@@vincenthaynes3603 Do you think people would called it padding, or thought the game overstayed its welcome, if Grimora and Magnificus had their own chapters?
@@DamageMaximo Yeah, do you think that players would think of the extra chapters as padding or added out of reluctant necessity? Or even worse, that the game just overstays its welcome. Or do you(like me) hope that it would help the game?
I don't know if it was intentionally, but I like to think the jankiness of this mod makes it even more realistic; Magnificus's whole theme was that he was "unfinished" where literally everything he does is usually cut off, and even the final world you meet him in is almost entirely unrendered. Makes it feel more like he's actually there in some ways.
The unfinished theme didn't click for me until I just read your comment. Poor guy is so unfinished that he doesn't even get to shake your hand as a final goodbye.
@@jackdaniel3135 Each scrybe seemed to represent an aspect of game design. Leshy was the story and the setting, PO3 was the gameplay, balance, and mechanics, Grimora was archives, saves, and memory, and Magnificus was ambition, inspiration, and the incomplete. In context of the story, it makes even more sense. Leshy is what we as players find is the most important in a game, and thus we are introduced with him and are with him the longest. PO3 is the second most important, and is why we see him the second most, as the balance and mechanics are what keep us invested in a game and what keeps us playing, hence why he’s next in line after leshy. It’s even more interesting when you realize his gameplay only is interesting to players that have played the game for awhile. Grimora is in the shadows, constantly marking and archiving without anyone acknowledging her (the tombstones marking the devs as well), hence why she is the most humble and the least ambitious of the scrybes, being the only one willing to let go of the data, as she would have to deal with something similar every time a player resets. Magnificus is as grandiose as his name, and embodies the lost concepts one has when building a game. Whether it be new mechanics (gems being the most “different” mechanic) or story and ideas that have no beginning, end, or form, magnicificus is the only one who can see the future of others as he quite literally embodies the potential future of a game. But it’s also why out of all the scrybes, he was the most important to lock up, as his potential needed to be constantly stomped out. It’s a really poetic plot when you really look into it, and is honestly what makes this game so special. And of course, because the plot is the most special, it’s why we get an update to play the most story driven scrybe for all eternity, leshy, in Kaycee’s mod :D
Also, to add onto this, because gameplay and plot are always at ends with each other, so are Leshy and P03 I can also imagine there’s some sort of metaphor to Leshy popping off P03’s head, as if it was the dev’s way of saying “screw balance” (especially when considering the actual balance of some of the insane combos of the game)😂
@@rawrbutnoxd9500P03 uses the scrybes as his followers. He is Golly (technology/internet, no explanation necessary). Magnifcus has the best music in the game his boss track in act 2 his boss track in act 3 and even Goobert's theme he has some of the best music that my ears have ever heard in their life time.
It's made by a team that also does the Grimora and Po3 mods. All the same team. They ended up making a card generator plug in that would further randomize the cards you get and RNG. @@Tired_Tortilla So there is a P03 mod to make it work like a Rougelike game akin to Kayee's mod, rather than the story-based adventure it is in act 3. There is even a P03 Boss fight with 3 phases that is pretty intresting.
while it may be lacking in visuals remember, these were all assets from the base game plus a few new assets, to be completely honest the new assets are great not as good as the grimora mod but that's to be expected since we at least got to a boss in grimora's level meanwhile we only got to do a few moves in a already kinda deleted magnificus level
Would've been nice if this was an official addition to the game. Also would've been cool if the cards had models appear above them like at the end of the story
I love seeing Magnificus Mod finally getting some love. I think Magick in general is typically overlooked and thought as the worst system in the game, so it's great to see such a loving masterpiece for my favorite Scrybe. Thanks for the video!
I found it weird that you chose not to use scales cause in the game magnificus says they're not used cause they were deleted, but apparently if you don't win/lose to leshy he just says "what, you were expecting scales?" implying he doesn't use them anyway
I don't like that you actually fight the students All Grimora, P03 and Leshy showed that their minions should be locked in somekinda items and brought by scrybe that sits before you (Sculls of ghouls, wooden masks of Leshy minions, images on P03 screen)
The mod is cool, with some adjustment to the sprites of the bosses and do that every bosses give you their mox, like the first one give you the green mox so you don't have to set it
I’m glad we finally have representation for grimoira and magnificus. It’s a shame that Leshy and po3 got all the glory
Part of that is because Leshy was the first scrybe implemented through Sacrifices Must be Made.
