It kinda does. When you download a game to your ps4 you essentially download the game twice, then the console figures out what needs to be done and deletes the rest. So a 20gb game will still take those 20gb on the hard drive, but it will need 40 to be downloaded
As a GameStop employee, I wake up with excitement that I get to answer the phone every 10 minutes to people asking if we have the new consoles in.

Had to buy my 3900x for a $150-200 premium a month or 2 after launch since i had already sold my 2600x and needed a replacement asap. Scalpers are truly the worse. They have been emboldened recently and have been marking up hardware considerably more after the Animal Crossing Switch fiasco. They know desperate gamers will pay the premium. Its sad.

I bought my PS4 4 years ago during black friday, didn't open it until Christmas day, I was scared it was going to be a shitshow of me waiting for installs and updates, day comes, I'm on my third coffee and already boozed up, I unbox my brand new PS4, I hook it up, skip the connect to the internet stuff, pop in my Bloodborne disc. And it all worked. Like a christmas miracle I got the absolutely classic console experience of just connecting the console and playing right away with no install times. The best game of the gen no less.

I agree for different reasons. I say wait so hardware fixes can take place. Switch hasn't gone down a dime (granted that is nintendo they don't drop price) but if you waited a year there were several hardware fixes

I remember being part of the day one Gamecube launch back in Kansas. Mum and I waited outside of Target before dawn and there ended up being only 100 consoles available that day. We ended up in about the middle of the 100-person line and I got Tony Hawk 3, Luigi’s Mansion, Crazy Taxi, Wave Race, Super Monkey Ball, All-Star Baseball, NHL Hitz, and Madden. There was definitely a sense of community in the line that day as we braved the cold morning with blankets and jackets. Fun times. That was the only console launch I’ve ever ended up hitting day one but it was a very, /very/ special memory.
He's got a point. I briefly considered getting a PS5 this year, then realized that attempting to get one for retail price before 2021 would be an enormous pain in the ass.

I didn't get the Switch at launch but I got it on Christmas that year- and boy it felt like launch day for me. Even if I can't afford the system at the time I love watching launch day videos and seeing fans celebrate. It's such a fun and cool feeling. Like I didn't get the Xbox One at launch (got it 2 years later) but damn it was such a fun feeling. Plus it was the first system I bought myself, so it felt even better!

Don't know why, but it's starting to feel like Scott's style is evolving a little. Not in a bad way, it's still definitely a Scott video, but he's starting to put a lot more effort into his skits, while still keeping the videos informative. I really like it!
