Question of the day: Not really watching nor reading anything right now, but Radio Silence by Alice Oseman is a book I highly recommend to anyone. It's about a "study machine" girl trying to get into uni and a boy who is being forced to get into uni unwillingly. Some themes it explores are mental health, abuse, toxicity in fandoms, and the very flawed school system, and it explores them extremely well. A very rich read if you ask me. (AND FOR ONCE the female and male protags don't have a romance storyline, just friendship, and that's highly appreciated. Love plots are so overdone at this point)
Thank you bro :) Yeah Alexandre Dumas and Jules Verne are my fav authors from the french literature side. Picaresque literature is always fun, though haven't read much from Spanish authors but I am aware of Don Quixote
The Count of Monte Cristo is an absolute classic that I thoroughly enjoyed when I read it in my youth. If you are looking for more classics to read, I highly recommend Don Quixote, specifically the translation by Edith Grossman, it is amazingly well written. It has a similar background to Monte Cristo, Miguel De Cervantes actually wrote it while he was in prison! It is an ancient novel, in fact it is argued to be the first novel, it was written in the 1500s. Highly recommend. If you are looking for something different to mix things up, another book that springs to mind is The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. It actually isn't a novel, but actually a collection of short stories. It's very good.
Based to run Air Slash instead of Hurricane I remember when I ran Air Slash over Hurricane once on a Noivern in a draft league but missed anyway and lost bc of that
@LordEmvee listen man, we all make mistakes. It's not repeating them that matters. If you truly are sorry, it's best to apologize to everyone that was hurt and not do it again. It's best to move on
Shows: X-men 97 and By the Grace of the Gods. Books: Akira Toriyama's Manga Theatre, Sherlock Holmes collection(dont remember exact title), Dracula. Sherlock Holmes and Dracula are on kindle and free to borrow if you are using kindle unlimited.
1984 is a classic. Definitely one of the more fun reads I had back then. The first 3 episodes of The Boys Season 4 drops this Thursday, very excited :)
QotD: Just finished reading the Eragon series for the second time. Fantasy/Magic/Save the world story, slow paced, great writing and pacing. Apparently has a movie but according to the internet it is a poor adaptation of the series. I've heard there are other titles taking place in the same world, but have yet to look into it.
That was one of the book series I read back in the day! :) I still remember waiting in line for the release of those books as a kid. Such a classic, but yeah the movie wasn't great. I'm hoping they do something new with it since it was so long ago.
QOTD: I'm reading a book called "The Book that Broke the World." It's the second book in a series about an infinite library and it is actually very epic
QOTD: Whilst not shows or books that Im watching or reading currently, I did watch Hazbin Hotel, which was very fun, and read The Help, which is a great book imo. Definitely recommend them!
@@LordEmvee yes it is! It has both a movie and a book. I completely forgot about the movie 😭😭but it was almost exactly the same as the book, with very little differences actually
QOTD: I've been reading the whole Five nights at Freddy's books recently (sounds weird ik), the thing is, i'm not a native english speaker so i'm kinda struggling with some words, but so far i've been enjoying them (pd: glad to see you back
QotD If you love comedy ABSOLUTELY watch Game Changer. If you want more of a thriller/horror watch Haunting of Hill House. If you want a really sad movie watch The Whale.
@@LordEmvee I mean I usually watch my stuff without the subscription if you know what I mean 👀 however if you do wanna get the streaming service, Game Changer is on Dropout. You can find a couple episodes on their CZcams page as well! Also glad you're doing well, love seeing you upload!
QOTD: Been reading Wheel of Time series - I don't recommend the Amazon show if you liked the books though. It is much like how Rings of Power treated Tolkien's work. As for shows, I've been watching Transformers Beast Wars, a fun watch if you haven't seen it.
You're not the first to suggest me Wheel of Time :) I'll try it out. I watched a few episodes of the Amazon show and didn't really hook me into it. I'd imagine the books are way better anyways. Will check that show out too 😄
I'm austrian and just recently moved to the US. gonna take a little while until I'm allowed to work, but I plan to be a driver, and will read between jobs. the first couple books of the Overlord series are already bought, the light novels
For TV shows, I’ve been watching a lot of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I wanna travel a lot after I get a stable source of income and that show gives me some ideas in where I could possible go! For books, I’ve been reading Data and Goliath. It’s a really unnerving, yet cool book about the erosion of the world’s digital rights and what individuals, corporations, and government can do to fright back and maintain privacy online. Ever since I joined the online privacy community it;s been one of my favorite reads!
Used to watch many Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives episodes! When I work out at the gym I turn on the food channel to work up an appetite, and I'd see a lot. Gives plenty of ideas for places to check out 😋 Will look into that book as well, I'm quite interested to learn more about online privacy.
You probably heard of writer's block, but reader's block is Just as real; I have had the newest Addition to the Eragon series lying beside my bed for a while now, "Murtagh". Just in general, the eragon series is highly recommendable.
Oh wow! I actually never knew there was a Murtagh. I read the others when I was much younger but didn't know a new one came out just last year. Will check it out :)
QOTD: I mostly been watching yt content and listening to creepy pasta. If you like horror I recommend you giving dark somnium a try. I plan on watching the boys for sure.
Also Alexander Dumas was an amazing writer. Everybody always mentions The Three Muskateers, but my fave book of his was indeed The Count of Monte Cristo, so ay we got that in common bro. (Plus he was a Black man, so woop woop for me! Lol)
Truly a fantastic writer. And you are right! :) I believe Alexandre Dumas' father Thomas-Alexandre Dumas was the first person of African descent to become a general in the French military serving under Napoleon Bonaparte.
Yes, his father was the son of a French nobleman (who would later be marquis) and a Hatian slave that he had fallen in love with, and paid an exorbitant price to buy and keep as his concubine. They later moved to France, where slavery had been outlawed over 290 years earlier, and that mixed-race son joined the French army and became a famous general under Napoleon. His name was Thomas-Alexandre Dumas, and he was the major inspiration for his son's novels. In fact, he had languished in a dungeon in Naples for two years right before he returned to his wife back in France and conceived his son, who was born the following year.
Currently reading the digimon liberator comic and light novel and zatch bell 2. Not really watching much. Might steal some recommendations from the comments
QotD: Haven't really been watching or reading anything new lately, but I've been rewatching Kitchen Nightmares (especially the UK version) and Hell's Kitchen lol. Though when I start reading again, I'm looking forward to reading the Throne of Glass series. Read the prequel (The Assassin's Blade) a few years back around the time it came out and absolutely loved it
Welcome back man, thanks for the content 🔥 TV: Kaiju no.8. i need to watch S3 of The Boys before the new season! Books: I have been mainly reading scientific non-fiction books.
