you can tell that Brolin feels completely comfortable in his own skin which is awesome!
Seen Josh Brolin on several shows and podcasts this week. Completely original, entertaining and funny every time, no recycled anecdotes or paraphrasing about Dune even. Don't know if I have ever seen anyone doing a press junket that could be a completely original genuine guy or gal, every single time. Impressed!
I couldn't agree more. If you've got an hour to spare, I highly recommend watching the Josh Brolin episode of Tony Hawk's "Hawk vs Wolf" podcast (on CZcams). Delightful! Joyful, fun, earnest, and so not boring at any point. 😎💜
I agree.
He told the same Goonies story on Colbert you dirty liar
He keeps it refreshingly real
Makes sense, if you have a great interviewer you send them on a press tour.
I’m not complaining.
Josh Brolin.. not only a great actor. But also a top bloke with a great sense of humour. Hope he continues to make awesome movies.
He's so good he could almost be Australian.
I used to rewatch Goonies on VHS all the time. Goonies felt like it captured the spirit of my childhood. Its such a nostalgia hit now.
Josh Brolin is so down to earth normal. Love him
I'm in the UK and finding The Californians on youtube got me into SNL. I feel like I could navigate anywhere in that state 😂
I love the idea of somebody coming over from the UK and thinking “I gotta get on the 10 where I belong.”
As long as you throw around words like "the 405", "Sepulveda", "Mulholland", "Wilshire", "La Cienega", and "the PCH", you'll be fine.
As someone in LA, it's not too far off from just being a documentary lol
Farther face
STAY OFF THE 405!!!
One of my favorite actors. He always bring the A game.
Josh Brolin is phenominal at acting and every time I've heard a story about him or seen him in an interview he is splendid. Cheers to you Josh.
Love when behind the sketches on SNL are discussed here
Brolin is one of my favorite actors but simply because he's great at it but he's just so bloody cool, funny, chill, and likeable. You gotta like actors who also seem like genuinely good people. Plus he acknowledged the band when he entered, I always like guests who acknowledge the late show bands.
Brolin actually naturally speaks with a subtle Californian accent which often flies under the radar but people like Aaron Eckhart and Kevin Costner have a similar version as well.
How do you not love Josh Brolin? He's great..
Goonies will ALWAYS hold up. I will be showing my grandchildren it someday. I also love Dave Bautista even more now for watching Bluey on the plane. I have a Blue Heeler so we love the show in our house and my kids are even almost grown.
What a wonderfully likable and fun person!
No Country for Old Men is the most recent film that I have watched over and over again. I probably watch it 3 or 4 times a year.
Sicario for me!
dune 2 is this generations "empire strikes back" and I say that as someone that saw Empire in the theatre. It was an epic movie, if you haven't seen the first, go watch it, then go see Dune, this will get people back into the theatre after a lackluster winter
I saw Goonies in the movie theater in 1985. I was just graduating high school. Yes, all my kids have seen it and loved it!
What a down to earth and natural guy Josh Brolin is.
I'm liking him on every appearance he makes.
Because you’re 100% positive that you can judge a person’s qualities from watching CZcams? Oh ok cool right gotcha of course no problem,
@@cwg73160 chill out bozo. Go yell at traffic or middle-schoolers or the weather.
@@PeacefulPariah You used” bozo”, grandpa.
@@cwg73160Uh, okay Karen
Seth's arm sweep on full display!!
It’s like he’s conducting an orchestra 😂
Amber was right about how he uses his hands and arms.
Amy talked about his ‘gesticulating’ when she was on the show last week too, I know to look out for it now 😂
@@ryanyoung8638She called him "The Great Gesticulator". 😅
Goonies is THE BEST!!!
Josh Brolin is a rockstar! So much fun to watch.
I have a Goonies shirt and I get compliments every single time I wear it
This man is so lovable and extremely captivating not to mention talented 🙌🏻👏🏻❤
Rewatchable: yes. I have rewatched both Old Country and Sicario three times each (so far). So good.
Oh, and Seth you're awesome too. Thank you for what you do with this show. It's the best.
I think at this stage he is doing the arm sweeping to tease the jackals
Every time I watch Fart Face, the underwhelming audience reaction to Hader, Forte, and Brolin's absolute commitment to the absurd concept tickles me. Forte and Hader are always a great combination.
FARTFACE!!!
He never lets us down! Operates at a very high level even when no one is looking!!!
I just watched Fart Face, and it is hilarious because of this conversation, and yes, it is a bomb. Thanks guys.
One of my favorite roles Brolin played was Hickock in the 90's series Young Riders. I highly suggest it, if you've never seen it.
Josh Brolin is an upbeat conversationalist with Seth talking about his acting chops & experiences. Looking fwd. to him being on SNL this wknd. Great interview Seth!
Finally a host on SNL I care about. I didn't know the young SNL hosts anymore 😂❤
As a child of the 80's, who loves the Goonies, I love seeing the cast of Goonies and how they've aged, changed and are taking different paths. Brolin seems like a genuinely good dude and I am happy he has earned a second round of success as an actor. Also I 100% agree with him about the experience of seeing movies in theaters, there is something captivating when the lights go down. I will see his theater experience and raise him a drive-in experience. I wish there were still quality drive-ins we could go out with family and friends.
The drive-ins that do still exist, you can't even see the screens because they run the projector lamps too low so they burn out and need replacing less often. Drive-ins were cool. The first movie I ever saw was Gremlins at a drive-in. I got scared and hid under the car.
@@GGoAwayy I saw Gremlins at the drive-in too😃. It was a double feature, Gremlins and National Lampoons European Vacation.
Dude this was an awesome interview. Bravo to everyone including the audience.
We love josh brolin and seth meyers
Gotta love Brolin 💕👏👍
PS- Thrashin' was one of my favorite movies growing up Josh!
JB, you can talk all day and all night long. Love EVERYTHING you do.
I watched Goonies so many times when my kids were little. We loved Goonies!
Josh Brolin is the American version of Rhod Gilbert. 😂😂 I want to see them doing shenanigans together
Wait wait wait wait- the drummer from NO DOUBT is there?!
That T-shirt is epic😂💖✌🏼
There’s a binge-able CZcams video that compresses ALL of “The Californians” into one video. Watching every episode back-to-back can be like hopping on the 405 at Edinger in Huntington Beach on a Friday afternoon rush hour…
Actual legend.
Yep, time to realize Josh has as much or more talent than James!
Josh the type of guy one can’t but love
one of the best description of a movie theater experience
Josh Brolin is really funny! He enjoys press junkets more than any other actor.
Don't forget his outstanding performance on MIB III. And also, as James Butler Hickok on the Young Riders.
Josh Brolin is a great guest...so much fun and just plain crazy! 😅
Didn't know he was in the Goonies until now have to watch it again now
Yup he’s the older brother, I think he was like 16 at the time
Seth’s arm movements😂
lol yes!!
Omg I was literally coming to the comments to say this...ever since Poehler pointed it out I can't help but notice it all the time now 😄
fart face is one my favorite sketch, I played it for my friend expecting to get lots of loughter, and no kidding not a single smile.
If I had a nickel for every time I had to see Josh Brolin without a shirt on on a late night show during the Dune 2 press run...I'd have 2 nickels, but it's still weird it happened twice
Where else has he done it?! 😂😂
@@hey412you+1

So great to be reminded of Fart Face. Such a great sketch with Forte's fingerprints all over it.
Brolin is such a great actor, talk show guest, and all around great guy! That’s awesome that he’s involved with an anti-war charity, I would have loved to hear more about that
I find it hilarious that Brolin calls Bautista "Dave BOO-tista."
Ahhh Brolin! Suddenly I don't feel so bad when I take my shirt off!😂😂😂❤
My coworker who really loves Dune is going to see the new one for a second time really soon, so like its hitting it out of the park for those who really love it. I'm personally burnt out on the whole "chosen one" archetype currently, but hey I'll prolly get my ass to read the book and watch the movies at some point so I'm here to bump up residuals babyyyyy.
Sci-fi isn’t really my thing in general, but I have read the book. They kinda get more into it in the sequels but the idea is to question the “chosen one” myth - as the story progresses more, it starts to raise questions about whether he is “the one” and how that could be a bad figure to idolize. Pretty interesting concept (I haven’t seen the movies yet so I’m not sure how much of that is in them though)
I've travelled a lot in my life and met a lot of people, and the best people in the world are always just like Josh Brolin: smart, dedicated, talented, but also take nothing seriously, especially themselves, and always come off more than anything as friendly, funny, cocky, self-deprecating and kind.
We all should aim to be like Josh Brolin.
If you choose to revisit that first "Californians" skit, make sure to check out the Dress Rehearsal version [also available on the SNL yt channel]. Hader's irrepressible breaking is gold.
He is inevitable 😎👍
Dude is even great in Jonah Hex.
What a nice guy.
Thanks josh, put a smile on my jaded face.
I watch Sicario and Soldado back-to-back every 2-3 months, and I don’t see that ever stopping. Brolin is a huge part of that.
“Anti war” “Let keep it right there !”
Don't forget about Young Riders!! Jimmy forever!!!
Josh seems like a guy who would be a blast to hang out with
YES, DAVE BAUTISTA!!
I'm watching Bluey too!!
I've seen no country for old men three times, brilliant film. I'm going to look for it on Netflix or wherever I can find it.
Oh, Seth. Rarely have I seen you watch in silence - not super judgy; just kind of letting things be as they are... but it speaks volumes. Love you.
Maybe they can figure out a new Californians for this week's show..?!😊❤
I still think the greatest skit in SNL history was Josh brolin and Amy Poehler doing I'm no angel while Amy was pregnant. That is just the most hilarious thing I've ever seen.🎉
Great sketch. Her struggling out of the chair and the look of realization on everyone's face. One of the best.
@@funkenstien1155 I liked when brolin took a look at her and was smiling shaking his head and then all of a sudden he noticed she was pregnant and his eyes got real wide 🙂 Yeah that was our great sketch with great music!
He is THE BEST. Did you see him in True Grit? A real bona fide actor.
Dune was awesome! Can't wait for the sequel.
thank you
This guy needs to do some serious movies and show his talent.
Brilliant.
Dad is James Brolin and stepmother is Barbara Streisand but Josh is incredibly laid back and
humble.
Josh is enjoying his life now.
#Respect #Love #Real
A real star !

Josh has to do a Goonies sketch on SNL. Let's go!
Legend
Goonies hold uo
Yes, he was in the Goonies, great show!
Speaking to what was said close to the end of this clip. Cinema HAS to stay alive. I’ve been to many opening nights, and it’s always magical. To be around other people with the same interest, and to all sit and be polite while we all enjoy a moment away from the norm is just magical. I’ve had many moments at the theater I will always remember. But my number one favorite was the first Spider-Man with Toby. I had to buy my tickets a month in advance. And saw it at the Fenway theater in Boston. Literally a stones throw from Fenway park. People wore Spider-Man costumes. Girls died their hair red to be like Mary Jane. The cinemas need to be supported! With that said….keep sneaking in snacks. They don’t need that kind of markup. That’s beyond comprehension…..other than that, support them! Lol
I just saw fart face, I couldn't stop laughing
How can you not like a dude who admitted sun burning his butt hole. Rock on Josh.
Was that freakin Adrian Young?!!
I've never seen Goonies from beginning to end. 😮
Good guy!
Brolin is anti war? Amazing! ❤
Seth, learn from him.
The best
My dream man
Instantly likeable.
They gotta revive The Californians.
"THE BAY-BEE!!"
Although hes done so much top quality work in his career...i have to admit that when Brolin speaks, all i can see is Thanos...😂
its crazy that the "movies you may know him from DIDN'T include an Thanos roles and yet it was still 3 major fucking hits.
Dude is insane.
I recognized his steps
I want that T-Shirt
I know exactly what Josh means about the movies in a theater. My first big movie in a theater where I really grasped the experience was Star Wars. I was 11, and it was cathartic. I discovered a new kind of reality watching that movie in its native habitat.
IMAX is just like seeing a movie in the theater in my imagination - like I'm in the movie. Until real holodecks are here, good theaters are the best way to see movies.
Fantasia when I was 3/4 and Star Wars when I was 11. Same effect. Glad to know I'm not alone.
