@@patriciacarlinsky2511 Do you know if he repented of his sins? He got down on his knees and prayed often and prayed several times a day. Elvis was saved at age 9. God does not discern which sin is worse so by you judingmg Elvis you are sinning. The Bible says judge not or ye be judged. Elvis lived a pious life. I bet he lived closer to God than you are. He had the entire Bible memorized. zi bet you have not memorized three chapters. He would not be able to sing those gospel songs and clearly make a connection to Heaven if he were not close to God. So I bet you never told a white lie or felt jealousy or anyhing else that is a sin. Ever heard about casting stones and living in glass houses. That fits you. Stop judging. That is God's job.

@@patriciacarlinsky2511 I have you know he got on bended knees daily. He read the Bible so much that he had it memorized. How many Bible chapters have you memorized? You are no Christian. The Bible says, "judge not that ye be not judged". How often do you get on bended knees? By the way, did you know all Christians commit sins?. A white lie is a sin. Ever told a white lie? So called perfect people who sit in judgment of others, without knowing their hearts, make me ashamed that you claim to be a Christian. I would love to read a book written by others who do not like you. I bet you do not come off as well as Elvis,.

Elvis never liked being called the king, even though he was widely known as the king of rock. Whenever he would be ask about it he would simply state "There is only one King" and point to the sky. One of his best Gospel songs is a little known song called If That Isn't Love, give it a listen.

To Me ..... Elvis won every Grammy there was ..... And stood on every top spot to land on ..... As you should know by now ..... There was and is ..... LOTS of jealous people in the world and music is no exception ..... And when it comes to Elvis ..... People in control of the money ..... Don't like being told who's who ..... If you know what I mean ..... So I don't care about who said Elvis won this or that ..... In my Heart ..... Mind .....And Soul ..... He won it all ..... Why before ANYONE else even showed up to play ..... Get It ..... There is lots of great singers ...... But only one G.O.A.T ..... When Elvis sings a song ..... By God ..... That song was sung ..... PERIOD ..... You can claim others his equal or better ..... But every time the dust settles ..... Elvis is still king ..... really that is all there is to say is ..... Elvis is Elvis ..... And will never be equaled .....God said ..... And that son ..... That is something ..... Man cannot change ..... Big N .....

I am glad to hear you as a generation that did not experience Elvis back in the day and really like it - however, here is what I would like to hear you say (but ONLY) if you actually mean it: I would like to hear you say: Mannn, I have to say that I think Elvis is probably the best singer that I have ever heard... MANY people have NO idea because they never heard past a few old and most played songs of the 50's like Hound Dog etc... They think that was only what Elvis was - and as you both know by now - he was MUCH more than that.

Can't stress this enough! Since Elvis was such an extreme live performer, much of his best stuff was recorded on spot, with only extra strings and voices and such added later.
This recording is just Elvis's voice on a modern boring background. His interaction (much of which you can't see) with the band is so pivotal to get that Elvis feel of the song.

This song originated as part of the score of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical "Carousel". It has been adopted over the years as a Gospel favorite, as the song comedian Jerry Lewis sang to close his annual Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy, and by soccer fans in the UK who latched on to a pop version made popular by Gerry and the Pacemakers. But the song originated in the Broadway musical "Carousel".

I was friends with Charlie Hodge his confidant and best friend for 8years after Elvis died n he told me many great stories about Elvis over the years. He told me Elvis was always very nervous before going on stage so he would have all the guys sing a gospel song to relax him before going on stage. And he did read the Bible everyday and sang gospel music sometimes all night long.Charlie said. Elvis memorized the Bible n would have the guys n friends discuss the word of God. He would have someone turn a page in the Bible n start reading n Elvis would start reciting the next several verses word for word ( a friend of his that became a nun)said this years after Elvis died. He loved Jesus

    Listen to his voice.
It's soul depth and diversity personified.
Others are saying that tom jones was a better singer?
    LMFAO
I love tom and have heard everything from Tom.
But elvis's voice is light years above Tom's.
This song displays the power and depth of the king.
And this is just one example. There are hundreds more.

All of his gospel. Seriously. Listen to His Hand in Mine, 1960. Boys and girls, it was seriously his best period, vocally. Chilling. Milky White Way. I'm Gonna Walk. Working On a Building. Give it a listen. You won't regret it.

As a boy, he grew up singing in his church’s gospel choir in Tupelo, MS. Elvis Fun Fact: he was a natural blonde w/blue eyes vs his signature black hair.😂
His early songs may seem short but technology in the 50s-early 60s wasn’t today’s technology & per radio rules, artists’ songs could only be 3mins or less to get played by radio stations. Tech.side those initial 78rpm & 45rpm phonograph records, 3mins then 3-4 & 3-5mins of a song, was the most that could be etched on them. So most artists kept their songs at or under 3mins to get radio play time & 3mins was enough to make a hit for the best artists at the time.
*I only know the record stuff bcuz I was curious why many songs seem to end too soon, from back then and thought I’d share.🙃

🎼🎙🎸 Since Elvis Presley's death on August 16, 1977, I've been a loyal but sometimes critical Elvis Presley fan! When Elvis Presley died in 1977 at the age of only 42, I was only 12 years old and had known little about Elvis Presley before! I currently own over 550 Elvis Presley CDs / records and a total of over 700 different Elvis Presley items (e.g. films, shows, characters, bocks etc.)! I will continue to be an Elvis Presley fan, but occasionally I also listen to music from other singers and music groups! 🎼🎙🎸

I know you're on an Elvis journey of discovery and all, and I can respect that. But check out Jackie Wilson's "You Will Never Walk Alone." He and Elvis were friends.

The problem with the internet is there's so much bullshit and false information out there
THEN YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN to the VOICE.
And suddenly all the bullshit you've heard, goes bye bye
This song is a prime example of one of the greatest voices in music.
