James, thank you for this ...and for all your amazing work. I've been a professional illustrator (mainly cartoonist) for over 30 years and the one thing I've always wanted to learn was to paint.
I know, I know...but I've never been to school for art--so making a full-time living with my art is already a shocker---but I want to PAINT. This has inspired me. Truly.
Good thing is, I use Procreate every day for work--and now I'm going to use it for a relaxing hobby!

First day on an iPad/ digital drawing and spend the last four hours trying to paint using your tips. I put the trees a little low so the reflection for me is off. I’ll probably go back to the layers and try to move the trees up. Either way it looks amazing! Huge thanks I appreciate your tutorial and you helped me find my confidence/ courage to draw outside of my comfort zone. Words can’t express how grateful I am. Honestly, thank you! Do you ever mix brushes with the HB if you were going for more detail on the trees or do you just stick to the HB for sketching and the airbrush for painting? Hey James! I wanna tell you that I did my first ever procreate artwork by trying to replicating this mountain and tree landscape and omg I can't thank you enough! It looks splendid, though my strokes are nothing like yours. I look forward to continue following your tutorials in the future! Thank you so much for doing this!! Have a blessed week ahead! 😊

I just want to say to anyone watching this: Don't be afraid to use different artistic brushes! I know he mainly uses the soft air brushes in this video, which is fine! If that's the way you want to do it, go for it. But definitely don't be afraid to try new techniques to get a texture or look the way you like it, probably in a faster pace as well! Edit: Also, if you want your stokes to be more seamless/blended, use the smudge tool so you don’t see those brush marks :)

I love painting, but I always need a guide because I have no idea where to start or what to do next - you're fantastic! Just as good as having a friend painting on the floor beside me who is willing to look over and tell me what goes next! I am learning to paint on the iPad almost entirely from you.
