  • This is a brief video detailing what makes Alex's j.HP tick.
    I hope you can find some useful information in here and that it helps you play this god-forsaken character.
    Enjoy!

    3rd Strike has so much going on behind the scenes. I'm still learning new things about it 25 years after the fact.

    Useful information, as always. I had no idea that flashchop did different damage at different points in its animation. Also, that knowledge about maximizing stun combos on Hugo is really interesting.

      Regular ol' j.HP does, not the Flash Chop.
      Glad you found it useful! It was a learning experience for me too.

    1:10 it's because attacks scale subsequent dealt damage differently based on the strength of the button, or the use of a special. Lights don't scale, fierce scale a bit more, specials scale a lot. I don't have the actual numbers, though, i'm not sure if supers scale the same or even more than specials.

      Scaling can get super weird. With Remy you can do clMp > crMP on crouching but if you do super, it scales to the point where it does less damage than a regular one button confirm

      @maximepaccalet4449 Před 8 měsíci +1

      Ok, that's weird. That means that the cr mp scales so much that it ends up completely negating itself and a bit more. 😂

    A question. I'm new so sorry if the question looks so stupid. This happens with every character? And, This happens with every jumping normal or just with specific normals?

    Is my comprehension bad or did you get the later frame and earlier frame info the wrong way around? It seems like hitting deeper is doing more damage.

    • @SpitShineT0mmy
      @SpitShineT0mmy  Před 8 měsíci +3

      The "frame" in this case refers specifically to the attack frames of jHP, not the jump. ie landing the move on its first possible frame versus hitting it at its very end.

    • @VencabotArchive
      @VencabotArchive Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hitting it deeper means hitting it on an earlier frame of J.HP. Alex's hand starts above his head and, on the last frames, is way below him.
