Nice job with the install. I'm still considering the benchdogs hinge, but also the dashboard, but that one is $$$$. If I went with the benchdogs version I'd be doing as you mentioned and routing a recess to flush mount the plates so they sit level with the surface of the workbench. A bit more work and I'd have to pad underneath where the recess is to fully support the dogs that secure the plates, but it would be out of the way of that first row of dog holes for extended crosscut capacity.. I have I think 10 of those ratcheting clamps from bessey. They're amazing. The ratcheting clamping head fits the microjig dovetail clamps so you could basically make the new microjig ratcheting clamps with those you already have. I'm less afraid of a zombie apocalypse than an insect apocalypse lol Thanks for posting!
Yup, great addition to the shop!!! I have another smaller bench I’m thinking of adding dogs to so I can use this with a smaller rail for smaller more accurate cuts, where the Bosch glide saw is not accurate enough.

I added a Benchdogs fence with flag stops which works great for crosscutting wide panels to the same size very accurately. As to the shipping costs, what option did they offer you? I'm also in Canada and find their default DHL shipping to be very expensive. I did talk to Ralph about it and he couldn't really offer an alternative other than Royal Mail which was on strike at the time. The Benchdogs stuff is top notch, but DHL shipping is just too much (for me). It would be nice if they could partner with a distributor on this side of the pond like Lee Valley or Ultimate Tools in Vancouver.
I did, yes. I use small spacers under what I’m cutting to keep from cutting into my table. Due to that sinking it down further would not improve things for me.
@@mbwoodbutcher ok, i use a couple of strips of UHMW (replaceable) where i have cut lines. I have a long but narrow workshop so neeed max cut without infringing on space

They were able to send it by Royal Mail (I guess they were not on strike then) slower than DHL but almost half the cost…
Did you think about rabbiting the main plates of the hinges flush with the table top as well, it increased my cut capacity
