I love how you could tell from Taylor's face that she was FOCUSED focused on those lyrics!
She looked so excited knowing he was about to say sweet
lyrics with alcohol in it, that's her genre haha
@Good For Nutting Bono was younger than she is now when he wrote it. But he was writing it for a grandpa.
@Good For Nutting You're going to get old one day, just like everybody else does. And you're going to wish you weren't so ageist when you were younger, because you'll realize how cruel it is when it happens to you. It will happen faster than you think.
Yes, she SHOULD study Bono’s lyrics. He can write allegory. She can’t. Not yet. If she wants to grow, she should learn from him. I like Taylor, but Bono is a legend.
You can tell how much Taylor appreciates song lyrics by her big smile while he sings🥺💕
@Alex Alex I know, it drives me insane! I like Taylor, but BONO is there and all everyone can talk about is Taylor (and Eddie). Maybe it's just me getting older, but it's my opinion that U2 have written more great songs than Taylor will have by the end of her career. And I say that as someone who is a fan of both
The face of Taylor is basically all of us, if we get the chance to hear Bono like that. Man, he's just amazing.
Wow, that song made me smile. Can't explain it, Bono just has that power
And he was channeling Sinatra. The song was perfect for the occasion.
@@christiaandefranco3653 Very well said
Taylor was like "I'm inspired, omg I'm inspired, gotta get home now and write a song with this inspiration! And I'm gonna make it a feat with Bono, watch me"
Just seen Taylor face while Bono was singing shows the amount of respect she has for him
That sounds like a classic Frank Sinatra song…I wish he had lived to record it. That man had one of the most beautiful voices ever.
It really doesn't
@@schrire39 It really does.
I enjoyed Bono singing it like this more than the actual recorded version U2 did.
same for ‘song for someone’ that they sang on this show some years ago
@@Shadowfax2348 Definitely, good call.
Yes to both the OP and subsequent reply. 👍👍👍
It wasnt recorded it was played live at Frank Sinatras 80th birthday party
@@jamesadcock5235 Ok, it sounded so good on the b-side of "If God Would Send His Angels" that I thought it was a studio version. But yes, it appears to be the performance from Sinatra's 80th cleaned up a bit.
Bono is a lyrical genius.
And suddenly 'Two shots of happy, One Shot of sad' becomes only one shot of happy and rather two shots of sad. Bono is a Master cause he kept it going smoothly and unnoticed
Or, the change was on purpose?
Noticed that too …
It was ON PURPOSE. That is what makes him a great storyteller as well as a great singer. He took us on a journey and that change was part of it.
Had to be on purpose. Otherwise he wouldn't have done that second verse.
I NOTICED IT AND IM SURE PLENTY OTHERS DID TO YOURE NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH EARS AND A BRAIN CELL
Okay, that gave me shivers!! What a great song, but what do you expect from a genius like Bono! ☺ Also, it was fun watching Taylor Swifts face, you can just see the fan girl in her thinking "WOW, a legend like this just looked at me sung." At least that is what I would be saying, giggle* Very cool.
Id expect him to pay his taxes..
@@marky1974 I think you'll find U2 pay an awful lot in tax. Do they try and cut corners? Maybe, probably yes. But the implication that they pay none at all is pretty damaging and completely untrue
@@fredh1720 I didnt say that..they enjoyed decades of tax free artist exemption in ireland..when the rules were changed on this they moved their tax base off shore..Bono was on Irish TV in 2007 argueing Irish Tax payers should pay 0.7% of their taxes to poorer countries..that to me is hypocritical
@@marky1974 I see where you're coming from.
All these years and Bono’s voice still sounds great ❤
Taylor taking notes from the lyrics, the tone, and the rhythm of the song.
NO SHE WASNT SHE WAS MELTING
I’ll always love him because of how he sings “I Still Haven't Found What I’m Looking For”
someone better make sure Bono doesn't fall off the sofa
I mean he had some space
I was wondering why he was on “the edge” like that. 😂
@@sondravollmer2932 because he cannot sit on Taylor's lap 🤣
the face of Taylor when she listened to Bono's lyrics.
Bono... You absolute legend 🙌🔥
Now I need an album of Bono doing Sinatra or jazz
They did release a single together in the early 90's. It's a cover of 'I've Got You Under My Skin'. :)
the look on Taylor's face. she's gonna ask him for that song 😂
that woman has never asked for a song in her life. she has given them but she doesn't take other people's songs. the look on her face is because she's listening to another legend and she knows good lyrics when she hears them hope this helps.
@@ithk9496 you know she has a team of songwriters and everything good about her songs which made them stand out from other songs and made them good was done by the songwriters. Yeah she writes most of her own lyrics I assume but the actual good part of her songs that made her an international pop star, that music was composed by other songwriters who aren't as well known. This is nothing knew though as coincidentally it has been happening since people like Frank Sinatra and probably before. That's just showbusiness
@@h.d.5194 She literally has a whole album she wrote completely by herself at 19, trust me she knows how to write amazing songs by herself. One of my favorite taylor songs is "My tears ricochet" which is completely written by her.
@@evermore9 They simply don't know. Leave them be.
@@evermore9 not worth it.
Full song was later recorded by U2 and is a B-Side to their single 'If God Will Send His Angels' if anyone is interested.
Thank you! Saved me time looking for it!
@@hutch1197 Many of the band's 90's b-sides have that softer tone. 'Slow Dancing' is another one, was performed with Willy Nelson. 'North & South Of The river' and 'Your Blue room' are other tracks worth hunting down. :)
@@ashtree7213 It's a b-side for 'Staring At The Sun'.
Always had respect for Bono (and U2 of course), then today he actually says he's a Swifty!! This guy just gets better!
Bono! What a LEGEND ❤
Bono Masterpiece!
Man this song took the wind out of my lungs.
Canadian singer Matt Dusk does this song and its absolutely brilliant. I have it on his CD and have heard him do it live and have swooned both times. I highly recommend finding it and listening to it [though I would 100% love an album of standards by Bono OR Taylor OR both!!].
Here is the link to the video

It was actually "Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad." Sinatra's daughter Nancy has covered it. Nice to see Bono still has got the pipes.
I think his changing of the last line to "one shot of happy, two shots of sad" was intentional.
@@kareninalabama it's possible. Bono has a knack for changing his own words around.
it ended with one shot of happy 2 shots of sad
Taylor will to make a song with this “one shot of something” line, you can tell by her face
1:07 real recognize real
The way Taylor looks at him...
You could see the sadness in Bob's eyes at the lost opportunity for Sinatra to have sung this.
Taylor is so dialed in and fangirly while Bono's singing.
This is an iconic clip. Very moving.
Bono is amazing writer......powerful
Loved that song, can see sinatra singing it.❤
Holy cow that song is Frank. I wish he could have sung it.
The LEGEND BONO!!! ✌
Quella voce è sempre così magica ! ❤️
Well that’s a moment damn
1:14 - Bono trying to show his talent while Swift is like (watch her face) 😂😂
I'd be starstruck and fangirling like her too tbh
She’s not used to seeing an actual talented person and is jealous
Taylor was giving “what is this?!?!?” look guyz i am screaming internally AHAHAHAHAHHAA
Epic moment!
Taylor is my girl, Bono is my guy...this is the first time in my life I've ever been jealous of Taylor Swift. But also jealous of Bono. I love this
bro that song is a banger
Brilliant
Bono is 🔝
I mean how epic!!
Loved Taylor’s face
Bono!!!!!
this is beautiful!!!
The skinny blonde woman next to Bono just loves it!
It's a great song
A legend...we miss you Bono!!
This comment made me think he just died
@@giselleo5976 we miss him from the scenes....he can't die, and even if he does, he will be always alive in our hearts and our minds💓
They’re working on a new album
@@honewhetstone1732 I really hope so...🥰
that's a banger
I'm convinced Sinatra loved Bono's song. It's got a dark late-'50s, early-'60s vibe to it. Besides, you know you've got a hit song when Taylor Swift looks awestruck while you're singing your song. I'd even like to hear Bono record that one. It drew me in like that. He could even make that a duet and give TS the female part.
Nancy Sinatra recorded 'Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad' as the final track on Her 2004 album. Well worth a listen.
Wow! I could hear Frank singing that
Good tune and Sinatra would have smashed it out of the park. 👍🙏
Bono just smashed it out of the park better than frank would have
❤❤❤❤
Grande Bono! 💪
Taylor just soaked that coach.
Frank hung out with everyone! 😂
Taylor in her mind was like "WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN LATER!!"
It was also recorded by Matt Dusk a Canadian Frank wannabe. I actually bought that cd back in my cocktail drinking phase. 😆
Taylor's mind: "Oooo so this must be what it feels like to be serenaded"
Love 2 shots of happy, 1 shot of sad.
Shame he messed up the lyrics
😘
Taylor's eyes is just sooooo beautiful 🥺
Adesso Bono Vox mi sembra Lucio Dalla😁😁😁😁😁
The only short video I couldn't finish watching. Had to terminate when he started singing. Didn't ask for it. Oh, wait..
I want a woman to look at me the way Taylor Swift was eye-f***ing Bono.
Bono looks like he needs a good bath.
The end of the wedding and your drunk uncle insists on singing a song no one know
BONO looks amazing!!! Who's the Blonde chick?? Is she famous?
Bono, get Gaga to record that new song for Frank?
Winnie Wallace.. Looks like Bono had more than two shots of happy. Sounds a bit like it too.
I can picture a Taylor Swift and U2 collab
He's totally gonna write something for her, I can feel it.
@@DokkaChapman with her*
“He said I was the only man with an earring he was ever gonna like.” Not the lowkey homophobia from Frank Sinatra 🙃
bruh 😭
To be fair, Sinatra was probably one of the most progressive men of his time. His humor and his style are outdated for sure, but he stood up for lgbt people and people of color in a time when doing so was considered career ending. He had more liberal views than the people who listened to his songs at the time, that’s for sure.
Yeah, let's hold a man born in 1915 accountable to today's standards, for an off-handed comment he made 30 years ago. People today are absolutely insufferable.
@@hutch1197 I mean yeah I don’t wanna cancel him or anything but it does sting hahaha
@@mateom1691 I mean he initially didn't like Muhammad Ali along with most of white America at the time. It was only later that he came to recognize Ali's greatness.
Is it me, or does Bono look like Tom Hiddleston playing Robin Williams playing Bono?
rhodes island greece
That’s how it’s done, young people. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Nancy Sinatra sang this song - blooming brilliant! The Jarvis Cocker collab on the same album was better though.
Who else is stuck in the never ending loop of The Graham Norton show 👀
Bono gets a lot of stick but he’s not a bad lad.
Musicians these days don't really care about lyrics anymore...that's way I like Tay she makes songs I wanna sing
If Taylor Swift doesn't land this song with Bono.... 😭 Universe deserves this collaboration!
Taylor you are with a legend Bono. Stand down lol
That's Bono?? What happened?
He's unrecognizable.
He’s aged. If you’re lucky you will, too. 😎
I'm surprised, I always thought Bono Jovi was blond, with big teeth. Or was this Sonny Bono, back in the day?
"sad" and "back" don't rhyme. Sinatra would not have approved.
Bloody Hell Cadet Zed is looking old now stick to police work officer and say hello to your goldfish
Wow. That was pitchy.
How come Bono doesn't have an Irish accent?
He forgot his own lyrics…
Very appropriate given it's a song for Sinatra lol
Súper aburrido 🥱
cringe galore
Get back to us when you have 22 Grammys
Creep
Bono cant sing since 1993
and you can't write a full sentence - pathetic comment Jo.
The song is, at best, a mediocre pastiche.
Two overrated singers.
