Hi Kramer, if you put the bow, the one without the handle, on the inside, and cut the groove on the backside of the bow (on the one with the handle), then you would preserve the surface tension, and its capability to distribute the force. And the inside bow would serve and provide the stability/strenght from the groove, that you have cut from the backside of the front-bow.

If you try again, you will need to laminate the 4 limbs together which means custom jigs etc. And how would you ensure equal draw strength of each limbs? I certainly don't know. But kudos on the attempt.

I think it would be cool if, for the 150k subs, you could make a ballista?

So I have few ideas for this but possibly very difficult to execute.
The bow design/shape would probably only work for this type of application or a strange crossbow. Double if not triple the width of the bows and cut/drill a hollow in the center of where your handle section normally is or where the strings will cross, and possibly consider merging the two bows before the tiller or starting with a much wider board and cutting a V between what would be the upper and lower sets of limbs so that you have a much stronger belly on the bow, granted you would probably only be able to accommodate a 15-30⁰ angle between them.
Honestly it may be easier to achieve the over all look or concept by taking two of same takedown bows and building/designing a new handle section in an X shape from a single or laminated piece of wood.

Take the family out for a really nice supper! Best way to blow some time and money.

I don't think that the plan to build two separate bows, then somehow join them at the axis point will ever work because the joint would have too much inherent weakness. Perhaps if you designed it with criss-cross overlapping alternating layers, building a 4 limbed bow from the start, rather than trying to scab together some kind of hybrid? I would also suggest making the upper two limbs a bit longer so that the arrow shelf/v ends up in the mathematical centre.

You should try to shoot modified fireworks with a bow, that's a great way to celebrate your subscribers

Dude, them editing skillz though. Love your series, keep it up. Been doing my own "will it bow" here on this end of the world, so far I'm 1/3 in functional projects, hahaha.

Maybe make an ultra fancy but completely functional fantasy bow like you would see in LOTR or something. You could sell it, auction it, or gift it to one of the subscribers.

Dude, I would love to see you build a Penobscot bow. And, condolences to your four limbed bow.

A bow with a tuning peg at one end so it can be strung and string tension can be adjusted.
