Let’s be real here, I see this happen all the time with all kinds relationships. You can have a toxic relationship with a friend too. Trust me, we all have.
Yeah, I remember when I had to ditch a toxic friend back in adult education. I only just had my autism diagnosis (I had it for only a few months at the time), and I swear. She pretended like it wasn't even there, then blame me for not acting perfectly neurotypical. I mean, I'm high functioning and all, but damn. And boy, you should've heard how she talked to me if I made the slightest mistake around her. This stung even more in hindsight, since I didn't even make a big deal out of her identifying as non-binary and being preferred to be called by her username instead of her real name. I wasn't perfect at it, but I did try and I was improving. Didn't out her to anyone, even defended her when another friend called the name she wanted to be called ridiculous . But she couldn't even halfway show the same basic respect about me being autistic.
I kept my mom updated about everything, and she was starting th\o see the pattern where I wasn't. Eventually, I agreed that this wasn't healthy for me. She advised me to break off the friendship, and after some thinking? I agreed I should. When it came time to follow through with that plan, my mom told me to do it via Skype for my safety. Talking face to face about it in private simply wasn't safe for my mental health. I'm a long-time emotional abuse survivor, I was 21 and had outlasted a grand total of 7 abusers by that point. Long story short, it went on for me since elementary school. No real PTSD symptoms, but definitely some trauma. Since I was already bogged down by her being toxic, I just couldn't summon the same resilience as when I'd face down worse than her. With the daily madness added to het BS, I just didn't have the energy. After all, this could get ugly from my toxic friend's end, with no bystander eyes on it. Yeah, I agreed with my mom that the risk of doing this at school was too great, Skype it was. After a few minutes, my mom flat-out had to get behind the keyboard and type on my behalf because the social context was just too underhanded for me to handle thanks to the autism. And that all was just for her to leave me alone at school. I never read what my mom typed. I just blocker her to be safe, and got offline.
Long story short, she vagueposted about it seconds later, and my mom vagueposted back at her on her own account. Everyone in the comments knew exactly what was going on, and they were already asking which poor sod had messed with me. Toxic friend called my house in absolute fear, because she had heard stories about how my mom could be if she caught as much as a whiff of mistreatment of me. She usually called me on my cell number, but had my house number. My mom picked up the phone, walked to the balcony so I couldn't hear from the floor of the house I was on, and answered. Never did hear what she said to that girl. But whatever she did, it worked. Toxic friend never bothered me again. Heck, she never dared come anywhere near me to confront me.
She had talked mad shit behind my back, though. Made me out to be the bad guy and herself as the victim, you know the schtick. Luckily, my friends still came to me for my side of the story after hearing hers. I, of course, told my part of the story with as much brutal autistic honesty as this comment. I knew what kind of game she was playing, and I wasn't about to be player 2 here. Most of my friends agreed that what she did when nobody was looking was not cool. They were sad to hear what happened, but they thought that what I did in response made a lot of sense in context. They forgave me without a twinge of doubt, but the whole thing ripped the friend group apart.

@@squirrelsaid327 I'm not sure if I can help a lot, as I haven't had problems with toxic relationships, but I can offer some tips if you want, based on what I've heard from friends who had to deal with some unhealthy relationships:
If possible, ask for help or support from friends or family about this toxic situation, or even just talk about it; it might not feel easy sometimes, but know that those people you want to talk to love you and they'll do their best to support you through your decisions in the matter.
If haven't already of course, you could try talking to this toxic person about the issues in your relationship; sometimes (not always, mind you) there could be a misunderstanding on their part and they were unaware you weren't feeling ok with how things were. If they seem to understand what you say and care about trying to fix things, you can give them another chance at bettering themselves, but only if you feel comfortable enough to do it. If the second chance doesn't work, or after the covnversation they just treat you badly for pointing those things out, gaslight you or ignore you, then I'd suggest cutting them off for the sake of your health.
Cutting off is not an easy process, and I'm very sorry, but I don't know good ways on how to do it so you doesn't feel too uncomfortable, but you could try looking it up more on the Internet, or again, ask someone you know; asking for moral support from others around you might help lighten up the fear this decision might bring on you, or if you're scared, I understand cutting off a person takes a lot.
My apologies if it's not much, but I hope it gives some help! Ah, note I'm referring to a "romantic" relationship or a "friend" one.

The first time I saw this video, I was in a relationship that was quickly turning unhealthy, but I ignored everything that told me to get out because I thought that was the best that the world would have to offer me. He had to be the one to break it off. A little over a year later, he's been married to someone else for eight months, and I'll be celebrating six months with my boyfriend in six days. I've been single ever since, and I have no plans to get back into the dating pool until I can put roots down somewhere and figure myself out a bit more. I know a lot of people may not appreciate the Trump dig, but if you look at it a different way, it's an important point: it's probably unwise to be a in a relationship with someone whose views, morals, and beliefs differ drastically from yours. It can seriously affect how you handle important life situations (including raising kids down the road if you see that as a possibility), so I personally think being with someone who has similar values to you is important.

On the other hand, breaking up with someone you no longer love sucks because at one point you did love them and you had good timestogether. I've never been in a romantic or sexual relationship, but I found I could still relate to this video in a lot of ways-those red flags apply to platonic relationships, too, I believe. Breakups can be very hard between friends as well; but if they aren't treating you well, you shouldn't hesitate to cut them out of your life the same way you would a bad significant other. Just thought I'd throw that out there-there's definitely something for us single folk to take away from this video, too :)
I disagree. Friendship is a feeling, for me-it's not an obligation. I love those that I consider friends very dearly. However, as far as I'm concerned, if you would break up with a romantic partner for the same things your friend is doing to you, you should drop them just as you would said romantic partner. In both cases, you don't owe them a second chance-if they treat you horribly, and you feel unfulfilled, you're wasting both your time and theirs. I understand your perspective for things like spats and small fights, where a lack of communication is the main issue and you would otherwise like to continue being with that person-but not for the things that have the potential to genuinely damage a person, and not for the things that make a person feel like they have to put on a happy face or stop being genuine simply to avoid the messy valediction. Friendship and romantic relationships are not contracts-you can and should opt out of them anytime you need to, for whatever reason you feel the need to do so. Obviously, you should make sure you won't regret your choice before you do so-introspection is seldom a bad thing-but I don't think it's wrong to put yourself first. Loyalty, I believe, should always come second to looking after yourself. There are more than 7 billion people on this planet-I don't think it makes much sense to cling to the ones that hurt you. You could both be spending the time you would be miserable together with someone else that makes you feel genuinely happy and valued.

My friend decided to cut me off because I got into an argument with his girlfriend and even though this had nothing to do with him he would still step in to defend his girlfriend's action when she threatened to send me to the emergency room. And I told him that I do wanna keep being a friend with him but I just don't get along with his girlfriend, so as things seemed calm for 2 weeks I get a text message from my friend that he doesn't want to be my friend because I apparently "hate" and "despise" his girlfriend. So I am like super confused where he got those thoughts since I have not interacted with his girlfriend for 2 weeks since the the argument nor have I said anything to him nor given his girlfriend a single thought since I focused on my own life. I just send him a text saying that it was fine and haven't seen either of them since.

It's in the context of the previous "red flag" Dom was talking about. This Steve person more than likely pressured one girl into doing things she wasn't ready to do. Heres my theory and it might be a long one so here we go
Steve was first mentioned in Doms crushes video and appeared to be with dom when he was in middle school which may explain some of the instances that have occurred. Steve who we all know gets bagged on because hes always alone but he might not have been, he could have been a stalker. Let me explain
Remember how i said that Steve was always bagged on because hes always alone in the crushes but maybe Steve was with someone and in this video Dom says "Fuck you Steve" when he explains being pressured sexually which might mean that Steve is homosexual. In middle school he might have been in a heterosexual relationship but saw Dom as a better option. He started as his friend while keeping the other relationship together. This is where the he started to pressure him sexually maybe at a gathering with dom. Maybe Steves girlfriend who he was cheating on found out about this and decided to break up the relationship. He then might have started to stalk dom and through an unknown event possibly a find on social media that he was being stalked. This is where Steve might have become a loner because Dom revealed the information about being stalked and more importantly how it was a homosexual stalker. (keep in mind homosexuality was a crime in Doms day) People would stop seeing steve and he would become a loner that would be abandoned once St. marcelinus (i hope i spelled that right) happened.
Stalking can occur during this period in school trust me i know i have been through it for 10 years now and just barely escaped so i hope this helped on shedding some light on things
