Ric Flair is a 21x World Heavyweight Champion around the world. John Cena is a 16x WWE World Champion. It's a slight difference to me between the two because one has been all around and the other has been in one promotion.

Theres a difference between being a 16 time world Champion and being a 16 time Company Champion.
Flair won World titles in WCW, NWA and WWE.
Cena can win 20 world titles but all those 20 will be in one company.
Flairs record has a credibility to it that will never, ever be matched.
Basically Cena broke flairs record when he won the wwe title from edge for a second time in 2006. Flair has only held 1 wwe world title. So.. yeah.

Uh, WWE does not own the NWA, which Flair is a 10 time NWA World Champion. WWE is inconsistent in that they recognize Race beating Flair in New Zealand in 1984 and they recognize Tatsumi Fujinami beating Flair in 1991 but in both cases don't reproduce Flair regaining the title. Why? Why do they count the WCW International title amongst Sting's wins and Rick Rude's but don't count that Flair was the first and last champ?

Ok, you're an idiot. WWE did not buy the NWA, Billy Corgan did. I've already mentioned two switches that WWE recognizes, why do they not recognize Flair regaining the title both times? They recognize 6 WCW reigns, but its8. Flair was the first WCW champion, WWE ignores this. Flair vacated the WCW title after a match against Rick Steamboat and Flair won the rematch. Check CZcams, the match is on here. They introduce Flair as an 11 time champion and after winning the rematch they start calling him a 12 time champ. Weeks later they go back to 11. The WCW International title, if anything was more of a world title than WCW's main title. Defended in Japan, held by guys like Hiroshi Hase, Sting, Rude, and Flair was the first and last champ. 22 not 16.

Wouldn’t matter if Cena did break it. The title means nothing now. You can’t compare what the NWA title meant vs today’s BS belts. I know Flair’s 16x includes WCW/WWF, but the majority of his run, the belt meant something. You were in a privileged position with serious travel/wrestling responsibilities
