instead of buying entire collections, just buy the characters you love, doesent matter what franchise it is, just a fun little crossover of your favorite characters throughout various franchises

That's what I've always done. I didn't realize it was contrary to what other collectors do. 🙃 Maybe my being a cheapskate has advantages.
Same as any "collectible" Buy what you like BECAUSE you like and enjoy it. Not for resale or future value which for the majority of collectibles is nonexistent. Nothing wrong with buying your favorite characters and having a few dozen at home and work but the people buying thousands of these aew going to wake up one day and ask "why did I spend all that money"

Collectors with 1K+ pops astound me.
Just stumbled upon this video via recommendation, really solid! Another thing that bugs me when it comes to pop collectors, is them getting hostile when you make the mistake of throwing out the boxes of the pops. I am an out of box collector who likes to display my pops on shelves, yet I don't have enough space for the empty boxes that come with them. I used to storage them in my closet, but as my collection began to grow, I didn't have any space left and decided to throw them away ( I was also a kid at the time and didn't know you were suppossed to keep them) . When I mentioned that I did as such various people labelled me as "insane" and a "fake collector" which kind of baffled me, as I buy the pops for the figure inside, not the package it comes with, and I also don't pay attention to the re-sale value as I purchase them for myself and not for re-sale purposes. Of course I'll try to keep the boxes of my next purchases this time around as they can be quite handy, but people throwing a fit over cardboard is a bit much in my opinion.

I got into funko. but only ever bought stuff I cared for. I have almost all the league of legends funko figures, minis. I have a ton of the Kingdom Hearts pops. never got into it to resell later. just got into it to collect cheap vinyl figures of characters I like.

That's is how we should collect! Collecting for fun is the way to go! So many people just collect to resell later. Sad.

I buy pops from Funko Europe and they are packaged the same lame way with carboard sorters ... and they always come good, ALWAYS. No one kicks or punches your box ... USA has poor delivery that's the truth. Sorry US fans but no one delivers badly in Europe. I shop from ebay uk. 99.9% of my orders come nice ... One or two times I got damaged boxes ... but the pop inside was fine ... Most people from UK even ship the pops with protectors.
