- STRAIGHT POOL - Russia’s RUSLAN CHINAKHOV and UK’S JAYSON SHAW were in the finals of the 2015 Derby City Classic 14.1 Challenge. Chinakhov, 23, had been a high finisher in a variety of disciplines on the International stage. Shaw, 26, just won back-to-back Turning Stone Classic titles. Well he got better at it. And by respect he meant the pattern play and moving the cue ball a lot
I played Ruslan in a friendly "fan" match to train when i was originally spectating him in Stavanger open cup in Norway. I managed to run out first rack, and then he asked me if i was a hustler 🤣 but, no.. i just got lucky and played in my best state. Then after he got to the table i got rekt 😅 but was great fun!
Jayson watched this match and heard the commentator talking MAD SHIT and decided to get the world high run of over 700 balls. LOOK AT ME NOW PAL
Mark…if you see this…Im from the QC’s. I used to play at your pool room in Moline many years ago. Around the time Efren came and played there with you. I really like the way you explain things in your on air commentary. I love straight pool! I have picked up some great points from you here on AccuStats!

It was nice to see the contrast of styles. JS playing fast and loose. RC playing paced and tactical. RC won this game, but we all know what JS is capable of. Too bad we didn't see that here. I like the way RC controls the ball, and the comment was right, he didn't need to be a great ball shooter. His tactical game kept him from getting in trouble. JS's patterns were better and the balls laid out better for him, just missed some crucial shots.
