Getting a GC1725M subcompact with loader, 4in1 bucket, 60” deck and backhoe was the best decision I ever made. Absolutely love that little tractor.

Sounds good. Without the backhoe you get a better seat and roll bar. I had a backhoe and it was fun but I found it too small for many jobs and inconvenient since I used 3 pt. all the time and would have to go back to shop to store it inside and safely. Plus the insurance and 48 hour timelag with Dig-Rite made it impractical. Loaders are great now especially the bob-tach latches. Just some thoughts. I want a 1725 if I can find storage(live in city on small lot.)

I found your channel last year when you did that mowing. Like you I have severe slopes. I use a 48” craftsmen, but heavily modified for slopes. I cant go up or down, but across the face of it. Been doing that for 17 years and it still gets my attention if I do it wrong. 😉

I use to mow places like this around the hill as well with my old Lowe’s Mower. But with the new style seat safety switches being in the center seat cushion it’s harder to adjust your weight to one side. I would stand totally on one floor board hold the wheel and lean up hill on that old mower. Thanks for watching and be safe!

That ride down and up that hill, especially with the JD lawn/garden tractor has to be some of the best footage on the internet!
I've got about that same steepness (maybe), but for only 10 ft off a raised septic system, then levels out. My little JD GT235 54" deck goes downhill quick for 2 seconds, but no sense of out of control. But going back up, there is when you feel the strain as it works hard. But if dry, it does it. If wet, better find somplace else to mow, LOL.

My reason is I don't wants hundreds of hours on my kabota for just mowing. so I can sell the belly motor for about 900 and buy a used troy built pony for 400.. so I can make money on the switch and save my resale value on the kabota and just use it for strictly actual tractor work.

Wonder how many times you could run that JD lawn tractor up and down that hill before you burn up the transaxle in that thing...I didn't think a hydrostatic transaxle would run away like that...its like it was just freewheeling down that hill, then didn't have the traction to get back up the hill, typical lawn tractor setup, they're all that way though. Wonder if a lawn or garden tractor with a manual transaxle would do better on that hill?
