Southern cal coach doesn't have the clout to manage those egos. She let juju shoot 30 times a game. TVO was two steps too slow against notre dame and sc. Plus food on defense
She let Juju shoot that much because it gave them the best chance of winning. No one outside of Juju and Forbes had an offensive bag. They could hit open shots and cut to the basketball but that’s pretty much hit. If TVO gets cooked they’ll be able to sub in Heckl.
South carolina 2019 team had 2 seniors that been in Dawn's system for three years to lead the freshies. Southern cal is bringing in two players from different teams to lead their 7 freshman. Is this really a "super team"🤔
If that's true what you are saying about Kiki and JuJu her not passing up on her. So why didn't Kiki just transfer there at first. Why did Kiki act like she was trying to make her choice between Southern Cal and South Carolina? She didn't need to claim she was visiting South Carolina. Out of respect she could have kept her word and visit South Carolina afterward then make her choice Southern Cal
The moves are enough for me to move USC behind South Carolina. And they should be ranked second nationally. I have to say though. I felt that way after the Iriafen commitment. I don’t really rate Talia. She is decent. But no one will mistake her for one of the top guards in the country. Upgrade from Padilla though I guess. How Kennedy smith fits into all of this and how USC does with the move to the big 10… those will be my biggest question marks on this team.
I agree that TVO isn’t one of the top guards in the country. But they don’t need her to be. They just needed someone with experience to fill in until Heckl is good enough to be the primary ball handler. Kennedy Smith is interesting for sure…she has a lot of talent but I could see her having her PT reduced for Heckl/Howell if she starts taking too many shots.
No. 2 spot is a stretch. Kiki was getting bodied at the block against the nc state bigs. And there’s no real leadership on the court. Juju only spoke when she needed a pick or to back off so she can go Iso. And there’s to many freshman. USC is a replica of what Stanford was this year.

I like Howell on the court a lot as a weapon that can really space the floor.
