    While the world of Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korrahas fun ways to use elemental bending (e.g. air scooter), it also features some quite frightening bending abilities. The waterbender Hama introduced Katara to what would become an outlawed practice throughout the world: bloodbending. While she did her best to make it illegal, we have seen an evolved version of the art in the first season of The Legend of Korra, with Amon, who could take away bending through bloodbending.
    Another horrifying practice has been seen through the newly awoken airbender Zaheer. Unlike Air Nomads who preach non-violence, Zaheer, the third season’s main antagonist and anarchists the Red Lotus, spread chaos wherever they went. His most notable airbending discovery besides flight, was the ability to take someone’s air from their lungs. This is how he tried to destroy the Earth Kingdom’s monarchy when he attacked the queen.
    While bloodbending, and Zaheer’s use of airbending are terrifying arts, there is one forbidden earthbending technique that is even more frightening: bonebending. The secret art has been kept buried way before Aang’s time, but might have been used under noses all along. In today’s video I will discuss the tragic origins of bonebending, how the Earth Kingdom kept it a secret, the possibilities of the technique, and how Toph Beifong has been using it since she left the Metalbending Police Force to roam the world.

    I think you’re forgetting to consider the way ancient earth bending techniques that we saw from King Bumi only subtly in ATLA also incorporates bone bending. If you read the Kyoshi novels you should know there’s also Lao Ge who teaches Kyoshi about the ancient earth bending techniques that basically lead to immortality. It involves remaining completely stagnant in growth, like the earth. The results of this are physically evident as you basically don’t age by paying attention to the way your body and bones decay, and then bend them back in places that help extend your lifespan by many years. Mentally you must also remain stagnant, which is probably why Bumi was always so childish. Kyoshi was able to live for 230 years practicing this technique and who knows how much Bumi was able to do with it but at the end of ATLA he was 112. This is mega OP.

    I like this idea. I also love the possibility of teaching water benders techniques of blood bending for the sole purpose of non-invasive surgeries. Like sure, many things could be healed with the usual water techniques, but should a person develop a tumor or should there be complications while giving birth or some similar event, doesn't it make sense to use the blood to create tiny ice blades, cut the tissue in question from within without damagung any other area, then passing it out by let's say moving it (via blood bending by literally grabbing the chunk of tissue) out by passing it in stool or something, or assisting in the birth by literally dragging the baby out from the uterus? Actually toph can easily bend the iron out of the blood, quickly killing the person. In atla comics toph mentions to the gaang that she was able to tell people's ethic origins by the amount of iron in their blood. Fire nation has the most iron due to red meats, earth kingdom has more minerals due to a wider range of foods and spices, water tribe has more oil and salt in their blood due to the seal meat and Jerry and air benders have rare rocks used to tattoo their arrows. This is how toph can see the movements of bodies and why she knew aang had tattoos while swimming. She is also never seen asking if someone was earth kingdom. Actually, in many comics toph lives in the first fire nation Colonie in the earth kingdom, with many earth kingdom, fire nation and even water tribe people living together and she can easily tell which is which. She even points out to aangs fan club that they aren't air benders and that two are earth kingdom while one has a fire nation parent. This surprises everyone as no one realized her sense was that sharp. She could easily pull the iron and minerals out of the body like tiny metal marbles. We even see her fixing engines and explaining how she can sense the earth in everyone all the time. This is why she is seen abandoning city life, this is why she could sense people using the trees and it's why she was able to easily feel the mercury in korras body. She can feel tattoos, piercings, rooted teeth and even when someone is pregnant.

      Not to mention bone bending just isn’t possible, blood bending only works because the human body is basically almost completely water but then the water benders need the full moon to boost their bending ability to make it work and ofc only prodigious water benders can actually do it. I wanted to see which one would be more powerful, Bonebending or Bloodbending:
    QUICK NOTE: My definition of "powerful" in this case is which one can you access easily, and what can you do with it
    If you were to use Bonebending, it wouldn't be as powerful as Bloodbending, since bones aren't everywhere in the body and not everything can have bones to bend, and not everything has blood to bend, but it would be more useful if you just want to throw someone away, stop them so they don't do something (pushing them away or kind of holding them in place) which is usually why someone would use Bonebending or Bloodbending.
    Bloodbending makes you do more specific things. But you can only Bloodbend if there is a full moon, unless you're Yakone or one of Yakone's children, whereas Bonebending, you can do it whenever.
    There are more Earthbenders than Waterbenders (assumed from the map shown at the beginning) so there would probably be more Earthbenders that may know how to Bonebend than Waterbenders that know how to Bloodbend.
    In my conclusion, I think Bonebending is more powerful than Bloodbending because you can access it whenever, but Bloodbending can make you powerful (which I'm assuming someone will do on a full moon) which will make the Waterbender very powerful.
    If there is anything wrong, please tell me lol!

    • @TheCrusader97
      @TheCrusader97 Před 2 lety

      @@neofelisnebulosa3871 idk, I know that’s where they THINK their bending comes from. This is basically a culture in the late medieval age and they would have no idea of understanding the science behind their bending. I’ll explain my hypothesis quickly with a few examples provided by the show:
      1: Firebenders have next to no power, if any at all, during the night. During the day, or when the light is at its brightest, their fire bending is at its most powerful.
      2: Boom-boom man shot lasers out of his forehead, suggesting that Firebenders, can, in fact, bend light (to an extent).
      3: waterbenders seem to be the counter to this, as their bending appears to come from the darkness. The darker it is, the more powerful their bending. I know the moon has something to do with it, which may also suggest that their power may have something to do with magnetic forces (think tides during different stages of the moon in coastal areas).
      4: Sozan’s comet put off a lot of light (or ultra-violet radiation) directly into earths atmosphere. This could explain the spike in the power of the Firebenders at the end of season 3.
      Idk, I just think science is a cool way to explain magical powers and it’d be neat (to me, at least) if it was correct.
