As an expert on all things kirby, I can give you what you're looking for. While it's unclear if kirby is actually a reincarnated Void, it's pretty darn clear that kirby is a dark matter, his copy ability is only shared by several dark matter characters. including gooey, a character who in Dreamland 3 straight up has kirby's copy ability as the player 2 of that game... yeah, let's just say there's a ton of evidence that kirby is a dark matter

See you in another 12 years when we're still not drowning, the ice caps are still growing (NASA Study Ice Caps Expanding not shrinking, 2015) and when all those alarmists who lied and said that the science was on their side are living in their ocean front property that they are still buying (recently Obama).
Can't wait for the next doomsday prediction from climate alarmists who have been doing this since at-least the 60's if not earlier, to stir up the fear mongering to try and convince people to give them power and money to solve a problem that's not actually a problem.
Not that the environment shouldn't be taken care of, but ridiculous stuff like the Green New Deal would be catastrophic and would cause far more problems, even if it was realistic. Besides these alarmists ignore that the vast majority of the worlds physical pollution (like the islands of plastic in the ocean) don't come from US, it comes from China and India, but that wouldn't fit the narrative that America needs to vote these people into power because we're basically stabbing the planet and draining it's lifeforce like a Mako reactor.
But they like to repeat the "2nd largest CO2 emitter!" line (conflating "Carbon emissions" and CO2 emissions which are entirely different) even tho the pseudo-science claim of CO2 actually doing great harm to the environment is full of holes especially when backed with the history of the planet and reaction of plant and animal life (CO2 is not a pollutant, Prager University, by Co-founder of Greenpeace).

Take the backlash of his Persona theory, take it down a small bit, and apply it to his Kirby theory a few weeks ago and you basically have what happened.
@@fatcerberus Because everything that Mat had talked about was covered by Meteorz, and who is the go-to when it comes to Kirby lore. Mat wasn't exactly very accurate, and so what Meteorz covered was more thorough. No ill will or anything, but since people know more about the lore from Meteorz at the very least, I guess a lot of people pointed out Mat's inaccuracies. I'm biased though since I do Meteorz' translations from time to time though.
The thing is a lot of the information was inaccurate. Meteorz for an example, has more proven evidence backing up everything.
Plus a lot of the Kirby fandom already knew the information given. (Like how Kirby being called a Pink demon)
Also, to put all simply, if a person's favorite character was being misinterpreted by another person, more likely said person will speak up about it.

I think Kirby has the ability to separate the nitrogen from the oxygen as he sucks in air. The earth's atmosphere is composed of 78% nitrogen and its lighter then air. If he fills himself up with nitrogen it should provide some good lift.

I'm skeptical that the drag is enough to explain the size of this effect to be honest. My own personal theory is that Kirby is filled with the fires of hell, which makes the air warm up and expand.
Honestly, I think that because Kirby is some sort of single cellular organism, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that when he inhales, he could filter out heavier elements of air through his surface. It probably wouldn't be perfect, and this drag theory probably has a part in it, but we could imagine that it gives him a decent boost in his bouyancy, enough so that just flapping his nubblets results in just barely rising. This theory also explains how Dedede, a much heavier and denser character, of seemingly somewhat similar biology to Kirby, can fly almost as well.

i was really looking forward to part 2 of the lore. such a shame since i, and i'm sure many others don't know the lore. it seems a bit silly not to like/want a theory simply because you have played a certain game/know about the lore already. watching/hearing matpat's take on the lore would have been interesting to see in a full episode and not quickly summed up in a few mins :(

If the air has helium in it then it has the same density as the surrounding air, so no buoyant force
theory: Dream Land's atmosphere has an abundance of helium. Kirby has a membrane in the back of his head that filters the helium to make him float.

I'll say what I've said to a few other people, check out Meteorz, he'll help keep you up to date on Kirby lore. He's a really good source, remain un-biased, and often updates outdated material.

Hey matpat, I see a lot of negativity on the new format. Although I do not think this format could work on all future videos, I see this working on videos with a focus on science. I like the Bill Nye The Science Guy vibes. Keep up the good work!

I am a big fan of this format to be honest, I wasn't a big fan of the previous format change, wich stayed for years, so I'm glad to see something else now
Kind of missed the photoshop Matpat. Could you maybe use real matpat for scenes like with the balloons, but photoshop matpat was used for everything else?

That could ease the tension a little. Some like when he does a video like the fnaf analysis video goes very well if this format but if he put the photoshopped mat in the 0laces he keeps popping out of it would probably be less jarring and raise in frustration
It's always photoshop ,as Pewdiepie proves CZcamsrs don't have legs, so he must be photoshopped but is still moving
Also I like both. But a hybrid in these types of videos would work. The I really loved the beginning so I'd definitely keep that part
