- PNW Porting Built Predator 212 with the basic stage 1, plus some extra FREE mods to gain more compression and power!
We were able to pull over 6800 RPM loaded which yielded incredible torque and would smack a wheelie off the line!
18# Valve springs
Reduced squish-band tolerance for more compression
Go Power Sports High flow air filter kit
Performance Header
Carb Jet increased
110+91 octane Fuel
This motor has yet to be ported, but once it is, I will be sure to showcase the increase in performance!
The deceleration sound with these headers is soo good
I know right
Does anyone have the link to this header I would love to buy one for my cammed predator
@@cameronpierce5188 it’s the trumpet header on gopowersports.com :)
Mine pops 😂
@@Slow_OBS what does that mean when it pops
The way gas prices are everyone is going to be riding a mini bike LOL
Facts
(other then the fact most eat gas like a fat dude at McDonald's with a big mac)
I love the sound of that header
I just dropped my doddle bug in the shop doing a 212 predator swap can't wait... Nice bike sounds like a beast.
this thing sounds so good
That thing sounds soooo healthy..💪🏼
jeez man i own a baja doodlebug which i think thats the same one you got, i just ordered a stage 2 kit and seeing how fast that is just a stage 1 kit, im gonna be going crazy fast hell yeah dude
Make sure you have brakes you going be hiting 55+ mph and also a helmet
I have the same tach on my wheeler and tractor (on my channel) I like it cuz of the hour meter and maintenance reminder an was $10 only thing it's takes a lot of adjusting to get it set up for what you have (settings and pickup location)
Predator 212 dune buggy style (or goped TRQ style) shifter kart. That’d be an interesting project
Nice bro!💯👍🏾
the engine Vibration must be on a whole another level 😂
Love it!
Would a torque converter make it faster or it just increase acceleration
Are you still on the stock rod and flywheel?
What sprockets are you running?
Cool!
how does the rod not snap.. i blew a stock rod at 4500 rpm
Hey man I installed my mikuni with my header pipe on my gx200 that sits on my db30 and it only hits 30 mph do you think it’s because I left the governor arm in gear in the engine?
What gear ratio you on?
What’s the gearing you have it set at please and thank you
Which header pipe did you get
Dog that header sounds awesome bro wtf. Right on Big man.
My bike does about the same on a good day even though I don’t have the valve springs BUT I have a smaallllll ass gear ratio
Bro that’s sick my bike is a stock predator with a 3 stage and it hits 50 with the gov I’m going to add that stage 1 carb kit it’s on the way videos coming over the weekend check my recent vids I built mine and my sons bikes there fast but I want a lil more 60 would be amazing right now I hit 52 mph check the clips 🤙🏽
What header do you got
What size jet are you using??
I got a stock bx200 with a straight chain and a zip tied governor and we hit 58 stock everything and i looked at the gear calculator and it said it was hitting 7000 rpm lmk if y’all have the same bike its a 196cc
need to put that engine on a moped frame and presto.
Niccce
Dude I'm afraid those forks are gonna fold up on you, I'd straighten em up and reinforce em somehow. But that aside a 22mm mikuni will double what you have in power ,and give you insane throttle response, but I'd put some billet parts in to protect your build.
Trying to build it without the dirt bike carb those bikes have so many issues after you put those on I beat both my pops bikes and he has no govs and dirt bike carbs exhaust the whole set up and I smoke him lol he’s upgrading carbs this weekend so that’s why I ordered the stage 1 😎🤣
Mikuni carbs are the best carbs to run on the predators never have had any problems.
Is that the 100 or 200 chases
Okay cool so I have plenty of throttle left. I was out test riding my bike and I've got it to 4k rpm or so before I back off. Also not going to fast because I don't have brakes yet, there's something wrong with the caliper I bought.
Billet rod?
Dude that thing is sick! Is she still holding up? I would think the connecting rod would give way but you seemed to prove that wrong👌
Still running like a champ to this day! Stock rod, stock piston, whole lotta sending it!
PNW Porting awsome!
@@PNWPorting Tell us your secret to keeping the stock rod from breaking?
I rev my stock rod pred 212 to 7,100rpm almost every ride. It loves it
@@PNWPorting I got the .010 head gasket because of this video. When I seen you do that and how quick this thing was I had to get one. I practically been buying parts and watching videos for the last year and no one mentioned that. The predator I built to almost the exact specs here is a f****** monster.
What’s your gearing?
I immediately wondered the same
Did you put in a billet flywheel? Some people swear by it, others go stage 1 stock flywheel. Nice bike
high rpm with the predator 212 = risk of boom boom from flywheel. most people recommend if you remove the governor that you also swap the flywheel since your pushing higher rpm's than stock
So you decked the head but didn't port it? I don't get it. Why pull the head if you weren't going to go for it? Also waiting to see your update.
Smaller head gasket to increase compression, they didn't shave the head.
How were you doing 41 on a stock motor? Did u always have the governor removed?
Mine do 45 stock with zip tie bypass and header on the same frame but non hemi 212
What's the gearing
Man 1 more gear or smaller back sprocket that would fly.
I got a question I’ve noticed your predator will rev and stay reved what could be the problem if the motor will reve all the way up while riding then it winds back down then takes a couple more seconds for it to reve back up
Is the governor still in your engine
Jacket Sprite Cranberry yes but since then I have removed it and it’s still doing it almost like the carb can’t keep up
Drew Vann I would suggest taking the carb apart and cleaning out all the jets, there are tons of videos on how to do it
Drew Vann it’s called a carb surge, it’s when the carb is not running steadily, I had the same problem and cleaning it fixed it right away
Air fuel ratio is off if you are losing power it may be to rich and bogged. If it screams hard it could be to lean and burn up the motor. Jet tune using your spark plug. It should be tan if it's all correct.
Try using 26lb springs it works with the stock rod
I blew two stock rods using 26lbs and right away too, billet rod now Reving 9k +rpms but yeah never had problem with 18 lbs springs with stock rod
@@jobanygarcia78 i been using min like that for 2 years
It's not recommend at all to run anything over 5500 RPMs on the stock flywheel. It WILL fly apart. 26lb valve spring are for big cam, high compression builds.
Yo I have a predator 212 with jetting filter and exhaust with stock valve springs do you think I would damage the motor removing the governor
@cro-thehacker7018 There's been a couple folks who ran 26 pounders on their mostly stock 196 or 212. Some run all day everyday and some call it quits after one run. I'm doing what I like to call a Stage 1½ build. I got a cast aluminum flywheel, 26lb springs, 26mm Mikuni copied carb and governor delete.
The craziest part is I accidentally got 6800 rpm on stock rod... this happened because I didn't know tillotson motors have 24lb spring and I put a mikuni on it..
I also hit the top speed of 57mph at 6800 rpms and that's with 5.00 gearing
Would you know the valve lash for 212cc non hemi with 18lb valve springs?
Typically it's .003 for the exhaust and Intake at TDC. On the non-hemi it's best to go .003 exhaust and .002 on the intake to fully decompress for easier starting. .003 works fine but once you advance the timing (if you do), it will have a hard pull that sneaks up on you every now and then!
@@fatbuddycat ok thanks
@@fatbuddycat if I upgrade the fly wheel would I need set the valve lash to .003?
@@PAiN46k just keep the intake valve slightly snugger than the exhaust valve, ideally somewhere between .0015 and .003 and go with .003 on the exhaust. Reason is because the advanced timing (flywheel change) effects the decompression system that is on the back of the cam, so the slight lash difference brings it closer to stock so you don't get back fire. Even if you do them both at .003 but go real snug on the intake and loose on the exhaust it makes a difference. If you get any issues with hard pulling its because TDC has to be on the compression stroke before lashing.
I don't understand y upgrade the valve springs they don't flout lol most the time everyone just running out of cam I heard stuff flout valves but I almost never see it on 212s I see people keep it stock springs and have a cam with more lift and still don't flout
What type of brakes do you use mine aren’t really good also does tightening them help?
On the DB's the stock breaks have been enough on my stage two, just buy new pads and adjustable them up.
Is this a hemi or non hemi
Non hemi
I put a stock non hemi on my son's go kart.that lil suckers will fly.and pulls really strong with 200 plus pounds on it
is the governor removed on this?
Yes it is if I'd did it wouldn't go above 3800rpm
@@squarebodycasewademckenney6190 3600
@@niklagamer3729 right.... some small engines are set to 3800 sometimes though
@@squarebodycasewademckenney6190 ohh ok
You can push there's engines even with the governor in to around 5300~ RPMs
This might be a dumb question but do you have a clutch
Looks like a torque converter
It's dumb but its fine this engine as a centrifugal clutch but idk if a torque converter would make it faster
Yes, clutch
Some new forks broo ....those things are super bent up
stock flywheel?
I dont think so
Does the stage 1 make it faster?
Yes. Maybe +5mph
Most certainly. Pair it with a few basic mods and pull nearly 7k RPM out of your stock motor.
If ya blow a motor, take your parts off and do it again! best part about these cheap motors!
Would you get more RPM with a hotter cam and heavier springs? I'm doing some research for a build of mine. 6500 RPM on stock cam and 18lb springs is very impressive!
Hotter can and heavier springs will require a bullet rod and flywheel
@@loganhawkinstv.426 Oh yeah, you're right. I assumed he already had billet flywheel/rod. Still not bad at all for stock internals.
Yes.
Take off the red sleeve for more air
It's microfiber cloth, about as much air as your going to be able to get in, with it on or off. So it really doesn't matter.
Why 18lb? why not 22?
That's what I'm wondering
Safer as a stage 1.
Not bad at all, Need better gearing though
Does it have a governor
nope
@@NakulDesaiTechGuy how do you know
@@IvanOchoa461 with a governor these max out around 3600 rpm. There's no way he can be turning close to 7k with the governor still in
@@NakulDesaiTechGuy oh ok makes sense
@@NakulDesaiTechGuy you can rev so much faster then 3600 RPMs with the governor. You can get 3800 out of them just taking the screw out of the throttle plate and get to around 6k with the governor still in with the zip tie trick. Of course I don't recommend doing anything over 5300-5500 because of valve float and then flywheel flying apart but it's definitely possible with the governor.
Doing that with with a stock flywheel and rod can cause you a bad accident while riding. Even 5k rpm is high enough to separate the magnet on the flywheel leading to potential leg injury or worse. The stock can rod hold up ok, but not at 6500 rpms, so I'm sure you dont ride at those rpms all the time. You can easily fall off the bike if you get startled at 45 mph. Not fun at all.
This bike has over 50 hours of use on it with this motor. Hasn't ran a single issue and even pulled it over 7k rpm. Its all about checking squishband tolerances.
@@PNWPorting Good point. Sounds like you know what you're doing. Was just looking out brother
@@maykmendo1 if I use the zip tie method will the engine and flywheel be okay
