      I'm glad you got a good one. The X8 Pro is an awesome platform if it functions correctly. The problem is, instead of taking the loss and scrapping a batch of defective X8 Pro drones, Fimi knowingly sold them. There's no coming back from that as far as I'm concerned.

    When I ordered my X8 SE 2020 it arrived soaking wet like they drug it behind the boat from China. The box was so wet it was deformed and there was black mold growing in the box and on the drone. I was NOT happy. I contacted FIMI and they actually did reply. I took a video and sent it to them and they surprisingly ended up refunding my money(this took weeks, but I stuck with it). The great part was I did not have to send the drone back. Well here is the good part. The X8 SE actually has a IP rating that makes it 'rainproof'. I was able to clean it with alcohol, put it under a uv lamp to kill all the mold and I can still fly it to this day. Only now I have to stick a RID module to it to be in compliance. I hope they finally help you out. At least they finally got the horizon issue fixed in the newer models. My 2018 and 2020 both had issues with a crooked horizon. Pretty much all of them did then. It was kind a running joke for a while. Good Luck!

      @1EyeInTheSky I'm glad you got your money back. I've only read one other comment in numerous forums and social media platforms that reported a positive experience with FIMI customer service that couldn't be fixed online or by phone. In contrast, there are thousands of negative reviews and comments on Fimi customer service in regards to any warranty claim of any sort.

    I was considering giving FIMI another chance when I found out about an early version of the X8 Tele Pro. However instead of making it compatible with the existing 15km X8 Pro communication protocol (Roclink 3) they decided to go with the less capable, 9km SoLink 2 system that they use in their Mini UAVs. This means no built in screen controller is available for the X8 Tele Pro and it's not compatible with my TX10A Remote Controller. Someone commented that an update made the TX10A work with the X8 Tele Pro. However in an email directly from FIMI I was told the TX10A WAS NOT compatible with either X8 Tele drone. So that's it at least for now. If FIMI doesn't get serious about it's quality control and warranty customer service they will never be able to compete with DJI, Autel, etc.

    I mistakenly stated that the X8 2022 SE V2 used Fimi's Roklink 2.0 and that the X8 Pro used Fimi's Roklink 3.0 transmission system. The X8 2022 SE V2 uses Roklink 3.0 and the X8 Pro uses Roklink 4.0. There are just names. I did state the correct maximum transmission range. Up to 10km for the X8 1022 SE V2 and 15km for the X8 Pro. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

      I'm from germany and did it in the year 2020 with the 2020 model. Image was washed out from day one like it was out of focus. Once they accepted to send it back, I packed it up, sent it (cost me 40 Euros) to China. They told me to show the post office receipt. I did and the following day (my package to china was on its way for 2 days at this time), a new drone was on its way to me, arrived 2 weeks later. I got to keep the old battery and of course the new drone had a battery installed. So now i had a new drone (this time the camera was ok) + a free battery. Can't complain about the warranty service!!! By the way the drone now has about 1400km of flying distance on its shoulders and the gimbal motors start to fail more and more. A gust of wind and the image gets tilted 45 degrees and stays like that until restart. That's ok because I'd consider the camera quality outdated anyway, especially if you compare with the X8 pro. I hope i could help.

      @wavez177 I really like my X8 Pro and TX10A. I believe Fimi makes good products overall but I think they rushed the X8 Pro to market before getting all of the issues resolved. I'm in the process of making a comparison video of my X8 Pro and my Air 3. Same day and time, same scene. I know it's not really a fair comparison but it is a real world comparison. The X8 Pro does quite well considering the Air 3 cost more than twice as much as the X8 Pro.

    Please note that the FIMI TX10, TX10A, the FIMI X8 SE 2022 V2, and the FIMI X8 PRO are all out of compliance. They claim that it has and support REMOTE ID but it doesn't. As we know Federal Law requires that UAV pilots must have this Feature. However, FIMI drones are not recognized by the FAA, nor are you able to register the drone in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA as having REMOTE ID. Please don't get caught flying this heavy drone without registration. This can cost you anywhere from $1000.00 to $100,000.00 fine or time in jail depending on the nature of your violation. Fimi has lied to us all. This is extremely disappointing. Total dishonesty and false advertising.
    You can buy and fly at your own risk.

    • @brutalwarpig
      @brutalwarpig  Před 4 měsíci +1

      That's basically my advice to anyone who asks me if they should buy a FIMI UAV. I would definitely not buy any newly released FIMI products. FIMI clearly rushed the X8 Pro to market while it was still very much in it's "beta" phase of development. My X8 Pro has been rather problematic. However, my X8 2022SE V2 has worked flawlessly the entire time I've owned it. Remote ID issues aside, They seem to have basically worked out all the issues with their more established platforms. Like you, I too am more than a little pissed at the outright lies regarding remote ID compliance. I actually suspect that FIMI hasn't even applied for a Declaration of Compliance. I say this because in their flight app, there is an on/off switch for turning the RID on or off whenever you want. One of the first RID requirements for an UAV to be approved for FAA RID compliance is that the RID system must be programmed so that the RID system broadcasts anytime the drone leaves the ground and there must not be any means to easily disable or bypass the system. I have the latest firmware updated on my X8 Pro and RC, yet the option to turn RID on/off is still there. So it's pretty clear to me that FIMI isn't even trying to comply. Which is one of the reasons I suspect they will focus on sub 249g drones in the near future.
      Fimi just started selling the X8 Mini 3. It looks like it's the same as the X8 Mini 2 but with a better camera.
      Anyone who's looking to get a DJI like UAV system for a substantially lower price point should either be patient until saving enough money to buy DJI, Autel, Anafi, etc. Or accept the fact that if they do decide to buy a Fimi drone there's a good chance they're throwing their money away. Because any Fimi product, particularly new models, will have about a 50/50 chance that the untit will be defective. The hurdles and expense of shipping a drone back to China will make most people not bother and just never give FIMI another dime. It's a shame, really. They really had the potential to be a real contender to DJI. Unfortunately, I believe FIMI may have already damaged their reputation in the U.S. market to badly to recover.

    • @1EyeInTheSky
      @1EyeInTheSky Před 2 měsíci

      An option to continue to fly your FIMI that is not in RID compliance is to get an RID module. If you are flying recreationally then you can register that module with the FAA and move from drone to drone. If part 107 flying is being done you would need a module for each non compliant drone. They cannot be moved. I hate the above option because it means you have buy something else just to fly your perfectly usable drones. It unfortunate that we have to buy more gear just to fly after we have already paid good money for the drone.

    Hi, good video. Sorry you are having difficulty with your TX10A. I think you have a bad TX10A. When first available I purchased the TX10A to use with my Fimi X8 SE 2022 V2. That combination works great. Recently purchased the Fimi X8 Pro, but found that I can't bind my TX10A to the X8 Pro. I am currently flying the X8 Pro using the standard controller. Doing the firmware was easy using the standard controller. I bought my X8 Pro as a package with a TX10A, but that TX10A will still take weeks to arrive. I had hoped to use the TX10A I already have and sell the new TX10A as new. Now I am left with trying to bind the new TX10A with my X8 Pro where it won't be a new controller. Will need to sell it as used. Most Chinese are on vacation during the Chinese new year. I doubt that I will get any reply to my email about my TX10A inability to bind to my X8 Pro for weeks. Keep us advised on your progress to have Fimi resolve your TX10A problem.

      FIMI said that if I pay to ship my X8 Pro & TX10A to them and they find a manufacturing defect that then they will repair or replace the drone/RC. unfortunately. Shipping stuff to China from the US is expensive. After all fees $160-$225!
      I don't trust FIMI. I feel like even if there's a manufacturing defect, FIMI would likely blame it on the carrier. Carrier claims have to be made upon receipt. So I would get nothing from the carrier, at the very least FIMI will make me pay for return shipping or even stick me with a possibly fictitious repair bill! I don't think I'll be buying any more FIMI product from any source other than Amazon or any other seller with an "in house" rock solid return policy. FIMI won't screw around with the largest online retailer in the U.S. Thousands of unit sales daily vs having to resolve a quality issue in an honest and forthright way.

      I just bought an Air 3 and I already have a Mini 1 and Mini 3. So I definitely agree that DJI is number 1 for a reason. I still will support smaller companies that make good products. It's better for we consumers because competition drives innovation, lower prices, better/faster customer services and support etc. My X8 Pro will never be able to compete with my Air 3 in many ways but my X8 has some cool features that I would love to see DJI adopt. Like a accessory port for a 4g cellular adapter, megaphone and package release system that are all operated from the RC without the need for a separate transmitter. Also dual flood lights that can be turned on or off from the RC. That's some of the innovation I mentioned. I recently read an article about a drone that has a gull wing V shape and only 2 motors. Or a cylinder that has 2 coaxial propellers that spin opposite directions. Lots of cool new tech. I'm about to begin my custom uav builder journey. My goal is to build a drone that can also be a personal aircraft.

      I am really sorry for anyone has to deal with FIMI support. FIMI support is fine for things that don't require physically sending the drone back to China. However if you have problems that require Fimi support physically repairing the drone they will ask you to pay for shipping and ship the drone back to China. FIMI will diagnose the issue and they say "if a manufacturing flaw or component failure is found, Fimi will repair or replace the drone. However if they determine that there is a problem, they may blame the shipping company or the consumer for the problem. At this point they'll send an email with the repair and return shipping bill total. I haven't had any direct experience with FIMI and a warranty claim. However the cost to send the drone back to China is surprisingly expensive. In my case the stuttering live feed was irritating but not bad enough to spend $150 to ship the drone to FIMI.

      @ssb73q the stuttering issue was made better by performing a factory reset on the TX10A and re-downloading the latest firmware. Now, the stuttering problem has been reduced to a very brief freeze or pause in the live feed and it happens less frequently. About once every 5-7 seconds. I strongly suspect that once the inventory is depleted, FIMI will either redesign the TX10A or abandon it all together. It's a shame that FIMI's quality control and shady business practices ruined the TX10A. Had it functioned correctly is would have been a close analog to the DJI Pro RC but at one fifth the price.

    Do you recommend the Fimi x8 2022 v2?

    • @brutalwarpig
      @brutalwarpig  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I actually recommend both the X8 2022 V2 and the X8 Pro. I can tell you that the X8 Pro has a longer control range. I worked out most of the problems I had with the X8 Pro. I love the TX10A but it has a bit of a latency problem but with the regular controller my X8 Pro works very well. On the other hand the X8 2022 V2 is a wonderful value, great performance, good camera, good range and battery. The X8 Pro uses a 4s 15.4v 3800mah or a 15.4v 5000mah battery. The X8 2022 v2 uses a 3S 11.2v battery. One thing I do not like is that the X8 Pro battery and the X8 2022 V2 battery are in the exact same housing and either battery will lock into place on either UAV. I don't know what would happen if you powered on either drone with the wrong battery installed, but it would probably damage the battery, drone, or both.
      The X8 2022 V2 uses different, slightly lower power motors than the X8 Pro but they both have the same max speed. My guess is FIMI had to up the battery size/voltage to power the collision avoidance systems in the X8 Pro and went to the 1806 motors to more efficiently make use of the increased battery voltage and handle the additional weight of the battery and collision avoidance system and still have the same speed and flight characteristics as the X8 2022 V2. Both UAV's fly very well, are very stable and have good cameras. Video/photo quality is where you start to see the difference between these UAV's and DJI or Autel drones. The X8 Pro and X8 2022 V2 have the same resolution and capabilities, although the X8 Pro has a slightly larger main camera sensor. The image from either X8 is roughly equivalent to the DJI Mini 2.
      To answer your questions, yes, I highly recommend the X8 2022 V2. I bought mine from Amazon for $399. That's the base package with only one battery. With the X8 2022 drone you get equal performance in all aspects to a DJI Air 2 with the exception of collision avoidance and a slightly lower performance camera. It's a lot of drone for $399!

I started flying drones in November 2023, first ever drone I bought is the Bwine GB2 f7 I got it on black Friday, anyway I felt in love with this hobby but after a month I wanted to go further so I been researching the x8 v2 and the X8 pro. But on the other hand, you are extremely technical with what you're describing and knowledgeable with your stuff.
      Well, thank you very much for taking the time to explain and verifying to me the x8 drone . I'm going to get it with the two batteries since only $499.00 because buying the battery separately is $170.00.

      @brutalwarpig By the way, my name is Rudy. I live in Southern California , and I am a professional automotive painter, but I do a lot of customized paint. Cars, motorcycles, and firearms. If you ever have a question about painting anything, let me know. I'm well familiar with all types of paints and brands .

      @RUDEalvarez117 thank you! I really appreciate that, and I very well may have some questions for you at some point. My only advice about buying a Fimi drone is that you know going in that the repair or service process requires you to pay to ship the drone back to Fimi in China. Fimi doesn't reimburse this expense even if they determine the problem was their fault. Right now I would recommend the X8 2022SE V2 over the X8 Pro. Once Fimi has gone through the October 2023 production run of X8 Pro drones the second batch will probably be okay. The only noticeable difference between the two is collision avoidance. I personally have never crashed a drone. Probably because the only thing I do I fly high above any obstacles for higher altitude photo and videos. I occasionally will fly near skyscrapers but even then I never get close enough for the collision system to give me an alert.

      @@RUDEalvarez117 have you had any experience with high endurance coatings like Ceracote on firearms? I've seen a few DYI coating kits but never tried one.

    Did you try another sd card?

      Yes I tried several high speed micro sd cards including a Fimi brand SD card. The stuttering live feed image still is a problem.

    Hello friend, how are you, my TX10a control is locking the screen every half a second, can you tell me why?
    Now the recordings that are saved in the gallery do not have the delay, it is normal, only when viewing the screen it gets stuck.
    Here is a video from another user with the same problem as mine.

      @Robertomyspace I wish I could help. To this day I have had the same problem. My live feed from my X8 Pro on the TX10A will freeze for about half a second and that happens once every 2 to 5 seconds. You could try doing a factory reset of your TX10A Remote Controller. It has a factory reset option in the drop down Android menu. It resets just like an android phone does. Of course you will have go through the whole new device process of activating the RC, setting up a wifi or Lan connection, downloading firmware updates, etc. I've actually reset my TX10A twice. Before I reset it the last time. I verified that the firmware updates were current. Yet when I reinstalled the updates, a newer firmware version had been downloaded. It didn't correct the freezing problem but it did reduce the rate it was happening. You will have to do the pairing process between RC and UAV again as well. Generally speaking my TX10A worked better after the factory reset. Always make sure Fimi Assistant is up to date. Don't trust that you'll get automatically notified every time an update is available.

      @@brutalwarpig Thanks for the tip, I'll test it by factory resetting it. But in contact with another user with the same problem, he reported that Fimi had told him that there was an error in the electromagnetic interference signal between the control and the drone, so he went to a rural area and there he did not get this error. I'm also going to do this test in a place outside the city.
      I heard back from Fimi saying that they would release a new update to correct this error.
