In this video we share ideas that we have used over the years to develop a successful family workshop and earn money from the scroll saw projects that we make.
The scroll saw is one of the most important machines here at our family workshop and we use it to make a variety of scroll saw items for sale.

I use to make really good money with my scroll saw I work in a factory 39 years scrolling was just a great hobby for me my wife was a great painter an finisher I just love working in wood

A great video, as always. I find it hard to judge how much to charge for my projects. If I price low, I find that I'm inundated with orders, and then I have no fun, too high, and people morn and stop ordering all together.
That sounds very familiar Mark. It's especially challenging this year because everything is going up in price and we're often expected to not do the same.

This is an excellent video as always. I have bought a Hegner second hand and love it.
It's advises to put some oil on the pivot points on the upper and lower arms. Can you please if possible, advise me of the correct type of oil that you use.

Hi Richard,
I use some spray grease from time to time. It does the job for us. Both our scroll saws are still going strong after 20+years too. They are great machines and minimum maintenance too. If you ever have any issues Hegner UK have always offered us great support too.

How do I market and sell my products?
Hi Tabib, we use a number of different ways to promote the items we make. This includes social media, advertising in magazines and television, word of mouth, giving talks and demonstrations on what we do. Our family workshop is a visitor attraction, so people come to see what we do. It is a free to visit attraction so this encourages people to come and see what we have to offer.

Do I need any other tools along with the scroll saw to do this?
@tabibhossain9726 pillar drill and a belt sander are needed to do many of these projects. Wood carving tools are useful too.
