  • Note: Sorry for the awful use of the Hex Key, I have learned to use it now. The video was not about on "How to Use an Hex Key", but some viewers seemed to be annoyed about it, so I apologize. The Micro block is very useful, I simply wanted to show the assembled item., and that was it.
    I went ahead and purchased this micro block, I had a tight budget and was skeptical about the quality. I unpacked/unboxed it, assembled it and used the Microblock to set a moonstone on a Sterling Silver Ring I had fabricated.
    In conclusion, I am so excited and happy with this mini block, the tool is so similar to the re known brand one, it’s just perfect for the work I do, and for starters it is much Cheaper!, it’s sturdy, comfortable to handle and rotates, it fits my hand perfectly too!. I can’t spend a large amount of money on the brand names and why anyway? This one works just fine, can’t be happier with my purchase.
    The description is below, and I am also providing the Amazon link if you are interested in the item.

      I understand, I honestly used an hex key so long ago & I was only really worried about putting it together, but as you see I made it! , LOL. I certainly KNOW WHAT THE MICROBLOCK IS FOR, I use it and it is useful. It seems that the way I used the hex key annoys viewers, but hey, it is not a lesson on How to Use an Hex Key, it is Only about me purchasing a Mini Microblock and showing the item. Thank you anyway, and who knows when I will use an hex key again, but ill use the long end for sure! 😂😂😂

      @@ihivara If your face of concern is the Hex Key do not even worry, it was not a lesson on how to use the hex key, because certainly I did not know how to use it but, in the end I assembled the Micro Block for the viewers to see what it looked like , that was the point. Thanks

      @@frommybenchpin5717 Don't worry. But the first thing that came to my mind was a hex key. Good luck to you 🤝

      So glad you have had a good experience. I was really impressed with it and I use it all the time. I have small hands and it’s a breeze when setting stones. Thank you for your comment.

    Thank you for the review.
    May I ask if the ring holder rotates as well or sticks kn the same face/position? I mean for full stone setting rings.

    • @frommybenchpin5717
      @frommybenchpin5717  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The ring holder stays in place, if you need to rotate it, you have to turn the handle on the side to rotate it manually, then close it again . It will move a little while setting depending on the force you apply. Hope this helps :) Thank you

      Look for Mekkisupplies on ETSY, they are in New Delhi but ship worldwide. I’ve heard good things about them, but I have not purchased anything yet. I believe they have affordable prices.

    Is it supposed to lift out of the base? I have this one and it doesn’t stay in the base nor are there screws to hold it to the white base. Ty

    • @frommybenchpin5717
      @frommybenchpin5717  Před rokem +1

      The plastic base is only a support to hold the ball and it rotates to the position you hold it, it does not screw.

      Did you find it difficult to work without having the white base secured?

    • @frommybenchpin5717

      @@nineamulets7689Not at all, you constantly need to move the ball around to do the setting work, so to have constant rotation makes sense in a way. If you want a more secure one, or a tool with less motion, there is the GRS vise available, also using a small standard vice is another alternative. It depends what you are looking for, or feel comfortable using. I hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply.

      @@nineamulets7689 Yes i did, mostly i fabricate small jewelry and this vise is just right for that kind of work. I do use a regular vice that I bought at home depot to hold bigger things, and protect the jaws with copper sheet and leather while working. But yes, this small ball vise is just right for setting or working on small pieces of jewelry, plus you can hold it tight while working because it fits in your hand. :) Hope this helps
