Anoyone else think this was undermarked? I feel like sometimes what the judges say doesn't always match up with the score they give the couples, perhaps that just because they may not have enough time to get in to all the details though.
it seems alot of ppl thought it was undermarked, i saw the comments on twitter and instagram

Joshua sometimes it’s more based on the dance. The samba is probably the hardest dance on the show and to do that well so early is insane but it was still far from a perfect samba ygm

Yes! One reason I don't like Movie Night. Always some poor eejit who has to dress up in a shapeless carpet. Must have been roasting and even Amy's moves were hidden. And too many Kong Fu moves. Focus more on the dance maybe
@Gold Rose Loved him. Lucky the dancers who just got body paint or normal costumes. Costumes shouldn't interfere with the dance.

The costume, song, etc let him down. Producers really need to work on this. It's harder to see his hip-action and samba bounce. His Samba walks (just like his Cha Cha walks) are exceptional. Amy's choreo is also low-key brilliant. 7.5 from me. Can we also appreciate Amy's spins at 0:40 too!?
Edit: On reflection, I would actually give this a 9. If Kevin's was an 8 then this was higher. His bounce was there, in the Botafogos he was actually doing something with his hands and again his Samba Walks are exceptional. He is also dancing on the balls of his feet, check 1:00 onwards

Think this dance was the most underrated dance of the night because i thought Karim was pretty good. He can move and I liked all of his own acrobatic moves that were in it❤️
Im so annoyed this was defintely undermarked. The costumes were too distracting and the music choice wasnt great
Bloody amazing he was fantastic. Did not agree with the judges. Blew me away. Great natural dancer.. deserved higher score.

This was definitely undermarked. Sure, not his best performance but it was worth more than a 6. Especially when you see some of the other dances that got 6s and 5s. Hoping he won’t get knocked out like Aston did in one of the previous series as he really reminds me of him. Really hoping this doesn’t knock his confidence in himself too.
I was blown away by his abilities. The combination of Kongu-Fu moves and samba steps was sensational. Great costumes and fantastic musicality. However, when it comes down to the actual samba he did, I felt like watching two different sambas, because most of his samba steps were superb (like the corta-jacka, the botofogo and the stationary samba walk) - he really mastered the hip action, he kept one leg straight and one bent as needed and it was amazing to see, but some of the samba steps were, technically, pretty weak (like his voltas and his batucadas). I could have been an extraordinary dance if he could maintained the same level of technique during the whole dance. A 7.
So undermarked! He is my favourite by far.

hi no saffron had an incredible improvement and had really good choreography
Really didn’t think saffron’s was the best this week, this had so much energy and the hip movement would’ve looked so much better if it wasn’t for the stupid costume. I found saffron’s very trippy and tense rather than Spanish and powerful

Watching this back for the first time and can't believe the scores.. he deserved straight 8s at least. Love this dance.
Completely undermarked! His costume didn't exactly do him any favours but come on, that performance was definitely not a 6.
Think the downfall here was costume, very blocking didn't really show his movement very well. Also although I *love* Karim had to agree the floatyness of the samba wasn't entirely there but 6s a bit too low imo

Even though this is completely undermmarked, I do know that Karim will definitely bounce back and give an amazing performance next week just like Kelvin did, because he's so hard working and talented!

Feel like he’s outshining Amy lol. And also think the judges were only harsh on him cause people been slating him for being experienced and Amy had to defend him. Still, entertaining though and he is clearly very talented.

You can see his dancing is great despite the costume, I think the judges were wrong - "You were too enthusiastic, so we'll mark you down." He was better than several couples that still got marked higher.

I loved this performance and A+ to Karim for his energy isolation dance and excellent stamina! The boy can clearly bloody dance! I felt at times the bloody costume looked heavy and weighed down his performance!! Having said thymat he is excellent and exceptional keep it up 👍🏽 7️⃣🕺!!! 🐼
I absolutely loved this dance!! It's so clear they have worked so hard this week in training and this was an expertly chreographed routine (well done Amy). They got 26/40 and were mainly criticised for Karim having too much energy in his bounce action which made apparently made it look unnatural. In my opinion they were undermarked, expecially when you consider the marks that some others got! I am hoping they get enough support from the public to be through to next weeks show! This partnership has so much potential and I am excited to see what more they have to give!

Definitely not his best dance, but hey, it is a Samba. Very hard for a non dancer boy, I cut him some slack. I am just happy to see Amy as Tigeress! Something I never knew I needed in my life!

They are so cute!! Lol. Felt this was way undermarked though! When you compare that they have been given 6s and 7s for this dance to others that got 6s and 7s for their dances; his quality is still SO much better than those others. I can see what they're saying about the bounce and that he attacked it too much, but still, undermarked!

Karim don’t let this dance knock your confidence.
Very competent performance and appropriate for this week. However this and a handful of other dances had this problem of the theme diverting from proper dance technique.
The content and hips are there. Mind u hard to notice with a baggy panda costume.
I think fluidity will be Karims problem hence the dance felt too staccato but I feel he’s professional enough to fix that

People who are calling him 'fake' and 'plastic' need to realize that as a children's show presenter, he just expresses his bubbly personality in his own way, and some people can be naturally cheerful and sincere and animated without putting up an act.

Damn, first they got the worst song for Samba! Then those costumes did not do them any favor. Well from here they can only grow stronger and we know they can!
Fun and joyous and was packed with content however not all of it samba content, I wanted more more more. There is no doubting that he is a brilliant dancer and excels when he is by himself but all the parts he did by himself were closer to hip-hop than samba for me. I still really loved this dance and do think that it was undermarked. 7/10
(Also I really don’t think Amy gets enough credit as a pro every week she gives it her all, choreographers routines to show off her pros skills perfectly e.g Danny - Tap, Karim - Hip hop and somehow still manages to include steps to fit the dances theme aswell. Plus she’s the only person I’ve ever seen look absolutely stunning in a furry tiger onesie. A true star)
Another favourite film of my daughters! We used to try practice zen like kungfu discipline when we were stressed out!
I think Karim lambert Stewart Jasmine hopefully will keep her calm this week because after dev and dianne’s dance it might just stress her out a bit!

No matter how many times I love this routine, I can't deny the Fact there could of been maybe more Samba rather than flips and tricks the whole time and I'm going agree with bruno and say he put too much energy into it, and It sort of lost it's feel! But AMAZING Dancer and Loved the Song and Movie Choice! And those costumes and make up were amazingly done! 8
There was plenty of Samba basic in there.
I saw stationary walks, botafogos, voltas, promenade runs, rolls in shadow, decent attempt at batucadas, whisks.

I have watched the dances again and Karim and Amy were definitely undermarked, while Kelvin and Oti were overmarked.
Bulky costumes never help, and camera work is sometimes infuriating, but still I thought he had very solid basic samba steps, not to mention fabulous tricks, while Kelvin's dance was barely a charleston (about 4 bars of charleston steps and the rest was just contemporary).
Agree. I think maybe also Dev was overmarked - it wasn't perfectly clean, same with Kelvin who didn't have great swivel :)
Before I write anything about dance, I think Karim looked supercute in this costume but then It didn't do any favors to him unfortunately.
I think he did fairly good Samba except I didn't get to see much bounce (or probably because the costume hid it) and it looked quite staccato at places. Reminds me of Claudia and AJ's Samba. Anyway, it was a feel good routine and could have been scored better. I think judges are trying to benchmark him against his own standards, which are too high already. I trust these two will be back with a bang next week.

A bit harshly marked, but probably not a bad thing for Karim as he can show "improvement" next week now! I find it hard to keep my eyes of Amy in this routine, even under that bizarre outfit her movement is spectacular!

I feel that for what it was. Yes it wasn't so much of a Samba as perhaps it should have been, Don't think the comments aligned with the scores but It's positive, It was a fun dance to watch and one people should get behind. All that being said though, if we judge this as a positive point moving forward the potential is clearly there. They should be safe and hopefully whatever dance they do next week gives him a chance to showcase the glimpses that are seen here that Karim has the potential to be an amazing dancer.
Definitely ones to keep an eye out for. I would like to think.

totally agree with people's comments here. not ten worthy, no, but to say his solo work and isolation is excellent but then give him a 6??? so unfair. i thought the costume was adorable tbh but it did hide some moves. i loved the choreo though, the kung fu/samba mix worked so well, and he had the bounce, the hips, and that samba roll!!! when did we last see a samba roll omg bless you amy. he's so good, still such a favourite.
