Promises are always a big deal

Most all of us have broken promises as well as been on the receiving end of broken ones. Both feel terrible whether it was our fault or not! The vast majority of broken promises were promises that likely weren't wise to make in the first place. They shouldn't be made impulsively, nor motivated by a desire to fix something beyond our control. I know of which I speak because I've broken many I had no right to make and the pain I caused still cuts deeply when I think about it.
