    I came here just to express my gratitude. Over 5 years I've been trying to grow cherries, tried one method then got disheartened when it failed and stopped for months then trying and failing again, that circled repeated so many times with a verity of methods found online, some methods took months with the seeds on the fridge just to get them rot.
    Finally I've tried your way (I even had the exact same pliers) expecting another failure but in just 15 DAYS the seeds are sprouting.
    You are amazing sir, thank you so much !!

      Over the pandemic I decided to try your method & out of 5 seeds I found success. During this past winter I placed the pot in my garden with a bag over the top & a few mos ago I noticed leaves. My cherry seed is now a 1 ft mini cherry tree thanks to your tutorial. Since I love cherries I am buying a dwarf cherry tree tomorrow but will proudly watch my little tree grow. Hopefully I will live long enough to see fruit on it. 😬 Thx so much.

      @@Chercher4848 your comment reminded me to do an update:
      I ended up with 8 cherry seedlings
      I gave 4 to my sister in law, she said she was moving to a bigger house and wanted to have them, sadly she never did and the cherries remained in their small pots, dying some months later.
      I planted 2 on a small piece of land near my dental office, they get plenty of sun but I think the soil is lacking nutrients, both are growing very slowly they are about 1.5 meters tall.
      Lucky the 2 I planted at home are healthy and growing, one is 3 meters tall while the other is about 2.5 , I thought they would be about the same hight as my peaches but looks like they'll be bigger, haven't flowered yet, from what I read there's still some time to go till they can bear fruit.
      Thanks again @Bamong Doaung!!

    You & you alone have opened my eyes to the secret of how to grow cherry trees.
    I would NEVER have known one most crack the shell 1st & then put nut in fridge for 5-7 days & then peal the hard skin off the nut & put back in fridge for another 5-7 days & what to look for that = germination & then which way to plant the terminating seed in the soil.
    You are a GENIUS!
    What made you think of all these necessary steps including fridge & time span?
    Each time I planted the cherry stone, nothing happened, so I just assumed lack of germination was due to GMO messing with seed.
    Thank you so much!
    Wish I had known this secret 30 or 40 yrs ago.
    I am now too old to start as I am now 61 w/ severe health problems..
    Have no one alive to share this secret with.
    Always too late, after I learn secrets of success of ...

    This is a very useful video Bamong, bravo! I just want to add a little footnote. In order to quickly identify and eliminate the seeds with small or non-existent kernels, put all the seeds into a bowl of water. Those seeds which float can be discarded; they will have either small kernels or no kernels at all.
    Only crack open the seeds which sink to the bottom of the bowl. Thanks for uploading!

    I live in Austria, so all my plants are potted, after I ate some cherries about 3 months ago I threw the seeds on a planter, ( I didn't peel the skin from the seeds ) they are about 2 inches tall by the kitchen by the glass sliding door where the sun hits every morning, my plants use regular soil for planters. in the same pot, a mango is growing too, it is about 2 ft tall, and jalapeno peppers.

    Thank you for your well put together video. Yesterday I ate about 15 cherries and dropped the pits into two of my hanging fern planters rather than throwing them into the yard for the birds. Now after watching your video I will attempt by your method. Last year I tried apple seeds tucked away in the back of our basement fridge but they did not sprout. My fault for not keeping moist enough. Will try in a plastic container with lid as you have shown. Looking forward to following your method for a variety of fruit trees too! Toda raba!

    Thank you. I've seen part of the process, but not the complete process as you've demonstrated it. So, I started the first phase and removed the outer shell. In 5-7 days, I will see if the seeds are ready to come out of the second shell and then back in the fridge for another 5 days. I don't know if it will work in my case, because these cherry pits have been in the freezer for 4 years. That's how long I've wanted to do this and didn't know how. So, again, thank you soooooo much. :D

    • @tersta1
      @tersta1 Před 5 lety +1

      @@kalliberNo, I looked at them today and while the inner shell is off on some, there's not sign of germination. On many the seed split in two, so I composted those. On others, the inner shell hasn't opened. I think they were damaged from freezing. I will try with new cherries when I have a chance.

    • @angelkotilainen
      @angelkotilainen Před 5 lety +1

      I find the freezer too drying for seeds, and I think that's why they don't germinate? The moisture from the seeds gets pushed out early on in the freezing process. Which kills the seeds. If you get fresh and just use the fridge to make a mini Winter, it should be fine. Gl :)

      Save grape seeds in fridge (not freezer) until spring. In early spring, sprinkle them through a ball of moist sphagnum moss in a tupper ware container and place them in an area with limited sunlight (not too hot). In a few weeks you will see roots on the side of the container, put the germinated seeds (look like a white spiders) into pots, ~5-7 per pot. Go through the ball of sphagnum weekly until all the seeds are gone. Protect against birds and insects. You're ready to go! When dormant in fall, transplant to soil. Good luck.
