I saw an interview with Angus Young, the lead guitarist, and he was asked what he thought about being considered one of the best guitarists of all time and I'll never forget his response: "I'm not even the best guitarist in the band." Such humility.
The singer you were listening to was Brian Johnson, who joined after Bon Scott passed away. Consequently the first album that Brian Johnson sang in was "Back in Black" which became one of the top selling albums of all time of any genre. If you want to listen to a Bon Scott fronted song, then "Highway to Hell" is probably his most well known, though "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Big Balls" are both fun.

@@DianeJennings (Australian Band) This was the first time I've seen your channel and loved your reaction! I was a little surprised when you said you've never heard of AC/DC before. I think you would know some of their other hits when you hear them. They have a ton of hit songs, a lot are played at sporting events. Like others have said Bon Scott was the original lead singer but passed away. This lead singer Brian Johnson joined the band when they realeased the Album Back in Black, which did very well. I've seen AC/DC in concert a few times in the early 80's. Great reaction, you've got a new sub! Keep up the great work!! It looks like you're having fun with your channel which is great to watch!!😉👍🏜
This song deserves to be experienced in one of their live versions. Live at River Plate is particularly amazing and the crowd is mind boggling.
The River Plate performance has to be one of the greatest concerts of all time. And I say that as someone who's not especially an AC/DC fan, although I do like some of their stuff.
But great a drummer as Phil Rudd usually is? He never quite nails the Chris Slade drums on the original Thunderstruck as seen in this video. No disrespect meant to Phil at all. He's always been a great drummer for AC/DC. It's just that Chris Slade owns the badass drumming on this song. It almost seems like Phil doesn't really like playing it since Chris Slade just... Slayed it. Just saying.
River Plate is awesome but I prefer Live at Donnington by a mile. So much Energy in that one that I never experienced in later recordings.

This is one of those historic, iconic songs that even if you aren't familiar with, or a fan of AC/DC, or don't know the name of the song, you can't help but recognize the tune. It's quite literally everywhere.
I never was a fan of AC/DC but how can someone not know one of the most well known heavy metal bands of all time.
She needed this for the algorithm. Also she need to improve her acting.

ACDC is not a heavy metal band though? But yeah, she must have heard it before. It's everywhere even if you don't like it. On the radio, in films and series, in games even, commercials, instagram as tracks etc etc

This song by AC/DC is so iconic, you may not know the title but as soon as you hear the first few notes, you immediately recognize it and can't help but get into the rhythm.
Basically, within the first riff you can recognize any song as being played by AC/DC.
Good tune, but not the most iconic to me ... Whole Lotta Rosie, You Shook Me All Night Long, Hells Bells .. they have done so many, truly, one the the greatest bands of all time.

AC/DC really knew how to get the audience all charged up. They are a high energy and flashy performance driven group. That being said they have a sound that is immediately recognizable. They have a pile of hard driving hit songs which are great for road trip tunes. I'm partial to Highway to Hell and You Shook Me All Night Long. Judging from Diane's boppin to the beat she'd chair dancing till the music moved her feet onto the dance floor. Rock and Roll forever.

Actually, you were not watching Bon Scott as the lead singer in that video. That was Brian Johnson. He was hired after the tragic passing of Bon Scott. Those guys are icons and legends. Rock gods.

One of the very few bands out there that needs to be listened to at an ear-bloodening volume. Takes a lot out of any audio equipment to play their music in a decent way. Other than that, this is the exact song I needed to hear today. Thank you Diane :)

Agreed, after work I used to put the top down of my convertible; pop in Thunderstruck; turn up the volume and be-bop down the road slammed by my hand against the steering wheel; bobbing my head all over and singing right along my with Brian at the top of my lungs!!!

I saw them in concert back in the 80's, and if you think this video was something, their live performances took it to a whole new level. I have to admit to being surprised that you've never heard their music, it's been used in a number of movies (Avengers, etc.)

Acdc are very much an Australian band and a fabric of Aussie Culture from our "pub rock " scene. A recommended acdc track ( one of so many ) is " it's a long way to the top " from 1976. The music video for it was filmed in Swanston street in the heart of Melbourne. Really iconic.
This is one of the Iconic songs of GenX. The Dead, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller, Areosmith, Alice Cooper and yeah, AC/DC.
Hells Bells, Thunderstruck, Highway To Hell, Back in Black, T.N.T, and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap are their biggest and best songs.
Thunderstruck was released over 30 years ago, ACDC is one of the most famous bands. The song is still played nowadays ba radio stations all over the world, it was used for commercials... What cave do you have to live in not to have heard of it yet. 😀
I'm a big music guy and like AC DC. But for some odd reason this slipped passed me also. I had never heard this tune till the movie Battleship came out. Blew my mind that I'd never heard it when I found out when it was released. Now I have it downloaded and still can't hear it enough.

Growing up in Australia, even in the early 2000s, AC/DC was the most music my brother and I listened too, there are a even more Australian Bands that are extremely popular as well such as Midnight Oil, INXS, Men at Work, Bee Gees, The Angels, Cold Chisel, Australian Crawl, Jet, Crowded House, Daddy Cool there’s so many bands that have created songs that are known worldwide.
The 80s & 90s Melbourne, Sydney & Newcastle culture created one of the most unique rock I think.

Angus Young's (the guitarist) brothers Malcolm and George were founding members of The Easybeats, so the whole family are Australian rock and roll royalty. Proudly Scottish but also proudly Australian. It's widely acknowledged that George Young and Harry Vanda meeting at the Villawood Hostel changed Australian music for the better.
Malcolm wasn’t a member of the Easybeats.
There are so many songs from this band that are worthy of a listen. I could name at least 15-20 without trying hard. Thanks for getting this one out of copyright jail and into your catalog.
I just saw them play in October at Power Trip. They are still amazing. The whole opening was sung by us, the audience of 100k.

Butt-head started it for a new generation perhaps, but by 1981 they were all over. I was at a concert, can’t remember who bc they were opening act, but singer had on AC/DC shirt. This was 1982-83.🙂

They may have been founded in Aussie but Brian lead singer took the lead after Bon passed. He's a Durham boy from Gateshead. he has a mega following up there in the north east of the UK. The video is set in the time of Mozart & the audience is split between stunned & mortified by what they're witnessing ! Diane, saw AC/DC in 1978 with Bon Scott in a small concert venue in NJ USA. The metal boys were there as well as the punk rockers. Surprisingly, everyone got along with no fighting. Show was LOUD with high energy!

Wow, first time for AC/DC, eh? Was hard to miss them in the states as they are now part of Pop Culture here in the USA and you can bump into them on TV, in the movies, commercials, they have been everywhere and it was easy to see why, as most people love them! Do Hell's Bells live at the River Platte for a great tune and bonkers crowd. They have tons of great tunes, enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

Yeah, I remember bunking off school in the 80's and getting caught the next day because we had black tour t shirts under our white school shirts that showed the date! A few weeks later same thing happened with Motorhead!

Saw them perform last Saturday and it was one of the best damn nights. I don’t care how old angus and Johnson is, they still put up a damn good show. Johnson still had his voice and angus still shredding . It felt surreal seeing them perform and still can’t believe I had the chance to see them.
That "little trick" translates into one of the best lead guitar performances of all time. Enough to earn him as being voted the best guitarist in AU, and easily one of the best in the world.
God Bless this young, innocent lass lol.... To get her mind REALLY BLOWN WIDE OPEN, might I suggest watching AC/DC's Live @ Donnington... She'll come away with a MUCH fuller apprecitation of this LEGENDARY band, the eponymous "Thunder from Down Under" RIP Bon & Malcolm, respectively.... \m/ \m/

This was the battle song of the USS Wisconsin BB-64 during Desert Storm! Every time we went to Gun stations to fire the 16" guns, this song was played over the 1MC! It motivated the crew! It was selected by our Skipper!

grew up with them as one of the best sounds. They did a gig in Knoxville Tennessee at the Thunder Dome. They were never allowed to play there again because they were so loud, they cracked the dome😲
I love the history lessons with the music reactions from this channel Diane! Can’t hear this band without thinking of the high school football locker room pre-game “Ghetto Blaster” stereo. Their driving music was our first choice to turn nervousness into adrenaline confidence for a bunch of teenagers about to hit each other hard.

Angus (the guitarist) was 16 years old when they started. Check out the Bon Scott years! They hired Brian Johnson because he was as close as they could get to Bon's voice after Bon died. The Bon years were the BEST years, was fortunate enough to see them 3 times while Bon was still alive.

@stevenfox6278 the Scots, Angus and Malcom Young, were born in Scotland, but their family moved to Australia when they were little kids. Yes, Brian Johnson is an English man. But, the band was formed in Melbourne and the band has always been based in Australia. Google AC-DC and it will say that they're an Australian band.
@@terryomalley1974 You can't just ignore the fact they were Scottish, Bon Scott too, and their brother George Young produced their early work. Of course they had Australian influences, but their love of music came from their family and their Scottish heritage/upbringing

As I recall, that singer was hired to replace the original singer who passed. And one of the main reasons is because his voice is remarkably similar to the original singer.

Very cool, in that I heard the song initially on my iPhone, and thought I'd check it out on CZcams, and it was nice to see the experience of Diane, as it's a great dance song indeed, amongst SO many others by great rockers!
I grew up on listening to AC/DC and even went to some of there concerts... One of the all time favorites and yes I'm generation x 😁

I’m sure others have mentioned, Bon was the original lead singer. This is Brian Johnson who took over and is amazing as well. The best rock and roll band ever!
Diane- this is a great video selection. I am not a huge AC/DC fan, but this is one of their songs that I have always liked. This is always a great song to play in a stadium right before a big game…..definitely gets everyone fired up.

This is a banger! I enjoyed seeing "Shocked Diane" again. You should also check out "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap" from their earlier incarnation, with Bon Scott on vocals. Brian Johnson was the vocalist here. He joined after Bon Scott's death. I liked both eras of the band.

I went across to Frankfurt from London for their concert years back. Unbelievable vibe. Incredible band with so much energy. Loved AC/DC
The drummer in this video lives in my town and teaches people to drum he’s actually a really nice bloke he also said he wish he could stayed with the group he said it was relaxed and good fun playing with them

AC/DC are the most famous band in the world that you've never heard of. Creators of the 2nd-highest-selling studio album of all time (Back In Black) and unchallenged icons of Aussie music, but I imagine 90% of non-Australians these days won't even know them, even though they'll have undoubtedly heard their music somewhere or other (probably one of the MCU films, where Tony Stark was a big fan). It's time to educate yourself.

Nah mate, 10% of people outside of OZ who are under 35 maybe. I’d say 80% of people 40 and over worldwide know who AC/DC is. If you are old e to have watched Beavis and Butthead on MTV then you know AC/DC. Wether you are in Rome, Tokyo, Houston, or London.

This was Brian Johnson singing this song. He was the replacement for Bon Scott after he passed away. They both sang the same songs equally as well. This is the music I grew up on and it is just as popular today. Watch their concert on CZcams from River Plate Argentina. They are just as good live, unlike many other bands.

I think the best example of early ACDC you could listen to, with Bon Scott on vocals, is 'Touch Too Much'. I'm an old dude in Australia who remembers them playing the local YMCA club for $2 entry when they were getting started. Seeing you bop away to an Angus Young riff is contagious and heart warming. @@fabiwilliams4644 If your lucky you will see the all night binges on 'Rage' where they just play old episodes. Some of the music is great, some of it is still cringeworthy today. A lot of the very early episodes in the ABC vault were lost when some bean counting brainiac in ABC management in the 80's decided that it would be a good idea to tape over the previous episodes because the big beta video cassettes used were expensive. All the early stuff in B&W, with legends like Billy Thorpe, Zoot etc, were lost. Absolute tragedy!
