- While it might be fun to make fun of Yamcha for being weak, in this video I explain why Yamcha is actually FAR stronger than you think. He is one of the most powerful characters in Dragon Ball, and despite statements saying that Krillin is the strongest human, just looking at Yamcha's feats alone is enough to prove that Yamcha is actually the strongest human in Dragon Ball.
Yamcha is Stronger then the Ginyu Force, Freiza and even Cell.

I remember when yamcha went inside the training capsule and set it on 300x earth’s gravity with no prior training and actually survived it

Yamcha was NEVER intended to be weak, he was designed to be the goofy guy but never weak. people who consider him weak because of his character are usually the same people that have never watched Dragon Ball in the early days but jumped on the hype wagon in the much later years.

You don't have to watch Dragon Ball, you can clearly watch Z and Super and still get the premise. Just because someone didn't watch Dragon Ball doesn't mean they don't know about Yamcha's goofy character. That's more of Akira Toriyama's fault that Yamaha is considered weak by the fans. Maybe if Yamcha killed the saibaman and got killed by nappa or the other z fighters were having trouble against the saibaman maybe the fans wouldn't call Yamcha weak.
@A Bot yes I know he got surprised attacked and yamcha did have funny moments in dbz and dbs. That one time he was kicking everyone's ass on that baseball field and In super when they showed his death pose in the baseball episode. Almost all his filler moments just made him a good character. Even if you didn't know his character in dragon ball doesn't mean you absolutely have to watch it.

Reasons Yamcha is a badass and not a meme
1)Wolf Fang Fist is self-taught
2)In the original dub, the voice actor of Yamcha sings his own theme songs
3)He got knocked out times in 3 budokais in the 1st serious round, but in 2 of those he lost to the eventual winner , and the 3rd to the literal guardian of earth
4)Managed to fight Tambourine a bit before getting overpowered, note this same guy beat goku , and killed some of the strongest martial artist earth had to offer( krillin, Chappa O)
5)Banged Bulma before anyone else
6)Managed to power up enough to reach Raditz power level within a year
7) Managed to match and out skill Saibamen who are the same powerlevel as Raditz, a dude that literally beat the piss out of the strongest earth had to offer and even straight up tanked the kamehameha and the evil demon wave PIccolo used in a handicap match before being killed
8) Took away sick Goku to safety and probably saving his timeline
9)Desert Bandit Yamcha had a sick outfit
10)Has a successful career after giving up being a full time fighter
11) He is one of the very first characters introduced to us, along with the others you said as well.

Correction: Yamcha didn't die against the Androids, he survived his encounter with Gero, and later fought against the Cell jrs. He didn't die until he was killed by Majin Buu alondside everyone else.

To put things in perspective for a sec, picture the greatest real-life warriors and martial artists of all time. They would get their ass handed to them by frickin Yajirobe! Does mean they're weak?

Yamcha might be the best z fighter. If he would’ve kept training he would probably be two times stronger than Krillin.
One of the guidebooks lists how fat yamcha’s power increased as on of the greatest feats in the series.
If anything he WAS stronger than Krillin at one point. Goku at four years old who spent a few months, maybe a year training in martial Arts and is a saiyan baby is clearly able to destroy the planet. Krillin, a young kid who is older yet shorter than Son Goku at four years old and spent his entire life training in martial arts from Orin Temple as a monk. Yamcha whooped Son Goku with his Wolf Fang Fist ALONE. No Neo Wolf Fang Fist. No Kamehameha. No Spirit-Ball. No Kaio-Ken. No gravity training. He whooped Son Goku even without his sword. So he clearly could whoop Krillin at the time.

Bullshit, Krilin fought somewhat on equal terms with Piccolo while Yamcha got destroyed by Kami in a normal human's body, mind you Kami was easily beaten by Piccolo later on.

Seems like a pretty big fuckup maybe he ain't watched it in awhile. But other than that I dont see that many huge mistakes. I would say the point defintiely still gets across, which is that yamcha is constantly trailing behind the saiyans but on many occasions continued to push himself to levels that it took even them years to reach. I wouldn't say hes the strongest human, hes the only one who quits training altogether basically and he defintiely always took fighting less seriously than most of his homies but hes undeniably a beast of a man. He could already kick the ass of almost anyone on earth by the end of dragonball and he only gets tougher in Z no matter how little they show it.

Yamcha was able to move at 300x gravity. That's insane if you do the math, especially for a human. Look at Videl shes considered the second strongest human fighter yet shes probably weaker than kid Goku at the beginning of dragon ball. Yamcha bested kid Goku who was able to tank bullets and lift cars at that time.

Speaking of Cannons Yamcha being cocky and killed by Saibaman is not Cannon either. Yamcha in the manga actually sensed something is wrong and therefore decided to fight as first guy. Literally saving the life of his comrades.

@@MrRohanThomas In the Manga Yamcha actually sensed something bad about the Saibaman. He wasn't cocky but offered himself to fight as first. And this way actually saved the life of his comrades. Because Krillin and Chiaotzu had already died once them dying again would have meant no return.

All good points. That and his powers are actually pretty clever. Spirit Ball requires an incredible level of skill to perform. It sacrifices a of brute force for unmatched control and speed. An excellent attack. Wolf's Fan Fist is no joke either when it comes to overwhelming someone with a combination of grabs, strikes, and illusion. Ki Blast Thrust is an excellent gap closer and power hit all at once. They illustrate that one well in Dragon Ball Xenoverse II, where he can plow through ki blast attacks and absolutely smash his attacker. Overall an underrated and excellent character.

That's absolute bollocks because no one in the Dragon Ball franchise has ever gotten strong enough to destroy the entire solar system. Not even Goku at Super Saiyan 3 could do such a feat. Goku could probably destroy Jupiter by that point, but not the Sun.

Explosion is a base 250 power move, and Yamcha isn't a bulky tank who can resist normal type moves.
Now that I look back at things it's kinda crazy as a child yamcha was actually my favorite watching dragon ball then expecting him 2 shine in dbz kinda bummed me out but I found tien and piccolo so it's cool lol.

Yamcha wasn't just Super Saiyan level at Buu's saga. Again. Obilu could probably take on King Cold, Frieza, and P. Cell just like pikkon did. And Yamcha BODIED the dude. No way shape or form was Yamcha just Super Saiyan level. If anything he was on par with Super Saiyan 2, and definitely no less. Yamcha truly is powerful, fans have just made him into a joke, and now not even Akira Toriyama takes him seriously.

The funny thing is, people don’t talk about the fact that ANYONE of the characters aside from the saiyans and Piccolo would’ve gotten killed by a Saibamen, hell, the reason Yamcha fought was _because_ he knew any one of them could’ve gotten killed.
Even if he wasn't as strong as we all know he could be if he put in the effort there's no reason for him to get as much hate as he has over the years I really don't get why so many people insist on trolling Yamcha and as cruel and implied in the series The Only Reason Yamcha was really so weak is because he hardly trained after a while he just stopped if he kept training he could probably be stronger than Krillin maybe even on par with the Androids but he never got to that level at least not in the series.
Yamcha was not killed by Gero, he was sucked of all his energy with that grab and in the end was saved by the others coming at the spot and Krillin giving him a senzu, for building a defense case for Yamcha, you are kinda not documented with the facts.

The Anime and the History of Trunks special show Future Yamcha getting killed in different ways. He gets hit with a blast in the anime and kicked in the neck in the special. Thank you for pointing out my mistake without being a dick like most people would have. But none of that changes the fact that Yamcha is the most underrated character in the series.

When it comes to Canon Story, he is the comedic resource. However, in filler he is godlike.
3:45 Yamcha actually didn't die but he would have died had he not taken that Senzu bean.... it matters how many times the Z Fighters died in the series!
Minor caveat: Yamcha did beat Goku in Dragonball but Goku was starving at the time and couldn't use his full energy. That being said, Yamcha has never had a release of his hidden potential like Krillin has by the Elder on Namek. Also in regards to the Racoome feat. He was able to do that after training on King Kai's planet. Note that this place has a 10x gravity. Goku during the same period, was training up to 100x gravity. So what's more impressive? Yamcha, a "normal" human being able to match the same feat as a Sayan with far less struggles?
Its not Yamcha's fault that Toriyama basically just tossed him, Tien, and Krillin to the floor.
Hell I asked a group of people how they would've kept those 3 prominent and in less that 10 minutes we had a dozen ideas.

Yamcha was not killed by Gero nor any of the androids during the android/Cell saga. He was about to die but he was saved by Sensu bean. Then he realizes he was of no use and leaves with Goku to cure him + to guard him and his house. Krilling stayed with the rest of the Z fighters, but he was also dominated by Gero with no effort and proved how much away was his powerlevel from enemy androids.
He stood kind of OK for a little while against Cell Jrs, holding his own and managing to defend Goku along with Tien for a little.
During Majin Buu he had quit fighting and training, since he was not even on the same league than Saiyans but after being killed by Super Buu he went to king kai planet and then he proved to keep being in a good fighting condition. He was on pair with Krilling before facing kid buu.
Prior to Super came the movie "yo! goku and his friends are back" and in there he had a minor but interesting role saving bulma from a falling building. Everything was pointing in the direction of bringing Yamcha back into usefullness...
But then "Super" came... In cell saga the Z fighters said in one of the first episodes "we evacuated everybody including Yamcha and Chaotzu. since they aren't powerfull enough to come here" and that was a blast for me, that showed what Toriyama had coming for the former coolest character in DB.
That was it... i never really watched Dragon Ball Super, except for every Yamcha intervention including the baseball episode, which was more of a mocking to the character (and an insult to his fanbase) than anything else... I hoped Yamcha was going to be surprisedly bringed back into the tournament, but Toriyama rather took Roshi, which was a complete nonsense (the Saiyan Saga Yamcha was already 4x as powerfull as Roshi...)
That was why i think Yamcha will never be cool again, and i'm fine with that... Toriyama can do whatever he likes with their characters... he just lost a DB fan in me...

I think yamcha should have the namekian elder unleash his hidden power and then be able to match goku, that would be badass and yamcha fans around the world will get their will to live back
The Androids (Cyborgs really) were powerful for no reason at all, literally. Gero had told Goku that his research never got up to Namek and therefore he'd never known about a Super Saiyan so how can the Androids be stronger than a Super Saiyan Gero had never seen? He would have had to guess their power levels but he'd be there all day. Whatever number he picks he falls shore of SSJ1.
