We’ve been chasing people most of our lives until we hit a certain age and realize people you chased were horrible reflecting back. Nothing wrong with dining alone or going to the cinema alone. I don’t understand why some people are embarrassed to do things alone.
I’m gonna listen to this everyday until I GET IT. I’m so lonely. It sucks. I’ve been chasing people trying to find friendship. It’s not working and I’m even more miserable. I need to be ok being alone.
I've had this problem forever. I'm talking about family and friends, colleagues etc...One thing I have found that helps is asking myself what do I want? I have made a list of 3 things that i want to work on. If i stick to this not only will the attention go from them to me but they will also be jealous and probably want me back in their life. Upgrade and do better...it always works. Change your look, get fit, ignore people, be positive smile but say the least. Create mystery and show them you're not that one anymore. Whatever you do don't go back because you will show them that in the end they have power over you. People who give breadcrumbs love the control. They know they're no good for you but they want to control you, keep you there 'just in case...Just in case someone flakes, just in case they get bored, just incase that person isn't available. Now you're not available. Make new acquaintances by joining a group or a new hobby, volunteer if you have to. Don't go back because you will only live to regret it later.. [Edit 1 month later...] Just wanted to pop back and say one month later and here i am again, in the same boat. Feeling undervalued and unappreciated and so it's funny looking back on this advice I've given so freely to others yet i have found myself feeling frustrated and rejected again. But here's why I'm editing this..is because this is life. We will go back and make many many mistakes and find ourselves feeling worthless asking ourselves " Why am i putting up with th is BS again?" I feel gross,embarrassed and undervalued by the same people that have done this to me for many years. So what do i do? Accept the poor treatment and being ignored and accept this as my reality. I'le accept this as reality for the past but going forward i refuse to accept this anymore. Yes I feel horrible and ashamed for allowing myself to be treated this way but maybe this had to happen again for the 20th time for me to finally realise that they are not going to change! Keep it moving because it's a difficult journey but we have no option than to openly accept the mistakes that we make, forgive ourselves and move on! Good luck to anyone who is in this boat. Looking for someone to admire you back will only give you heartache the best thing you can do is to focus on you and only you. Stop looking for someone to care. Learn to be alone and accept your own company and stop worrying about others. Cause your journey is not about them. Its about you. Stop looking for acceptance or approval. If they want to go let them go. Dont stop them. Just keep moving foward and dont look back. People come and go like the seasons. Nothing is permanent and everything changes. You learn to live with those changes or you can keep going on a rabbit chase. You'll still be a hungry wolf. Point is they already moved on and you havent.

Not everything is romantic relationship, your relationship with yourself is what matters. Chasing isn’t good and trying to be in relationship when you have a lot of self work it’s better to be single. I’ve never chased a guy but I have been in long term relationships since I was 19 . You get to a point where , your time is running out, and you realize what you need more time with is yourself. For me I was in these relationships I was looking for love. When I started giving myself love suddenly you don’t need these people. Relationships don’t have to be romantic. A lot of most interesting people I know are single.
You are exactly right brother. I pulled the plug on my narcissist in May. I much enjoy eating a good steak by myself listening to jazz than sitting across from that emotional, entitled, controlling witch. Even if she is a cute blonde. I’m done and happy now.

In the past, I have chased friendships, because I thought that's what friends do, but it seemed to be one sided... I don't chase anymore because they don't actually care about me, my life or my feelings...I do what I want to do now, I chase my own dreams not friends...yes I talk to people but no chasing. I'm happy doing my own thing now...I know alot of people who never seem to be content being themselves, and don't seem to want to spend their time at home...they have to be out all the time... I'm happy being at home, and I do have a few healthy friendships with no dramas and no bs... I really cant be with people who gossip and go on about their petty problems... I have standards and boundaries.. there are so many that actually don't care about us. So we need to wake up and move on... be happy living your life...
I have 5 rules when it comes to attracting healthy friendships: 1. Don't FOLLOW. Leave that for puppies. 2. Don't ATTACH. Co-dependency does not work. 3. Don't CHASE. Or you will attract unhealthy people. 4. Don't TRY. I never try to get someone to "like" me. 5. Don't SUBMIT. Unless you want to lose your true identity.

I don't chase my boyfriend when we get into it. I did the No Contact rule and blocked him when we broke up and he came back to me by doing that. He told me that he went through anxiety without me. He also apolagised which he has never done before.
