    its extremely rare for someone to be even more successful outside of WWE due to WWE being miles above every other promotion in terms of limelight and marketing. I'm so happy to see Cody rising above WWE.

    • @sharkyxmas197

      It is becoming increasingly less rare! and if the definition of 'successful' expands from just money, I think the work/life/money in terms of per appearance and royalties/health/creativity/enjoyment balance might just make yourself even more of a success, even if you aren't making as much.

      Not that wild to believe he was making more on the independent scene than the WWE at this time. He was able to work shows everywhere and the merchandise set up they had. And then mix in what he likely made in the WWE in the middle of the card. It’s not like he was making millions there at that time. Obviously he wasn’t making more at this stage than he is now in the WWE. The money was out there if you hustled for it and they did.

      heavy weight champion?. the title that matters the most. if wwe does not give you a heavy weight title run, they do not think highly of you since that title is the most important in the company. It represents the best of the company. the fact that cody never got a heavy wight title run means they did not think highly enough of him. and they had cody as constant gimmicks all the time.

    Happy to see Cody successful. He keeps it real and is a genuine guy who's very likable in real life. That'll transition well in the ring, I'm an instant fan.

    When Cody was with WWE I could tell he had a lot more to offer the industry but the " monster muscle " mind set of WWE is the reason why he left in my mind . I'm so happy he's doing well and is so happy inside and out

    I think the concern about The Bullet Club adding more people is legit. One of the things WWE did well with The Shield is they did not bring in any additional members. It was Seth, Dean and Roman from the start till the end. You don't want to get greedy like with the nWo.

    • @DIESEL0759
      @DIESEL0759 Před 5 lety

      The NWO could have survived with more people, just that it was all the wrong people joining. No one cared about Brutus Beefcake, Scott Norton, Eric Bischoff, or some of the other Z-grade talent.
      I don't even get why everyone puts Bischoff on a pedestal. He had ONE successful idea in how many years in charge? He was in charge at least as far back as 1992 (look for him in your home video credits), but it took him until when to finally come up with the idea to do what Raw had been doing before? Even then, his single idea, the NWO was a copy of something someone else had come up with...how does that make him a genius, exactly?
      Further, I call either BS, hazy memory, or exaggeration of the origins of Nitro. Turner had ownership of WCW since 1991, and he suddenly cared about WWE when??

  • @kca49

    He said, it's not about "the brand defining you but you defining the brand." That's not how it works in the WWE.

    • @DIESEL0759
      @DIESEL0759 Před 5 lety

      There's a point to what you say, but as it relates to WWE, they have a lot more years in business, so at this point, it IS about the brand. Like it or no, that's just the way it is. Even their brand evolves. From WWWF to WWF and now WWE, and from all sorts of different "eras" (kind of like dynasties), which I think is kind of lame, but it's how they describe different times in company history, because they don't like to define by the wrestlers. Wrestlers come and go, but WWE will always be there, as will McMahons (this is more or less something McMahon once said as it relates to why he became on-screen talent in the wake of Bret Hart's unceremonious departure).
