My Burning Man experience!

- As always, the humans of Black Rock City served up endless amounts of inspiration, love, wonderment, and challenge. Imagery doesn't do it justice and it simply can't be adequately described. There have been significant changes since I was last there in 2015, but the core of the experience was the same for me. Especially where the temple was concerned. The Temple of the Heart was an exceptional one, as you will see in this video. It was so beautiful in form and function. All my time there was intense and remarkable. Looking at and reading fellow Burner's writings and tribute was equal parts beautiful and gut wrenching. SO much was released when the temple burned last Tuesday!
There is much to say about it all, but I'll save that for next week's video once I've sorted the experience a bit more.

Some really good footage there Jackdaw!!!
Thank you very much 🙌 It's hard to go wrong in BRC!
Wonderful video! Thanks so much, Rich. Mom's tribute looked beautiful in the Temple.
Thank you Nik, and thank you for doing such a beautiful job creating it 💓
Wow! I’m speechless~ thx for sharing 🔥 👍💕✌️
You're very welcome 🤗
Great video!! It was nice to watch and remember all those times 🫡
Thanks T! I can't tell you how great it was to have you and Aja with me there 🔥
Been looking forward to your perspective, thanks didn’t disappoint.
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'll be shsring my thoughts and takeaways in next week's video.
Wow! Great video! I am here after seeing your interview on Aja's channel. I have heard of Burning man but never thought too much about it. Now after seeing your video (even with all the trials you had to go through), I want to GO!! Awesome narration also.
Thanks! The Burn is always a momentous experience packed with the unexpected. It's like nothinge else on Earth and I think everyone would benefit from going at least once. 2023 was my third time in 9 years. I'll probably go again in a few years. Especially if my kids are both up for it again. Which, I know they likely will be!
@@jackdawlove That's awesome! I was raised in the era of Woodstock and the big music festivals in the late 60's/early 70's. Did not do Woodstock (too young) but went to a few afterwards (the largest was Pocono (PA) music festival in 1972; about 200,000 souls). What an awesome time. Burning Man seems to have that same type of vibe (and more so to a certain extent).
This video turned out great!! Loved it so much. Amazing how videos just never do Burning Man justice! I’m so happy you got these clips and I enjoyed every moment there with you guys! 🔥
So did I! 💓🔥💓
Looks like a very interesting place, with a lot of emotions that run deep! a very surreal experience for sure
It is indeed! At least, that's how the Burn is for me. The city ibasically amplifies whatever your spirit is focused on.
great to see a man in his prime like me still partying would love to go one day anyway bless u guys all the best from the uk
Thank you sir! We have to make time for play! Take good care of you 👍
This is why I always sleep in a hammock at burning man. The only thing worse than dust in your tent is mud in your tent.
I also leave in the middle of the night so I don't have to wait in line coming in or out of the city.
Both good calls 👍
really really nice
Thank you!
LOVE your video. This was my 20th year out there but I've learned to watch these videos because no one can see everything out there and I get a good look at things I missed through you : ).
I'm curious about your rig. Did you change out the tranny for highway travel or did you come up at 50mph?
I have indeed changed engine and transmission. She now sports a Chevy 350 and an SM465 transmission. The rest of the drivetrain is original, although I did add an auxilliary oil cooler to the transfer case. She's running the original 5:83 gears in the axles, so I generally cruise at 55.
Thanks for your comment and for watching! I like watching other's burn vids for the same reason!
Ah. Let me just say "Muck 'Yer Burn."@@jackdawlove
Seems like the burning man fest isn’t very environmentally friendly….?
The impact of the full city population being present during that kind of rain was dramatic for the playa. The restoration teams have a massive job on their hands.
So is there a big traffic jam on the way in on opening day?
It depends on your timing. We got in line at 6pm on Saturday for about an hour before being parked in the staging lot for the midnight opening. In my experience, you do a lot more waiting during Exodus at the end of the event than before the event.
@@jackdawlove Thank you
I missed snow to happen😉
😅 Maybe next year!
What days did it rain their?
It began raining Friday afternoon and rained on and off through Saturday night.
Wow! Thats crazy! My Temple experience this year was sooo clear, no wind/dust. Definitely for your eyes only, I guess. 🫶
It's a magical place, for sure 💞 I'm glad you got time there too!
