Shouldn't it have been fitted the other way around so that the strain on it would be less if driving with it open?
In effect creating a vacuum, drawing any cooking etc. air out when you drive?

Hey Paul, yes it should, I basically f**ked up on this install. It has shown no movement while driving. However it works perfectly and when it's on to draw air out and in, depending on the fan orientation. I have a MK Vison Pro installed which needs to be open to create a decent air flow.

@@garyscampervanconversion9916 Other things I've noticed on people's builds. Surely roof felt would be fine for sound-deadening panels. It's bituminised sheet about quarter the price of 'official' mats and packing bubble wrap would do for insulation, just because it's silver colored ain't going to make a bit of difference. Heck, use normal bubble wrap then some of that 99p gold survival blanket sheet for a
      luxury effect. :D

Hi thanks for sharing are u still happy with it.? My concern is if it could stay opened just a bit on wet days to keep it venting but without worries about it being opened by the wind or by a "non friendly " hand.
Could it be closed by the wind?
Does the system feel reilable over time?
I like the system that dometic heki has, just 3 positions. And the one that could be locked, leaves just a small gap to let the air in but not the rain even on windy days. But the 1 layer wall exterior frame seems a lot weaker and flimsy...
I prefer MPK Visionstar design because of the double wall in the frame , it seems stronger and could be better insulated filling that chamber in the frame with foam. But this is just my idea , i havent seen in person. HAVING DUBTS ABOUT THE OPENING/CLOSING SYSTEM...
    I tried my best explaining.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Hey, the MK is still working perfectly. You don't seem to be able to open it from above, even though I installed it round the wrong away, it doesn't move while in transit. No leaks to report thus far :)

@@garyscampervanconversion9916 Thank you! Sorry, but i still dont get it...
So it automatically locks in the position you leave it? Could be left open a little like a couple of cm, but it doesn't allow the rain to enter through the sides if there is some wind? NOT completely closed, like leaving it ajar, here, the joint is not closed, but the transparent plastic of the dome covers a little more than where the frame reaches. Air circulates under the dome, but no water can enter. This is very important to me and I can't find this information.
Another question, does it vibrate too much when fully opened with the wind?
Does it sound too much? Any noise or it stays firmly?
I mean while mot driving, just venting.
I hope I have explained myself, thanks again for the help!
