    11/14/23 3:30pm EST: This was helpful for once I get going but I've never sewn before. I don't know what kind of knots to put at the beginning and ending of the thread and how to "double thread" the needle as you did first. Thanks for the video though, I could guess how to make the knots. Another question is "how to make 'blocking' threads" at either end of the split in the jeans so as to stop the split from running further. Some folks like the split, as a few styles are sold that way, but my jeans always keep on tearing until they're no longer wearable.     how do you end/close out the stitch?

      You just need to make a knot in the thread so that it doesn't pull through the fabric. After knotting it once, you can also pull the thread under the knot a few times to secure it further before snipping away the excess thread.

    i'm pretty sure i have messed up 90% of this but hey, its my first time hand sewing and fixing anything and evenif this only gives me one more use of the jeans, at least its a start

      update: they immediatly tore as soon as i tried them on again. i think i may be a lil too useless at this. guess its time to spend more money on new jeans :(
