    I've worn full dentures for a few years and recently the top set cracked after only 18 months use. The dental technician told me it was my fault because I mainly chew on one side. She didn't charge for the repair, but we had lengthy discussion about the whys and wherefores.
    Any thoughts?

    You are so incredibly helpful thank you very very much from what I got from this video my life will never be the same again. But it doesn't mean I can't enjoy it thoroughly. Question though, can I still eat steak as long as I cut it into smaller pieces?

    Thank you for making these videos! Very informative and have helped me with the "fears" of dentures. Hopefully in a few months I will have a complete set of uppers and lowers. Thank you again.

    Do dentures come with any warnty? As i was told dentures take 6 wks to make. Is that true? Or is their away to make like tempary pair intill u get new pair? Or Does that mean if it breaks bad enough you could be without teeth for 6 wks? I am scared being with out teeth.....What do you sujust for people that have bad grip? I am scared of droping it. If you have warty does cover droping them?

      I don't know of any practitioner who offers a actual "warranty" on their dentures. Most reputable practitioners, however, will repair a denture at no charge within a certain amount of time after it's been fabricated if the breakage occurred because of a issue with the fabrication of the denture. How long is this period of time you might ask? It will vary from practitioner to practitioner. The reason that you generally will not find a "warranty" for dentures is that we know dentures are made of plastic and are only so strong. We also know that we cannot control how people use the denture. If you were to drop your denture on the ground and break it in half, if you bite into the pit of a olive and break a tooth it's nothing to do with how the denture was made, it's how the denture has been used and is out of our control. Think of it like crashing your car into a wall. Will the manufacturer replace your bumper at no charge just because it needs repair? Most likely not.
      There's no right or wrong answer I can give as to how long it takes to make a denture. To make a denture there will be typically 4-5 appointments needed. All depending on how often you can be fit into the schedule at the office you are visiting will determine how long it will take to make your denture. If the practitioner can only see you ever week or week and a half then it very well could take six weeks to make a denture at that office.
      If your denture is unable to be repaired then you will most likely be going without teeth until your new denture will be ready. Most reputable practitioners will try to get your broken denture repaired to the best of their ability so, even though it may not be ideal, you will at least have something to wear in your mouth until your new denture is ready.
      If you don't have enough strength in your hands to hold onto your denture properly to brush them this is what I would suggest. Place a face cloth on the bottom of your sink and wash your denture on top of the face cloth. It won't require you holding onto it as much and it can't drop. As far as for your denture brush, try to find one with a large, thick handle. Many people who suffer from arthritis have issues with being able to hold onto things in their hands. The less you have to grip your hand together the easier it will be to hold onto a object. I've seen some people cut a hole through a tennis ball and shove the toothbrush through the hole. I've seen some people wrap tin foil or rubber bands around the tooth brush to help increase the size of the handle. Whatever works best for you, try it.

    My dentures cracked down the middle to my front tooth. Can I still wear them until I get them repaired in a couple days?

      @parisiendentureclinic9617  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, you can wear them until you get them fixed. The bigger question is are they going to break in half from now until then if you wear them. That I cannot answer for you. Best of luck!

      You can't simply "raise the lower teeth" once a denture is finished. Or at least you can't do this without a great deal of work which would equal almost the amount of work required for a new denture. If it was a denture that I had made, and the teeth were not long enough and you were biting your lips, I would remake the denture. It's also possible that the teeth are the proper length and that there's another issue which is causing you to bite your lip. It's really impossible to tell without seeing you. Best of luck in having this issue resolved!
