  • This is an overview of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM). RCM is a maintenance strategy that establishes criticality levels for plant equipment, documents failure modes and effects for this equipment, then applies the best maintenance techniques to equipment, drawing from a variety of approaches. The presentation discusses the basics of implementing RCM, and how ABB services such as ServicePro and ServicePort can help.

    sir ive a question.... Why reliability factor ke decreases with the increase of reliability%.
    This is illustrated in the book of SHIGLEY's mechanical engineering design, chapter 6, table 6-5..
    Please elaborate this concept

    • @ranaiqtidar
      @ranaiqtidar Před 5 lety +3

      As reliability increases you have to be conservative which results into lesser reliability factor Ke thus reducing endurance strength (Se). means you can still put more load and have higher Se but you restrict yourself for lesser load and Se as you dont want to take any risk of failure to have high reliability.
