It's so fitting that her last public appearance would be at the award ceremony where Butler got his first golden globe for his portrayal of her father, its something Butler will remember forever.

You can tell her life was never the same after her son passed away in 2020. I was looking through her old social media posts and she completely stopped posting after he died saying ‘she has nothing good to share anymore’ until the Elvis film came out late last year. I can’t imagine that pain. I am just happy she lived to be able to see the Elvis film.

I’m proud of her for that. She did do the best she could. Her heart was just too much , she’s ashened here a sure sign of heart failure. She had the chance to give her daughters as an axample her love for her dad and son so I’m sure although her daughters mourn her they know she’s no longer enduring the emotional pain that life gave her.

I'm pretty sure it's an actual medical diagnosis. A girl I knew, her son and sister perished on a winter rode sliding into some body of water, all drowned. Obviously a devastating thing to go through but she said at some point she started becoming very short of breath, heart racing.... similar to a panic attack but they diagnosed her with a broken heart

I know, this was pretty shocking. Sadly, I think that the loss of her son broke her soul beyond repair. No parent should ever have to know the devastation of something like that. That being said, it must have been a heck of reunion in Heaven today, and for that I am grateful.

Me too. I feel sad for her daughters and her mother. I also think like, why didn't someone tell her they were concerned that night? She doesn't look well. I guess in that situation you might not think they would listen to you or that anything could have been done. She should have already been seeking medical treatment instead of being at this award show.

My heart breaks for her children and her mother. My mom also died of a heart attack at 54 years of age, so I froze when I saw the headline. I was forever changed by it, and I cry for Lisa Marie’s daughters. A loss like this you never truly recover from. My deepest sympathies to her family and friends.😢

As a grieving mom to my only 17 year son with 3 surviving daughters. I think Lisa Marie felt a piece of her father when she was in Austin’s presence. I also believe she felt a small piece of her beloved Benjamin being with him. You can tell there was no other place Lisa Marie wanted to be. This night will always give me comfort in her memory. I don’t know how it could have gone down any other way. It’s just the sequence of events are pretty amazing. 💝

Well, I suspect we' ll never know the true real deep feelings & friendship w/Austin that LISA MARIE felt. My thoughts are, it was probably a bit complex. There may be more than one "angle" on what she felt.
Even though Austin played her dad, she only spent her first 9 yrs w/her dad, yes indeed, but that was way back in 1977, when she last saw him.
But now Austin has just recently turned 31, but Elvis was 42 when she last saw him. Now of course we know Lisa Marie suffered the loss of more than her dad. She lost her only son in July 2020, correct? She lost her dad in August 1977. Now look @ Austin' s age/Ben' s age. Austin is only 1 yr older than Ben was when he passed. So I would tend to believe the connection she saw in Austin, would be closer to the loss of her "SON", BEN and the comfort she felt around him. Filling that more recent void. Rather than relating to Austin as a memory of her dad. But on stage Austin played her dad. That may be why it took her 5 days to get adjusted to seeing Austin speaking, singing, moving, dancing & looking like her dad. I remember Priscilla sharing that Lisa Marie cried through the entire movie the 1st time she saw it! And took 5 days to process it & Lisa Marie RESHARED that in her short interview @ the Golden Globes.
Her thoughts were probably quite complex , not easy for us to relate to what she may have thought when she was around him.
Austin loss his mom @ same age as Elvis lost his mom. Lisa Marie was 23 yrs older than Austin. That' s a whole generation. She was old enough to be his mother. For him,---he perhaps can be reminded of his "MOM" he lost and miss' es . Lisa may have been a real comfort for him/it would seem more like having his "MOM" back.
Where Austin could have felt to Lisa Marie like having her "SON", BEN back. They could have both provided a nurturing healing for each other!! Just a thought!

I think in part because of how everything played out and because I'd just lost my husband a few months pryorI agree with you. God cares about the little things as much as the big ones. It took all her strength to do what she did for Elvis' birthday celebrated and showing up to support Austin, whom she loved and became very close to. My sister was at the birthday party and she talked to Lisa. She said you could feel the pain in her heart when she talked about her Dad, hear it in her voice, not drugs. This family has gone through tragedy after tragedy and real life situations with the world watching. I think all the judges out there should try it. Put your life and skeletons on display. Wonder how they all would handle it Losing? Losing a child changes you inside forever.. Same with loosing a daughter no matter how many times you and she argued or disagreed. You never stop loving your children. Please leave this family alone so Elvis, Ben and Lisa Marie's family can heal. We are not the judge and jury. God is. God bless you all. Astounding to know she was alive and present at the Golden Globes a few days ago before her untimely passing and share the triumph of Austin Butler's grand portrayal of Elvis. She appeared fragile. Life can be so unpredictable. Two days ago she walked a big red carpet and today she passed away. So sad. Can't even imagine what her mother and daughter are going through right now.

I think it's because Lisa was our last connection to Elvis... (In a sense...?) I don't know I'm trying to come to terms with this myself, as this feels pretty devastating. Sadly, I think that the loss of her son just truly broke her soul beyond repair. No parent should ever have to know the devastation of something like that. With that being said, can you even imagine how glorious the reunion must have been in Heaven today?? For that, I am grateful. Big ((HUGS)) to you both. ~TCB

@@KelleyBroussardMackaig I was thinking today of her place in eternity too yesterday and today. It’s Day 1 .Did she call Jesus Lord and Saviour? Did she repent of her sins? Is her name written in the book of Life? I hope so, because nobody, absolutely nobody gets into heaven without doing that. I think many people, wrongly, believe that you get to heaven just because God loves us. But that’s clearly not true, God is also holy, sin cannot be in heaven. That’s why he sent us his son Jesus , through Jesus is the only way to heaven. He’s told us this pretty firmly and pretty clearly in his Word, the Bible. Pretty sobering. My husband died at 35, he loved the Lord, served and followed him. I KNOW 100% he’s in heaven and I’ll be with him again. PTL

Aweee, she died of a broken heart, you could never stop grieving the loss of a child. As soon as I saw her interview, her sad soul reflecting on her Face. She's been thru alot. The Movie of her Father and grieving of her Son took a tow on her. May you rest in peace.
I believe that she decided it was time. She saw this incredible performance where it effectively in her mind made her father come alive again. It put her at peace, and then felt it was time to go. It's so fitting that this was her last appearance two days after Elvis's birthday and standing next to the man who played her father so exceptionally well that in her mind he was alive again.
I think that makes sense weirdly. The mind, soul, heart, emotions, they can prepare the physical body for the next stage...
No, her heart just gave out like it did for her father and grandmother (they all died before 60 of heart attacks..) It's great that she could see her father come to life again, but she should've lived many more years rather than pass away at only 54.

Losing a child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent, to a mother. How can one go on living after that....Lisa Marie looked absolutely shattered and it seems to have taken all her strength, concentration and courage to be there, to give this interview. It really was too much for her.. Her poor mother has to endure so much, it's just unbearable.

I think the suicide of her son was the last thing she could take. I know that she was living with her son’s father since the suicide, surely they were trying to help each other through it. Now the weight rests on the remaining women of her family.

When my sister told me Lisa Marie died I broke down in tears. As an Elvis fan this hurts cuz I know she died of a broken heart. I pray Lisa Marie was guided to the other side by her father, her son and grandparents and I extend my deepest condolences 💐

I’m just so heartbroken. I can’t believe it. I lost my 9 year old little boy Oliver on the 2/10/20 to leukaemia. I know the pain she suffered. I have been a life long fan of Elvis thanks to my mum and so are all my kids. Especially my little boy Oliver who was born partially deaf and music was everything to him. Im beyond grateful I took them to the o2 in London to see all of Elvis clothes/Artifacts when they were displayed there. I’m just lost for words. So devastatingly heartbreaking 💔 praying for the family especially her girls
