When my mother had cancer, she chose hospice care instead of treatment. She wanted to live in the moment and splash out for the first time in her life, and that included shopping at Whole Foods for practically all her groceries (and lots and lots of wine). She ended up living v comfortably and carefree for almost two years 😊

Totally understand your mums thinking, enjoying the time she had how she wanted. I was my mums carer b4 she passed and cooked all her meals. She often said to me at dinner time, she wanted her dessert first. I said mum you can eat what you want in whatever order you want, its your choice. My mum was 81 when she passed and i was just happy that she enjoyed what i prepared, so i didnt care what she wanted to eat first.

It’s interesting how like me Hannah can shop cleverly in low budget stores like Aldi. But hey every now and again we feel decadent in our spending. And suddenly splurge every now and again. Note she examined the Hand made chocolates 🍫, sometimes we have a drive out to Orton , twixt Tebay & Kirkby Steven to visit Kennedy’s Hand made chocolate shop and Cafe Restaurant . Our grandsons used to take a lolly stick because we bought them a fresh fruit puréed chocolate lined ice cream milk shake to take away. Last week fed up of economising , I had a splurge and bought the biggest box of their Home made chocolates. But what the heck . And of course our milk shake . The daughter always orders a box of Kennedy’s hand made chocolates on Fathers Day. Kennedy’s also have a shop nearby in The Lake District . But it’s the milk shakes we need to indulge in too.

People not living in the UK need to keep in mind the exchange rate to their own currency so what may seem "cheap" isn't. I think the last time I looked (quite a while ago) to convert Canadian $ to UK $ you doubled the amount. So, 6 pounds for 2 cupcakes is $12 CDN, that full octopus would be about $120 CDN and that 547 pound wine would be over $1000. Just some perspective.

I watch your vlogs prior to having my team's weekly closeout meeting. The participants either join me in the conference room or on an MS Team's session. Post-meeting we go to a bar/pub or restaurant. All 15 people now watch your vlog as I play it pre-meeting. That's wild, it would be far cheaper here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Colorado is a remote state with very few people living there, perhaps that is why. More people live in the San Francisco Bay Area than in the entire state of Colorado! 😲 At the local grocery store in my corner of Silicon Valley, a sandwich, chips and a drink is $12 or so, which is about 10 pounds sterling. 🙂

Thanks Hannah for the tour of Whole Foods, or as some here in Texas refer to it as, "Whole Paycheck"!!! It is always interesting to see your UK perspective on things like grocery shopping, as well as the other clothing, department stores, etc. As usual Hannah, your insights are very entertaining, as well as informative! Have a great week, & look forward to next Friday!

Hello Hannah, I'm Canadian and have been to Whole Foods in Toronto because I was curious about the hype and also found the products to be very expensive. They seem to have more variety at your UK store. In any case, I never shop there (went in out of curiosity) you can get many of their offerings at a lower price at other stores. To each his own!

Hello Hannah! Its Friday and it's great to see you! That Ole & Steen coffee shop looks like winner, with such a lovey atmosphere as well as delightful array of bakery items. Beige bits? I'd bet their coffee is delicious. Impressive coverage Hannah! I have a Whole Foods in my area, though it's not quite as expansive as this store. Among all the rest, Whole Foods is known for premium produce. I used to go there regularly and top off my visit with a double shot of wheat grass juice. An acquired taste to be sure! LOL! I think I'll make a point of popping in again soon. Please, do take good care, Hannah love. See you next week!😉

We used to get their ready made food & soups every now and then, but it was just ok. Healthy, but nothing fabulous. Still fun to shop there on occasion. Thanks for taking us along as always. Much love from Fort Worth, Texas! 😊🧀🍷

Hi Hannah! What a marvellous video! Those prices seems to be similar as they are in ordinary supermarket here in Finland, so yeah... our food is ridiculously expensive. Meat seems to be even cheaper in Wholefoods than here. And of course electricity, water and rents are expensive too. Enough complaining, thanks again for showing what´s going on in there. Keep up the good work :) Have a nice and cosy autumn.

Hi Hannah, another great food vlog. I have to say I was not shocked at the cost. Here in Australia food is expensive and the cost.of living is high. I paid $5 yesterday for a standard loaf of mixed grain bread and another fiver for a standard bar of Cadbury peppermint chocolate not on special, sooo if you are talking about pocket pinch just do your weekly shop here then you will feel the pain. All as I can say is thank God for Aldi. A loaf of mixed grain bread there yesterday $2.98 but they had no stock. Cheers from Melbourne 😊❤👩‍💼

"es there is a Richmond in England too."
lmao I looked it up and it seems Kent and Richmond are basically suburbs of London.
lol. We have a New London in the USA, it is across the Thames River from Groton in Connecticut. (one of the 13 original states.)
I went to Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Sonar "A" School at Groton Submarine Base. It's technically "New London Submarine Base" but if you ask people in the area, they will be confused, because New London is across the river, and is where the Puddle Pirates (the Coast Guard lmao) have their academy.
The submarine base is known colloquially as Groton...."the submarine capital of the world." lol 🙂
I'm surprised Kent in the State of Washington is not called "New Kent" and Richmond here in the Bay Area is not called "New Richmond".
But I believe there is also a Richmond in the State of Virginia. 🙂

I live about an hour from the nearest Whole Foods in Kansas City (middle of the US) and the prices are similar to this one, but this London store is probably 3-4 times the size. It’s clearly aimed at the wealthy folks living in that part of London, as well as international residents and American tourists (we always stayed in S. Kensington area to be near the V&A). While traveling, we like to shop in local grocery stores and buying bits from Aldi, Tesco or Waitrose was cheaper and healthier than eating in a restaurant. Like you, we could never afford to do all of our shopping at Whole Foods!
