such an intimate environment with him, in support of his wonderful music. That experience served me greatly in the many days to follow and was a nourishing and informative experience that I will always cherish. I am quite proud of this performance as it shows the connection the 2 of us forged by touring for many months as a duo and shows the natural musical symbiosis that has always been there. Every once in a while we still play music together!!. Thank you Marc!

My mother, who passed away in February, loved Marc Cohn! Some of my best childhood memories are playing in the living room with his albums filling the room.
Now, every time I hear his music, I see her. Thank you for that gift. P.S. fantastic rendition!
It s m'y favorite songs over all..and yhis version is just Amazing. DuDe
My other hometown,Austin city limits and Marc Cohn, Too much. John thanks
WOW! Not only one of my favorite Marc Cohn songs, but a SPOTLESS live performance! I've been following / appreciating Marc since this first album was released, but only more recently digging into what Mr. Pevar is up to, after discovering him as part of CPR (which is also an INCREDIBLE record.) Jeff, I expected great guitar work from you here but hey, your backing vocal harmonies were clean and perfectly delivered. Not everyone knows how to work mic-distance so well, but I guess a duo setting like this would teach that lesson quickly, if needed. 😀 Bravo to both musicians!
I have heard this a hundred times and it still makes my hair stand on end, such a beautiful and haunting rendition!
Jeff, what an absolutely killer performance.
My favourite song from the first album
Love this song
Two superb musicians at the height of their powers. A rare and wonderful discovery!
Thank you John!
Love marc’s voice and writing! Guitar player just perfect in the background! Sounds amazing
Absolutely stunning. Marc is simply one of the all time greats! Love him so much
Thank you for posting this - terrific song, brilliant artist and an exceptional performance. Alec, Seattle WA USA.
Wow! That was beautiful. Amazing guitar, and voices to die for. Love it, Thank-you.
think I was truly attracted to the music with this video of Ray Charles and Mr. Pevar doing 'the blues'...my my, thought we had great guitar player in our group years ago(and we did) but, love the licks and simplicity in this arrangement AND many others obviously that Jeff Pevar has performed through his career...way to go JEFF, very "tasty" bit of playing!...be well and healthy and live long .......(from a senior old boy of 76 old in CANADA)!!
Thank you Gerry!!
excellent!!!
I really enjoyed this video, the playing of Jeff Pevar really makes the melody haunting, What a performance!
I was lucky enough to record a concert from this legendary 1991 tour at Hamburg Musikhalle which aired on German radio. Was listening to that tape back then with my first girlfriend again and again, am still listening to it today, it's never lost any of its marvel through the years. The way Jeff and Marc interlinked musically in this musical outfit will always be nothing but pure magic to me. I always admired the understated atmospheric approach Jeff took here - and his sound is on that strat (and Twin Reverb?) is just pure gold. His fretless bass solo on "Fever" on that tour was one of the main impulses for me to learn how to play bass. Thank you for that, Jeff - I definitely owe you for that! Thanks for putting this up, brings back so many wonderful memories!
Wow beautiful post...thank you!
OMG!! Still, goosebumps and tears of joy at once--magic moments. Thanks ever so much! 💖 Warm greetings from Berlin!
Wahoo!

ha ha awesome!
This was freakin great man. Nice job 👍
So good! Jeff, if you happen to have the vid for The things we’ve handed down, it was my favorite from that show. You’re tasteful and almost atmospheric playing made that great song perfect!
This brings tears to my eyes. Well done.
Beautiful song and great performance by both. Greetings from Germany!
Hello!
I only began to exist a few years after Marc Cohn's debut but I really enjoy his music. And you're a great guitarist Jeff - your work here and with David Crosby makes me want to improve my own skills!
This was ALWAYS my favorite song by Marc, it always stayed in my head, even more then Walking In Memphis, True Companion or even Silver Thunderbird, ALL GREAT SONGS. This was an awesome live performance. Love how just a keyboard and a guitar can sound like a symphony. Amazing job.
Thank you. The chemistry certainly is there! Honored to have been part of this ensemble
Stunning collaboration gentlemen! And you picked one of my favorite songs from Marc to collaborate on... this is a gift to the human race for what we can be if we reach for only our best...wow...thank you for creating this, just thank you!
wow...thank you, Mark. Beautiful comment. Admittedly I am very thankful for the years Marc and I played together. Every once and while we collaborate and I hope it will happen again when our schedules align!
@@peevmania Well hello Jeff! I NEVER expected you to be here in person. May I just say Jeff, your guitar themes and riffs were absolute perfection my man...so good you made a grown man cry real tears at the beauty and joy of what you created here with Marc. Every time I listen to this recording I hear and see new things to appreciate! You're were both so good it's just impossible to appreciate all your artistry in one listening... This song collaboration goes on my permanent lifelong play list.
You didn't just make music here, you touched and I would say "shaped" hearts and souls.
Stunning work, real "lightening in a bottle" that's what the two of you together...bless you!
After seeing "Fever" from this set I started searching for the rest of this set. Thanks so much for this... and the story that goes with it. I've been studying what makes for intimacy, longevity, and satisfaction in making playing music... a reason for living...
Wow Alicia. Thanks for sharing your wonderful thoughts. I have been studying it too...may whole life and I will continue to do so with every breath! Jeff P www.pevar.com
I wonder if Marc remembers me and another girl screaming out at the top of our lungs when he began this song in Denver one night in the 90's. He did look up from his piano to see who these crazies were. I don't know what this song meant to the other girl, but it had great meaning of freedom for me! Still does. L
Thanks for posting! Awesome! The guitar playing is a wonderful study in subtleness.
Jeff was not on my radar screen until I saw him on a couch video duet with Elliott Randall. Now I'm amazed each time I find more on Jeff. And he always has fun, plays amazingly.
Thank you!! Happy to be of service! www.pevar.com
Seeing Marc In London next week can't wait 👍🏻
great song!!
This is incredible and awesome. I have heard Marc live here in Austin but not like this. I only wish I was at this venue. This song has special meaning for me and I am grateful you posted it Jeff. I hope to see you soon maybe on Marc's Winter Tour?
How sweet. Every once in a while our paths collide. I hope it will again. He's one of my favorite musicians and people ....
Was "Wash it away, Wash it away" added to a later version? (or was it in this song & I just missed it, AND it was added to a later version?)
wrong person to ask...but marc's a badass
Jeff, so many other artists would have served themselves instead of the song. It's difficult to bring musical precision to a performance while still giving the heart of a song free reign. You two took one of my favorite songs and did that. You know how an artist can make a song serve them by using it primarily to showcase their unique gift? (Mariah... Barbara... Most people who sing the Star Spangled Banner...) Then there are those who serve the song, who don't bring their ego's but rather their humility and the best they can offer in hopes of doing the song justice.
It's a big part of what makes this performance wonderful. Thank you for sharing it.
Charles
Thank you for your descriptive compliment!

Love you Marc - BUT - do not diss James Taylor
You are totally misunderstanding his sense of humor,... Marc is a fan of James and they have worked together
Poor sound!
