    Another way to keep the NC & NW is this: NC’s are neutral cool shades (yellow tones). Think of the C standing for a (yellow) Canary. NW’s are neutral warms (pink tones). Think of the W standing for (pink) Watermelon. Hope that helps someone!

      I'm confused about how something neutral can be warm or cool? Isn't the whole point of neutral to be... neutral? X

      But using the color wheel (which is a MUA’s “holy grail”), pink is considered cool and yellow is warm. Do MAC not contradict this entire theory?

      A good moisturizer is the best choice underneath this foundation, you can try it with a silicone based primer but you may find some separation on the skin after a while because of the waxes and oils in this palette.

    I just bought this a few months back along with the light & deep Studio Fix correct & conceal palettes to make light & deep shades. To moisturize/thin-out I bought the MAC Prep+Prime Essential Oils Stick. It has good reviews, and it seems nice. Have you tried the Pro Palette Painstick x12 (MAC version of MUFE Flash Palettes brights) to color adjust? Just thought I'd ask, since you & Terri just took us through color-wheel exercises. Thanks again Angie.

      I haven't used the paint stick in many many years, but for a while they were a staple in my kit. The paint sticks are emollient based and work similarly to the MUFE Flash palette - they are less greasy but can seem more dry (if that makes sense).

    I know this question doesn’t have anything to do with Mac, but I’m not sure if you’ve decided to change anything about the way you go about makeup applications due to Covid? Such as implementing face masks and or shields etc... here in the states, there isn’t many steps one takes to ensure a safe application for makeup. Now I am a licensed cosmetologist and I have been implementing those steps into makeup but just curious if you were going to do anything different any tips would be helpful!

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety +1

      Yes I definitely am and I think all makeup artists are going to have to change their approach now, and beyond covid-19 to do whatever is necessary to keep themselves and their clients safe. I am in the process of completely changing my entire way of working and doing business. Once I have my new system figured out and reviewed by the appropriate people, I will start to share this with everyone. It is truly a complete overhaul so this will take some time.

    What skin prep would work best for this depending on skin types?
    I used this on someone and I had a gel moisturiser w matte finnish and the foundation looked dry and a bit cakey. This also have a very dewy finish so how to make it long lasting on very oily skin in hot weather?

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 3 lety

      It sounds like your client's skin was not hydrated enough prior to application. To use this product on oilier skin types (of course it will differ from person to person) but you may want to experiment with different skin prep that hydrates but also controls oil, mattifying primer, and layering oil absorbing setting sprays throughout application (maybe not all at once).

    Hi Angie, I need to diversify my kit for non black skin tones as I am moving to another country. Would you recommend this MAC palette or the RCMA

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety

      I can't recommend one over the other - because they are both incomplete when it comes to having a full shade range in one palette. Regardless of what you purchase you will still need to supplement with additional shades/adjusters for your kit.

    Using the MAC as a concelear is it still ok on oily skin instead of makeup? Meaning, thinking of setting in fine lines and creasing.

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety

      The skin would still have to be prepped properly and you would need the appropriate powder to set.

  • @paulineozga243

    After I moisturizer and prime the skin this foundation still seems to break up on the skin. What could the issue be? I’ve tried a brush and sponge for application.

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety +1

      There are lots of reasons why this could be happening - the ingredients in your moisturizer and/or primer may not work with the base of this foundation, you may be using too much moisturizer and/or primer, too much foundation, you may need to consider what you are setting it with etc. Sometimes you have to break down the application process and consider all these things when something isn't working so it can be frustrating!

    Hi Angie!
    You might have a video addressing this already, but what are your thoughts on using airbrush mainly regarding bridal? Im afraid brides wont book me if I dont use an airbrush machine, do you find this to be true?

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Kelsi! A few things about airbrushing to think about:
      - There are some markets where a majority of artists airbrush for their bridal clients, if you are in a market like this you may want to consider airbrushing to stay competitive
      - You can have a successful business without airbrushing, I haven't airbrushed since the early 00's but with that being said I am moving back to airbrushing because I see it as a more hygienic way of makeup application moving forward (less touching, fewer brushes used).

      I don’t know what the brand name is unfortunately. I have purchased them from a few different places (dollar store, craft store) and I don’t have any left in their original packaging. I wouldn’t buy ones that are super thin because they are not strong enough. I look for ones that are a few millimetres thick (probably not helpful). I would also say maybe shop around and buy a few different ones to test first before you buy in bulk.

    • @AngieDiB

      I have and the result is slightly better with Cinema Secrets because it is also emollient based. With Face Atelier there is some separation because the foundation is silicone based.

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety

      You should definitely experiment with it on yourself and give it a try (I try everything I have in my kit on myself to see how products work and how I can use them) - it is an emollient base so it will be easy to work with. With products like this that are very pigmented you have to be careful with use around the eyes and mouth (this is the same for the Flash Palette) there are some people that maybe be sensitive to the pigments (usually it's the reds/purples/pinks that can cause a problem, but this is not for everyone) so you will see on their site it is not recommended for eyes or lips even thought it is sold as a body paint.

  • @slaybaenay
    @slaybaenay Před 4 lety

    Hi! Just found your channel. Can I mix this or the rcma with grape seed oil for a matte finish? I don’t want to rely too heavily on powders. I really would prefer to use single bottles such as studio fix liquid or makeup forever for each client but as a new MUA I have to think of what will stretch my funds longer. Any advice?

    • @AngieDiB
      @AngieDiB  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey! I haven’t tried mixing anything in my kit with grapeseed oil so I really don’t know how that would affect this foundation. Any cream products like this palette or RCMA are not self setting products so you will need to powder them even when mixed or diluted unless you are working on something where you don’t need to set the foundation (maybe for a luminous finish on a shorter shoot) but for longevity and to prevent the foundation from really moving around on the skin in my experience they need to be set with powder.

    • @slaybaenay
      @slaybaenay Před 4 lety

      Angie Di Battista thanks! I worked on someone a few days ago. She had dry skin. I didn’t realize my Mac cream palette had the oil that you mentioned in it because it’s listed as a studio fix product so I mixed it in with some beauty oil from Danessa Myricks to help it not be too matte on her skin but once I put the powder on (which was very little because she has dry skin and I wanted to keep the glowy look for pictures once we were done) the concealer creased so bad under her eyes! I ended up taking it off and redoing it. I prepped her with a hydration mask, under eye gel from cetaphil, vitamin c and moisturizer and primer before applying any makeup but under the eyes specifically just wasn’t setting clean. She said this always happens to her. I’ve mixed the beauty oil with the same Mac concealer before who also had dry skin but no creasing happened. She said it always happens to her no matter the MUA, what do you think it could be? Next time I will try very little product and set it and see how that works. Thanks!

I've had really dry flakey skin ynder the eye n that eye cream helped the makeup to stay put n look ok. The key is to not apply too much product under the eyes for minimal crease. So application should be in the inner corner n outer corner n then blend it outward from inner corner n going outward.. look up for rober welsh video for that better explanation
