I love how this guy's videos get right to the point, and another plus is he doesn't try to be a stand up comedian : O
Thanks man, can’t stand other youtubers like that. Appreciate the comment 🙂
Agree, many youtubers are die hard stand up comedians (cringe)
@@thatvideogamesshow no, we need to appreciate you !
@@thatvideogamesshow You are most welcome brother, I forgot to ad that most of your recommendations are right on point.
EXACTLY!! Spawn Wave is another great YouTubber!
I treasure my Suikoden and Suikoden 2 nobody is even allowed to take them off the shelf for a look
I want to buy them from you
how overprotective
@@PiroKUSS look up how much they each go for in mint condition trust me this isn’t over protective
@@Katie_Woo I know how much they're worth but you're being stupidly protective of those games. What's wrong with people looking at them as long as you're sure they'll handle it properly?
@@PiroKUSS that’s my point I’m NOT sure they’d handle them properly so why take the chance?
Valkirie profile will always be my very first love when comes to RPG's
I still have my original copy!
I have to admit as a gamer I absolutely love this channel! Your spotlight on games is incredible. I’m constantly finding new games to add to my reproduction shelfs (I make them myself). You rock and please keep up the great videos!
Really glad you enjoy the videos, thanks for the kind words! Plenty more vids on the way 🙂
what do you mean you make them yourself. could you please elaborate
Valkyrie Profile and Suikoden 2 are amazing!! I found the latter at a pawn shop for
I think PAL Klonoa is probably quite rare too. I remember it took me a while to track down a copy back in the early 2000s (when PS1 games were still being sold in some shops). I loved it so much that I also bought the soundtrack. I have them both still kicking around somewhere.
It is very rare! I’m lucky to still have my copy which my dad bought for me in 1999. Klonoa 2 for PS2 was also great but it’s difficult to find around as well.
@@nelsonmartins2574 Cool! I never managed to track down the second game for PS2, though I had a demo of it that I played a lot. Shame Klonoa 2 isn't on Playstation Store.
I think these videos are great. Need 60fps though!
I have Darkstalkers 3 and Darkstalkers: Night Warriors from moving sale.
I played Tail Concerto, again and again. I never tired of this game. I also played Missventures of Tron Bonne.
Such a solid game!
To this day I still regret selling Klonoa, still own most of this list, Persona 2 should be in this list in my opinion
I gotta sell my entire soul for Eternal Punishment on the psx
I remember back in like 2015 or so, this really nice pawn shop owner sold me a copy of Koudelka for like $20 in great shape. But me being an idiot, decided to resell it at some point the same year...
Now i look up a copy on ebay and find that a complete one will easily run you $250
I been on a massive PS1 kick lately! Love your videos. Thanks for this!!
I too have been on a PS1 kick with my retropie. My PS1 kick got into high gear after I learned how to compress games into .chd format. Since then, I put 355 games so far on my 256 gigabyte SD card.
The only thing is that I can't get NBA live 98 through 2002 to work, all the Madden games have disappearing players and WWF in your house freezes after you pick a wrestler.
Tomba/i, Rapid Reload, Herc’s adventure, Jackie chan stuntmaster, Castlevania in the next video? Nice video als always
LSD is also high on the list of rare PS1 titles.
Nice job dude some gems in this and some i never herd of
I have The Misadventures Of Tron Bonne. Original along with MML2 Demo disc ( USA Release )
I got the three Syphon Filters discs, but these are Greatest Hits versions. But still i'm happy of what i got.
SF3 were the one of the most expensive PSX game ( the 9-11 version ? i never knew about that )
Oh, I actually have one. Valkyrie Profile was one of my favorites. I had a friend who really loved Suikoden 2 also.
Great video and list, some others I might have given an honorable mention would have been Einhander and Diablo.
About two weeks ago, I was in the midst of playing through Tales of Destiny again, but for some reason, I didn't feel the same way about it as I did back in 1998, so I sold it. It's not a difficult title (I beat it once before), but I felt that the areas late in the game needlessly dragged and the enemy encounters are too frequent. I sold it for $250 on eBay, before their crazy fees. I was surprised to see how expensive it got and how quickly it sold.
I bought Suikoden II when it first came out, but for some reason I sold it. I had Klonoa back in the late 90's and sold it some time later. I bought it again several years ago for only $30.
My most treasured PS1 games are Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Eternal Blue Complete, the latter of which has the trinkets still sealed. I love both games to death and I will not part with them.
Great video!.. thank youuuu
Thanks Fabio!
Very interesting list and good video! I'm lucky to have both Tales of Eternia and Clock Tower II in my collection.
If they weren't hard enough to find before, videos like this will only create higher demand for these. That's why I softmodded my PS2.
Yo ho ho
Obviously at this point these games are only for hardcore collectors. Usually games are cheapest late in the consoles lifespan thru the early years of the next gen console. PS1 rpgs always retained their value because the ps1 was backwards compatible and the ps1 is when Jrpgs gained a big following.
@@jngx80
I also like how many good games i found for ps1 that i missed.
Was thinking the same thing
Game collecting became expensive these days because of Corona. Games that used to be worth $5 are now sold for $30, it's ridiculous.
Of these I have Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden II, and Revolations Person. I really want Tails of Destiny 2, Tron Bonne, and Klonoa. One title I will mention that I thought was the Holy Grail of PS1 collecting is the Elemental Gearbolt Assassins Case set and game.
I have Elemental Gearbolt too such a great game I was never able to finish it
This just showed up on my suggestions, and you just got a new subscriber.
Thanks! I appreciate that 🙂
Great list, owning most of them. Really the rpgs on the ps1
Gunners heaven / rapid reload
Don't own it yet but seems rare and expensive
What makes suikoden Stand on its own is the duel mode, war mode, large number of recruitments, unite attacks
I bought Tail concerto when it originally got released. its a really fun game !!!
Great video!
Thanks!
That was awesome cheers mate - I clocked Klonoa when it came out but it wasn’t my copy I wish I had it knowing how much it’s worth today’s!
To this day I am still pissed at my parents for selling my video games when I was a kid....I had both Suikoden II AND Midaventures of Tron Bonne!! As well as Valkyrie Profile! I could have made major bank!
Shhhheeeeeiiiiiitttttttt bro that sucks
Where have you been all my life, thanks you so much.
Ahh Suikoden, my favorite JRPG that made me depressed for months only because i couldn't afford to buy a walthrough for the 108 warriors...
It depressed me because I only missed the full 108 ending by a single character.
Tales of Destiny II is actually Tales of Eternia the real Tales of Destiny 2 is on PS2 but sadly was never released outside of Japan.
Yooooo, Tail Concerto! I remember playing the untranslated demo on one of those seasonal Jampack Discs. Absolutely loved it. I swear though, those CyberConnect 2 games have a curse. Glad I got it years ago along with it's successor, Solatorobo.
guess I should've held onto Valkyrie Profile. About a decade ago when I finally sold it the price had been sitting at around $180. Still have Suikoden II though and it looks like the price of that has shot up some.
I also have Suikoden II. It is worth a lot of money.
I have Klonoa + Persona Revelations + Tales of Destiny 2 cib. So awesome that JoJo games influenced Persona Arena+ Persona Ultimas fighting games! 🤓
I have Tales of Destiny I & II, Valkyrie Profile (Lenneth was the PSP Remaster), Revelations Persona.
Other real good *rare* games that I own worth mentioning for the PS1 are Azure Dreams (Konami RPG), Ergheiz (Squaresoft Platform Fighter), Lunar Silver Story (Working Designs RPG also had a PSP remaster), Lunar 2 Blue Eternal (Working Designs RPG), Koudelka (RPG references a character from another unrelated game), Elemental Gearbolt (Squaresoft Light Gun RPG, Einhander (Squaresoft Sidescroller shooter), Countdown Vampires (Vampire themed Resident Evil).
@@jfvfhdbhc4046 you are correct. I mistakenly didnt fix that because i was trying to put some in order and neglected to reread the pub/dev on that one. It was published under Working Designs.
Valkyrie Profile is my all time favorite game.
Time to sell my Valkyrie Profile
Proud to say I own all of these except Tron Bon and Syphon Filter 9-11
Syphon Filter 3's release timing was really bad due to how the PS2 was blowing up back then. Good thing I was able to complete the trilogy except The Omega Strain in the PS2.
Good list, I have a few of these lying around! By the way, what was the music track you used when showing JoJo's Bizarre Adventure?
I sold half of these games last year! Was in a bind!
You might have sold them to me lol.
@@mattcraven8214 Wouldn’t doubt it! I sold my Valkyrie Profile, and Tales of Destiny 2 that were so mint!
@@mikesanders2057 I bought both of those games last year off of ebay lol
@@mattcraven8214 lmao!! I sold mine on Ebay! That be such a coincidence if I sold them to you.
Wow did not know this thanks i got doubles of every one! Time to put price tags on them lol!!!
Quality and gameplay that’s how addicting jrpg is.
Really? I find them boring as fuck.
Another good retro video !
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Siphon filter tazer is godly.
Man when I see Klonoa it reminds me so much of my childhood. One of the first games ever that made my cry, damn you you stupid ending!
good stuff!
Bought Tales of Destiny 2 about 2-3 years ago for 230$CAD ($180 USD) on ebay in perfect condition including the manual and shipping. Now it's hard to find it for under 350$CAD ($280 USD). It was a good deal, even at the time. If you can read Japanese, the Japan version is dirt cheap though.
You can buy many of these games digitally on the Playstation Store for less than $10. You may have to use a PS3, though. (Update: You only have a few months before online store closes.)
Can’t you use emulation? How many really still use a ps3 these days
@@williss1192 thats the legal way
That's because you never played JoJo as it was meant to be played - and I know what I'm talking since I luckily own it.
More than what was shown, it has one of the best story modes ever found on a fighter. What the story mode enables is a myriad of play styles (fighters, H-SHMUP, 2D-shooters, etc...),and the presence of locked bonuses like mini games, the full OST partitions, etc... that were the trend back then - especially because of the PocketStation.
Said mini games unlocked by an accumulative point system given at the end of the stage - with max points apoearing by REPLICATING, YES, REPLICATING key actions that happened in the manga.
Amazing, right? Now we can't even find that in current games...
As well purchasing ps1 games on a ps3 you can download most those games on to a ps vita if you have one. So pretty neat to play some ps1 games on the go
Or a psp/psvita
Tail Concerto... I remember playing a demo of it, but I don't remember what disc had it. There was a definite warning as it was untranslated at the demo point, but it was fun.
Probably Playstation Underground or Playstation Magazine.
all of those games look great
My most expensive game is probably tombi, absolutely love that game, so colourful, excellent gameplay. Gota love that pink haired guy 😁.
I'd like to try Clock Tower, but I own none of them lol.
Heard about that special edition of Syphon Filter 3, but never seen one in person. Luckily if ya wanna play the excellent Syphon Filter Trilogy? Their all available on PS3'S PSN and can be played on Vita too.
Man, I'd love to see a remaster or remake for the Syphon Filter Trilogy. The dev is still around too, Bend Studios. There's definitely room in the gaming world for Gabe Logan and Syphon Filter. Nothing like that now, especially the legendary taser lol.
Valkyrie Profile and Vagrant Story are two of the most underrated games on the PS1.
*XENOGEARS* has a robot that does *KAMAEHAMAHAS!*
You kill *GOD* at the end with your *GUNDAM!*
I have Suikoden II. Some others I have that are pricey now but weren't in this list (I Don't think) are: Diablo, Castlevania Symphony Of The Night Black Label, and Silent Hill. Latter of which has SKYROCKETED lately for whatever reason. No clue if I'll ever get any of these other ones, the prices piss me the hell off lmao
Most of them are available on the PS3/PSP/PS Vita store. You already know of the impending demise of these legacy stores.
Go grab 'em while you still can!
Oh.. I didn't know Syphon Filter 3 existed. Loved the first two soo much.
omg tails concerto. i played a demo of that game, except at the time, while it was an english demo, it was using a kind of japanese region lock, meaning when i load the game, it basically had to go through some big process to load up the game. daaaaamn i wish i gotten the full game.
I was lucky enough to pick up koudelka(after i discovered shadowhearts), tronbonne, suikoden 2, clock tower 2 and persona while they were cheap. I also spent 80 bucks to get both demi-kids (and felt like i was overspending) and never got around to opening them (GBA).
Those Demi-Kids must be very valuable if you haven't opened them yet.
Tail Concerto and Klonoa is my all time favorite! I really recommended if you want a new breath of fresh air. Really simple game and story. Tail Concerto specially fun even for younger age, especially with simple & fun character design, the mechanic also quite fun & simple, so I really recommended if you want to play it with your kids.
A guy I know asked if I would sell him suikoden 2 and offered me £100 for it...it's still my favourite game and was my favourite series til it died....
Needless to say...the games still in my drawer 😂
I own Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden II, Klonoa, Persona, and Tron Bonne. I think I've done pretty well.
I remember finding out that "non lethal" stun gun eventually lights them on fire and having all sorts of devious good fun.
Thanks😄
A few years ago I went to a yard sale in Lakewood CA, there was a box with a lot of good RPGs games, I Suikoden 2 was also there and just the case with manual for Brigandine, another rare and expensive game for PS1, and a lot more, final fantasy games, legend of dragoon, etc etc, I asked the Lady, How much for everything? And She told me, $5 DLS, I have never found anything like that again.
Proud to say I bought Tron Bonne from wal-mart in the summer of 2000 for $60 CAN
Klonoa is easily one of the best games in general on the console though
i know its janky but clock tower 2 is definitely worth playing if you like survival horror games!!! its difficulty and jankyness adds to the suspense and tension! also i reccomend the twilight syndrome series and Yuuyami Doori Tankentai they are japanese ps1 horror games that still manage to frighten you even though you wont be able to understand the text
I have most of these games but I started collecting these many years ago. One game I regret selling is Tales of Destiny 2. Some of these games have quadrupled in price just over the last 2-3 years.
Thankfully a bunch of these and other hard to find games can be bought and played digitally on ps3 and vita
My baby sitter was a huge gamer even 15 plus years ago.
I absolutely know for sure she played that rare platformer. Back then it was hard to find cool games. She had a magazine subscription and really early on was on chatrooms 🤣
Edit: WOW I own a game in this list!!! I have clocktower 2!!!
Jojos heritage to the future/bizzare adventure has got to be my favorite fighting game
Rarest ps1 games I have right now are Silent Hill and Rival Schools
Shouldnt have sold Valkyrie Profile, Suikoden II and Klonoa when I was younger :(
Lets hope one day Sony will bring most of these to ps4/ps5
Damn man, I used to own Jojo but I sold it when I got the Dreamcast version. I still have Klonoa and Tail Concerto but I'm not parting with those.
Had both Valkyrie Profile and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Wish I took good care of them.
Suikoden II is absolutely amazing in every way. It features betrayal, 108 companions with their own fleshed out storyline, great turn based combat, giant battles, and the best bar none antagonist ever seen in a game. Luca Blight makes Kefka and Sephiroth look like little kittens with how truly evil he is. Unlike Kefka (FFIII) who poisons a town, Blight likes to do his evil work up close and personal...now die pig! ;)
Addendum- Suikoden II is one of the games I held onto after getting it during the PSX's run and man did I dodge a bullet by doing this as its price to own is astronomical right now. Actually I kept most of my games from the 5th generation and why I have built up a huge collection. I was also a huge Saturn player and you better believe I held onto my really rare gems (Guardian Heroes, Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon Sega, and Dragon Force).
I still have suikoden 1-5 and Tactics. I also bought Xenogears and Star Ocean Second Story for $1 each at a yard sale a few years ago. Star Ocean surprisingly isn't that expensive to buy but Xeno goes for over $100.
Harmful Park is about 1000$ last time i checked.
tales of destiny 2 is on psp and its called by its original Japanese title tales of eternia, jp/eu/au only
That Cindy game gets expensive
What is the background music being played while showing Valkyrie profile
I'm familiar with pretty much all of these games, except the Syphon Filter 911 edition. That one was a surprise.
The first Persona game was amazing. I borrowed it from a friend for a time back around release... I wonder if he still has any of his old collection these days, dude had so many top tier titles on many platforms. Anyway, I played the shit out of it back then and got farther than he did, I think my team was in the high lvl 60s or so with some seriously OP personas, end game content. He was convinced I beat it and pissed off about it, but I never did back then.
Unfortunately these days I only have the P1+2 games for psp as well as the Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth port but not the originals. Even those PSP titles have climbed tremendously in value so I guess cool?
Edit: oh yeah, I forgot that I own Tales of Destiny 1. Another game I originally borrowed from that friend, also spent a ton of time playing and loved it. I forget I have it because it's disc only, no case/manual. That in itself is an arm and a leg if I want it.
I remember having a pirated copy of Tron Bonne that I bought in Malaysia and the gameplay was great. Wish I could've completed it but it was in Japanese. I'm trying to get a PS1 emulator up and going but it hasn't been functioning (the BIN files I've downloaded haven't worked for some reason).
I can just imagine all these game's become remastered and released on the Playstation 4.
I think my rarest is Konami's Soul of the samurai for Playstation an a few edios games like Akuji The Heartless and Ninja Shadow of Darkness
I have a physical copy of Valkirie Profile, but it's the Japanese version.
Have it on my playstation emulator
I have to disagree with Clock Tower 2, it's very good horror game! It's 11 endings are very well written. I got also every horror games on every playstations and glad to have them.
I wonder if there's a real count as to how many copies of Syphon Filter III with the original art are still out in the wild. I would be very curious, as a big fan of the original trilogy.
Let's see if I have any!
I have Klonoa disc only for some reason and Tail Concerto CIB :D
Thank God for emulation and backup copies 😃
Still got a mint suikoden 2
Bought Valkyrie Profile last year for about 300 bucks complete. Still need Suikoden 2.
@Charlie Webster I haven't played VP yet. I did play Suikoden 2 and thought it was amazing. I've had to scale back my pursuit of PS One games because...I figure a divorce would be more expensive. Lol
Me got ps1 and games too like resident evil 1 to 3 and diablo and others too xD
Great video I just wish you would have said the average prices for each game.
They're on the title pages, where it says CIB that's the price for "complete in box" so in the original case, with instructions or other included materials, and all discs.
A proud owner of the US copy of Klonoa myself
Such a great game!
I got a few of these games in various conditions, not worthy of the CIB $$. Always wanted Tail Concerto tho!
