Bangkok is one of the best cities in the world for street food, and in Thai extreme Thai street food tour, I met up with my friends Khun Tan ( / itan ) and Khun Tape ( / pongtap_lunlaman , who are food lovers and Thai food experts.
We went on an ultimate night street food tour, starting with a tuk-tuk, which I didn’t even know we were going to do from the beginning. It was a thrilling night, so much Thai food, and so much fun.
Later in the night we also met up with Chef Ton from Le Du: / cheftonn when we ate the extreme Mama instant noodles at Jay Oh.
Here are all the restaurants we ate at:
Sawang (ร้านสว่างบะหมี่ ก้ามปู) - To begin the night, we ate at Sawang (ร้านสว่างบะหมี่ ก้ามปู), a legendary restaurant in Bangkok for egg noodles and crab. You can also order their pork noodles which are delicious. I ordered ba mee kam boo, egg noodles with crab claw and the biggest size of the claw. Lim Lao Ngow Fish Ball Noodle (ลิ้มเหล่าโหงว (สาขาเยาวราช) - Known for their fresh fish balls Lim Lao Ngow Fish Ball Noodle (ลิ้มเหล่าโหงว (สาขาเยาวราช) is a street food stall in Bangkok’s Chinatown. Their fishballs are delicious and bouncy. Google map: goo.gl/maps/iU4XvV558812
Somsak Pu Ob (สมศักดิ์ปูอบ กุ้งอบวุ้นเส้น) - One of my favorite street food stalls in Bangkok is Somsak Pu Ob (สมศักดิ์ปูอบ กุ้งอบวุ้นเส้น), and they specialize in mung bean noodles cooked in a pan with pork fat, spices like Sichuan pepper and black pepper, and either crab or shrimp. Jay Hong Worachak (ร้าน เจ้ฮ้งก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่วรจักร) - One of the highlights of this Thai street food tour of Bangkok was eating kuay teow khua gai at Jay Hong Worachak (ร้าน เจ้ฮ้งก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่วรจักร), a back alley restaurant serving the smokiest fire noodles in Bangkok. Jay Oh (ร้านเจ๊โอว) - Probably the most well known late night Bangkok street food restaurant in the city is Jay Oh (ร้านเจ๊โอว), a university spot that serves an array of tasty greasy dishes. Love the Bangkok street scenes. Lived in Bangkok from 85 to 91 when there were very few ESL schools or foreigners living in Thailand. Lived in several districts, but loved Huay Kwang. I like how you demonstrate how some of the street cart vendors eventually expanded into small restaurant settings. Being a food lover and ESL teacher, my students spoiled me and treated me to the best food Thailand offered. I feel quite nostalgic watching these episodes. Thanks Mark.

Wished I had discovered Mark's channel when I visited Bangkok before. Total respect for the Thai restaurateurs filling every pot and plate to the brim, and making each with a big heart, to keep customers coming back for more.

This man features people, food and culture the likes of which most of us will never experience otherwise. He is always a joy to watch, he and Ying and Micah. They all have good, family values to share.They always bring a smile. I always click like even before the video and I just noticed there are actually clicks down. I can't imagine how unhappy some people are in the world that they would ever click to dislike.
PS. And he'd be more appreciated if people knew his back story. Always upbeat, he earned his kudos the hard way. Constant travel, walking miles and eating little when they could not afford to have better. Not to mention he is educated (they both are) and he has a talent for video and editing. He now supports his mom and Ying's mom. Such a decent man.
He does seem like a really pleasant person. Hard to imagine him getting mad. But I do get jealous how he gets to experience the world & the different foods it has to offer. *Eating sweet, sticky rice w/ Thai sausage & sweet chilli sauce*. mark, are you jello 😁? Hell, he's already there anyway. Im sure it wouldn't be hard for him to get some 😤😡.
I am finally gonna comment something on CZcams lol, I am Chinese and been stayed in North America ever since my teenager years, I go to Thailand every single year for around half a month or a month since I’m Theravada Buddhist, and I enjoyed the food more than everything, I just wanted to say that your videos are amazing and keep up the good work! I wanna thank you for the advices and spots you showed in this video. I followed this video as a guide for what and where to eat in Bangkok, when I went to Thailand last year.
I must say the Michelin star booth, which sold that black peppery glass noodles with shrimp and crab, was the best meal in Thailand by far and one of the best in my life (I have a little of a black pepper addiction).

I visited Bangkok twice several years ago before I knew this channel, after watching this video I feel like there are still lots of food gems in Bangkok looking much better than those described on many travel books . I miss Thailand so much! All thr good food, cultures and traditions... I miss it all. I wish we had authentic thai food like these in the states. It's not the same when you go to a thai restaurant and majority of the food on the menu is westernized.
